Immigrant group offended by Halloween costume

If you wanna hold the businesses responsible? give illegal immigrants the right to sue their employer for paying them less then minimum wage. see how many of those "jobs Americans wont do" (utter horseshit) are willing to take on that kind of liability then. (none I'd bet)

there arn't "jobs Americans wont do" theres jobs Americans wont do for the chump change they are paying the illegal immigrants to do it.

I don't think we should go around deporting illegal aliens and their kids left and right, but i get so pissed when people act as tho your a neocon if you just want SOME sort of control over who's coming in. and SOME sort of action on getting the rotten ones out, if a illegal immigrant is convicted on a violent felony theres NO fuckin reason they shouldn't be deported right away. If you count just the LEGAL immigration America STILL has more immigrants coming into our country to live here, then any other country in the world, which is great! that's what America is all about, that what we were built on. but add in the illegals and its 10 times that number if not more.

also FUCK the whole "we were illegal immigrants to" argument, guess what, back then we had slaves, children working themselves to death, politicians dueling to the death, Medicine with stuff that kills you in it, and women had all the human rights of the family dog. along with ENDLESS other fucked up shit that was part of everyday life. and america was for the most part, completely unexplored wilderness. you can't compare those days to today. things were fucked up back then and it was the norm,

America didn't invent slavery or the idea of moving into a place and kicking the indigenous people out, which many people seem to LOVE to believe.

It's not like someone can live off of minimum wage anyway. Our money is worthless green paper.

The problem is significantly deeper than just illegal immigrants, but they're currently being scapegoated by the people running us into the ground.

So? They still came in and ruthlessly slaughtered several tribes. Manifest Destiny was terribly wrong.

scapegoated? who here is saying illegal immigrants are the cause of all our problems? cause i missed that post. illegal immigration is A problem, certainly not the only problem, i don't think anyone is making that argument.

but its a problem that could be dealt with, but no politician wants to touch with a 10 foot pole. Especially not the liberals, hell THEY want to give em the right to vote.

I'm not saying it wasn't wrong, but I don't owe anyone shit for what my ancestors did(because guess what every single person here has ancestors that did things just as bad or worse) and it has absolutely NO bearing on what's happening today.

Edit:: sorry for the double post

Someone is a little angry today. I like how you pinpoint me as a 'moron' like everyone even though I'm just basing my comment (which I suppose came off wrong) on what an American said when I questioned why the government really has no plan to crack down on illegal immigrants. To me, the problem is that businesses are not punished for hiring illegal immigrants, or those that provide them with illegal documents to make them appear legal.

I'm actually in a very good mood, but thank you for asking, it's just that some things tend to stick in my craw. The reason I pinpointed you was that you are the one that decided to play the "lazy American" card.

If the US economy is dependent on illegal immigrants filling menial and labor intensive jobs, it just appears to me that American citizens aren't doing them. If these jobs are so important to the economy, then why is the government cracking down on companies and businesses that hire them, and make a fair wage? I'm sorry but in today's economy where jobs are saturated with too many college grads and baby boomers refusing to let go of their jobs, it seems like a lot of people have to take what they can get.

I'm also a foreigner to the US, and I look at the country from a different view. We're told over here that the illegal immigrants are taking jobs away because they're willing to work cheaper (and no one gets punished for this)but the government won't do anything about it because the economy is dependent on it.. so really, how am I suppose to look at this issue when it is presented as such?

Who, exactly, is presenting it as such? Immigrant rights groups, democrats scratching for votes, bleeding hearts with white guilt? I'm honestly amazed that you can somehow know the facts, state the facts, then come to a completely wrong conclusion. And not only that, but contradict yourself twice in 3 consecutive paragraphs (bolded for your reference).

Nobody wants to do a shitty job, but shitty jobs need to be done. We have way too many people thinking they're entitled to a great job, when really, we aren't. You can bust your ass for a degree and/or diploma, and you can end up selling shoes for the rest of your life because the market doesn't need another [insert fancy job title here].

