Im fucking flaming windows

Yes you're on the right track....

When you remove the old display adapters you then install the new driver on the desktop.

So remove them .... restart the PC.

IMPORTANT:

If you log in and the screen resolution is not retarded, go back to the Device manager and remove another driver. All display drivers must be GONE before you install the new one.
.
.
.

So when you log in and the resolution and graphics are fugged up. You know it's time to start the new instalation.

EDIT: Remove driver ... Restart PC ... only when graphics are Fugged up, install new driver

Ok I removed have fugged up graphics but I went to go check the display adaptors the the 200M series is still listed. Is it suppose to be like that?

Just the 1 listed now ? If so take it out.

If it's still there for some reason after, just install the new driver anyway.

Let me know how it goes.

Um ok I updated and the thing swapped to ATI Radeon Xpress Series (no numbers) my resolution is worse than what it was, and I didn't get a thing from ATI to fix it

When you said you updated, you mean you just installed the driver right ?

Cause you should never use the option to update.

Let me know exactly what happened so i can solve this for you asap

Yes installed. I think I should uninstall the install, and re-install.

Edit: To clarify the install seemed to have froze on my screen ctrl+alt+delete checked it was fine then got the install was done after the C++ (CCC w/e) was apparently done. I am thinking the install box froze, and the install continued even though the progress wasn't shown.

This time when you remove the driver. Also go to Add/revove programs. Find the ATI display driver in there and take it out aswell as anything ATI.

I have a few more solutions but try that one for now.

Ok when I did that removed all ATI, removed my display adaptors, and reset my res to highest 1024x768 @ 32 bit color quality. Before I hit the remove res was at lower settings of 800x600 @ 16 bit color quality. Should I shoot for the install now?

You need to restart the PC before you install. The screen has to mashed. You should not be able to increase the resolution at all.

After you removed the drivers, did you restart the PC ?

right click desktop:

Display Properties > Settings tab > Advanced tab > Adapter tab

In that adapter type section click on "properties"

Driver tab > Uninstall.

Reboot the machine

EDIT: added settings tab to the 1st directory path you knew that though.

There is no uninstall in there. I think I found the problems. Windows gave me a VGA video controller could that be what the problem is?

Well i recieved some interesting news about intergrated GPUs in Laptop computers.

The Drivers in them are specified towards the manufacturers.

So. What make and model is you're laptop ?

Gateway MX6448 Model #MA3

Specifics (*Gets off ass*)
OS: MS Windows XP Media Center Edition

Video/Audio: ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 Graphics w/ up to 128 MB of shared video memory

Like every other commercial computer, you're lap top must have came with back up instalation discs. Find the one with display drivers on it and use that one.

If for some reason that is not an option:

Try installing the display driver only instead of the entire controll center. Incase you can't obtain it from the file you downloaded, you can get it here, #2 on the list.
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/integratedip-xp.html

PS. If you're laptop is in the same state as last time. most likely there is no driver in it right now.

EDIT: That would be called a system recovery disc. something along those lines.

Well I installed the display driver only because the system recovery disc does all of windows. The screen smushed down to the lowest setting and now i have a display driver again.

I googled it. 1280 x 800 is the max resolution on the Gateway MX6448 Model. Other models are 1200 x 720. Yours is the better.

Test out stability and what not. I think you're driver issues are now over.