"Hunger is the best sauce in the world." If one's options are not being able to support themselves and/or family and doing some job they may feel is beneath them, they will most likely suck it up and work. The fact still remains that there are still plenty of American citizens that would love to do some of these jobs that they, according to some, don't want to.

I must have missed where I said someone here was saying that in my own post!

Perhaps they could start by enforcing one or two of the million laws already in place? Or perhaps they could clean up the immigration system? My guess is the system has been made to be needlessly slow, to try and curb legal immigration; much like getting a Short-Barreled Shotgun/Rifle after 1934 will cost 200 dollars - Which at the time was ten fold the price of a shotgun/rifle.

American's have become lazy, because they get coddled with other people's hard earned money. We used to do things based on Merit, you keep what you earn - ("You reap what you sow") - but now one can reap what other's sow, because they don't have any skills or they're too damned lazy to get a job. Why get a job when you can get money and food stamps sent to you once a month?

not sure what your trying to say here.
you said they were being scapegoated as the people running us into the ground. I'm saying i haven't seen anyone here make that argument. if you can point at any one group of people as the people running this country into the ground its the politicians.

i agree 100%, if they had enforced the law from the getgo we wouldn't be in this problem at all.
but i don't think its DESIGNED to be needlessly slow, its slow because so many people are trying to get in. sure i feel for all the people in 3rd world hell holes trying to get into this country, but theres more 3rd world hell holes out there then there are 1st world countries. theres just no fuckin way we could take in EVERYONE who wants in America.

that's because in this day and age people are being taught, "well if someone can't sow, well the poor little things, that's not THEIR fault. letting someone fail because of their own laziness/ignorance/stupidity would just be cruel" bunch of horseshit

No shes a she, A lesbian, but a she. Those guys (Heidi, Frosty and Frank) are really hilarious. Got taken off the air when I was in the hospital so I didnt get to hear why.
Sorry for the offtopicness.

I gues I should have proof read my response (because I have nothing better to do than to make sure everything is flawless in an internet argument), because I meant "Why isn't the government cracking down on it?"

if I had said "The government should punish businesses for hiring illegal immigrants" someone would have said "but nobody wants to do soandso job for minimum wage", and thus that is where I added "for a fair wage".

Also, I never said Americans were lazy. I said nobody wants to do the job. Thinking a job is beneath you isn't a form of laziness (or so I think). I think its a form of entitlment, which is hilarious because nobody is entitled to anything on this earth.

I also never said I 'knew the facts' on anything. I even admitted that I'm not even from the country, which should sort of indicate that the issues of illegal immigration in the US isn't something I see in the news everyday. When I became an expert on it, I have no idea.

So since I am not American, someone PLEASE tell me what the problem with illegal immigrants are if they aren't taking jobs. That's what I hear day in and day out. Illegal immigrants take jobs and suck up resources (yet a ton of citizens do the same as Cort pointed out).

I mean, geez Ravic, you're here tearing apart my posts, but I haven't heard a single thing on how you feel about illegal immigrants.

I do agree that the problem is that there is no control, and I don't think its fair to natural born citizens and legal immigrants that they are granted protection from the government. Immigration is difficult and I do agree that it is not a process that is taken lightly. A country has a right to exclude certain people in their country, more importantly, the ones who are going to become a ward of country and criminals.

From where I am standing, the population of the US is pissed off that there are illegal immigrants, but nobody (the government) is doing anything about it. It's almost like this problem isn't even going to go away at this rate. Why don't we just make the United States of AmeriCanaMexico and get it over with?

Better idea... Canada = State 51, Mexico = State 52. The southern border of Mexico is a lot smaller than the US southern border... build a giant fucking wall so we don't have the same problem with Belize and Guatemala down the line as we do with Mexico now.

Hardest part of the whole plan would be replacing all the 50 star flags with 52 star flags.

It's not going to go away. And there isn't really much more they can do about it. You can't line every square inch of the border with folks with guns and there isn't enough space in prisons as it is without trying to hold people trying to cross illegally.

People are pissed there are illegals for lots of reasons. Partially because why should they receive the benefits of the freedom of this country without contributing to it? Why should they be allowed to work here, under the table, and pay no income taxes when some 13-15% of legal workers pay (and in some cases much more than that) gets taken out of their check each time? Why should they get to overcrowd neighborhoods where citizens have made their lives the legal way? Why should there be exclusively Spanish-speaking schools springing up because they don't know and have no intention of learning the primary language of the country they are living in (especially when in most American schools, learning at least one foreign language is not an option, it's a requirement)?

People can have the best of intentions - they can want a better life, be willing to work to the bone to get it. But if they're willing to go that far, they need to do it the legal and right way. Anything worthwhile takes time. This is a great country in countless aspects, but people shouldn't get to loaf of the efforts of others' hard work because they're too lazy to take the time to handle it properly. It may be frustrating and time-consuming, but if they truly want to change their lives, they need to commit to it and stop hiding under the radar so they get perks and none of the responsibility that comes with it.

Better idea... Canada = State 51

If that ever happens, which it wont because we're part of the commonwealth and it's incredibly ludicrous to think that would ever happen, I'm getting the hell off of this continent.

I guess I'd say the biggest problem with immigration is the side effects of the lack of documentation, and the transition from the 3rd world countries leaving them lacking. People who don't know the laws of this country, cannot speak the primary language and do not know how to read are potentially dangerous.

They drive around in cars without licenses. They are unaccounted for on census data, increase traffic without a possibility of being fully predicted and therefore adjusted for. They have no car insurance. Which means if they're responsible for an accident then the loss is yours. They have no medical insurance. They don't have all the immunizations that a normal citizen has.

Their kids take up valuable and strained resources in the school system. It's much more expensive to have a non-english speaker in a classroom. The curriculum has to be modified(legally mandated) when you have ESL(English as a Second Language) students in your classroom. You need to modify testing for them, and because the person testing needs to be certified it's a high expense. Not to mention they'll come in at age 15 without the ability to read at all or little or no education. You have to modify your class so they can keep up on some level to the content.

This as a result means that these schools tend to be a lot worse. Not just talking about them bringing down the averages. Rather the modified curriculum and the strain on the budget, coupled with the lack of funds coming in because they don't pay taxes. (Check how much of your town's budget goes into the school system.)

This is also a double whammy. As low income housing brings down real estate prices - so do bad school systems. This is cyclical of course, as it literally brings an area from a "good" area to a "bad" area.

This is even before you take into account the increase of criminal activity.

So yeah, illegal immigration is a serious problem, and no it's not about racism. It is however about the country people are coming from. Every first world country has immigration and some of it illegal, but not on the same level as the US.

It also, if nothing else, makes the US a vastly more conservative country than its other first world counterparts. A socialist society does not work with open borders. You CANNOT be that inviting that people from relative squallor can walk in and expect the same quality of life as you, or else you'll take on ALL THEIR PROBLEMS immediately.

Don't get me wrong, it's not America's only problem. Americans have gotten a lot lazier and certainly become filled on many levels with the belief that life owes them something. People here have also gotten ridiculously out of shape, as a result of laziness if nothing else.

Right now, I have a part time job where I prepare food in a grocery store. We have a register to ring up purchases from our hot line for immediate consumption in the store. Fat people like to take their groceries there instead of walk 20 seconds over to the registers. They will stand there while I am trying to cook something and I have to lose 2 minutes to put what I'm working on down correctly, take my gloves off, ring them up, bag their shit, wash my hands, put on new gloves and get back to work. They will wait there for me to do this, for several minutes if I can't stop because I have an order, rather than walk 30 seconds more than they need to, to the dedicated registers with no lines.

This happens at least once an hour, often more. Now, not from a statistical standpoint, based on second hand stories, or cable news rhetoric, or just generally assumptions based on the media.... rather from my own eyes, this tells me there's something generally lazy and obtrusive about an ever growing portion of Americans. Does having a country full of citizens unwilling to move a fucking muscle more than they need to in order to survive fare well for it? Not at all. Which is why we don't need this illegal immigration bullshit on top of it.

We already have ourselves paying, without any choice, into this social security fund that won't exist by the time most of us are old enough to use it. We're paying a huge chunk of our paychecks every week into a government that is just taking that, and then spending even fucking more to put us into debt, and the vast majority of the population is too disillusioned or just plain lazy to even vote.

The people that are actually working hard, giving up a large percentage of their awake life to contribute to the society are then getting stiffed.

Oh yeah, and all of the money these illegal immigrants make go directly back to their families at home, taking money directly out of our economy into theirs(it actually makes up a sizable amount of the Mexican economy, American money that comes in from illegal immigrant relatives).

Sorry if this seems like a rambling rant, but I just don't like the attitude of so many people that illegal immigration is entirely people's xenophobia against a backdrop of a carefree life with no problems in the magical land of America. Of course some racists may join the bandwagon but that doesn't make the cause incorrect.

Fuck em.

Big difference in my book between immigrants and illegal immigrants. Especially when the illegals in question don't lift a finger to legally make a future here, and tend to get their illegal panties in a bunch.

Here's a clue...You got the right to be sore about jack & shit if you disrespect the country (and its legal citizens) you are using for personal refuge by blatantly ignoring how things are done here.

So...Don't like the Halloween costume? That's one thing. Expressing that I should care about your feelings in trivial matters when you're not willing to live by the law of my land only earns you a hearty, "FUCK OFF!"

If you're fine being a peon, then go right ahead.
Fuck the Queen! Off with `er head!

First: Canada and Mexico becoming states would be a fantastic idea if we brought the Federal Government back to where it's SUPPOSED to be. Where states have the majority of rights.

And to everyone about immigration:

I'm fine being Canadian. It's no where near comparable to a 'peon' thank you very much. Why because the great US of A is such a mass power? We're just quite well behave cousins. Good on us.

It would be a travesty if this country merged and became a state of the US changing our government. Our 'illegals' are under control remember, at least a hell of a lot more than the states. Sheesh we don't need em, you can keep em. We have more secure documentation that's for sure.

I second Mire in saying I would gtfo. Italy here I come.

I love it when people from the US use aggressive speech to show patriotism.

Most of us are lucky to be born here. I've put myself in the shoes of the illegals coming here to work under the table and send money back saving myself very little. It's not attractive but it's something I probably would do if I were in that position where sneaking into a "1st world" country to make 10 more dimes a day would keep my wife and kids fed for another week.

When you get deeper into the study, I saw someone mention something about paying services to the illegals, which is why we should despise them?... I have a few friends who work for the government, that get paid straight from tax money, and a few friends who can't find a job for the light of day. When I speak with the people who are employed at government jobs, they all have the same view, they sit around and do nothing "most of the time" getting paid. While the people who can't find jobs suck a pack of Ramen everyday just to live. So why not direct your vulgarity towards the people who you are paying to sit around instead of directing it all to the few, compared to the tax-employed, who are in here illegally making shit wages and actually mopping your floors, bagging your groceries and scrubbing your public toilets. You can thank the girl who risked her life to smuggle your weed and rail blocks in plastic wrap shoved up her ass. Off with her too right?

I'm not saying all illegals are productive, but I'm sure there is still some type of struggle going on, either way we have it better than "they" do.

Borders are borders, laws are laws, fine, end of the day - we're all still human. To survive and ensure the survival our family, you do what you have to do. For "illegals", it just takes a little more.
