Impatient mfkers in this game

Ok lets see... The time we were supposed to start was 10am pst (jyak asked to be 30 min early as well) and would you like to know when we started our first run? 2pm, yep four god dam hours. I dont believe im the "bitcher" you are talking about, although I may have said something, but anyone that did bitch about it had full right to.

I can handle it if your 15 min late, sometimes even 30. But when its 4 fucking hours? Not only that, when doing it manaburn style its not just one run. It was 4pm by the time I went on my run.

The reason this happened was because not all the blm's that were signed up came, so I can understand why it was so late. From what i've experienced this happens alot with qcdn events.

My Avatar runs and Rank missions scheduled through events here have been perfect. If we ran late, it was 5-10 minutes tops. And these were 8 people for Avatars and I think it was 14 of us for the rank missions. So, that said, you've obviously had negative experiences thus far using the QCDN Events planning board. However, it does not always work that way. It could just be when it comes down to DM, or the huge group of blm's.

Organizing a BLM alliance is like organizing a Concert of Divas, you KNOW the event is doomed to start late...

SE didn't give BLM's Haste.

Gave them Warp

If something starts 4 1/2 hours late, I blame leadership and not the members. It's obviously too lenient. If they can't show up and do it, they're not getting paid. If you say you're coming and no show, then you won't be paid for the next two trips (not including the one you missed). Seriously, resposibility is taught at a young age and is learned as you grow older. Charisma and leadership is something that comes naturally, and it taught. Too strict and you drive people away, too nice and you'll be taken advantage of. Find the median and you'll more than likely avoid this 4 hour downtime bullshit.

Yeah I see what your saying, but Jyak is a good leader. He was strick, but the problem was that blm's had to be pulled from all places that hadn't planned on coming. However I do remember him saying that he'd flame any blm's that ditched, not sure the situation on that. I think what happened was multiple blm's pulled out the day before the event, told jyak, but it was too late to really replace them.

personally i am one of those impatient motherfuckers that you are refering to and i am damn proud to be one... personally that is the reason that i am not an LS leader is that i dont have the patience.. the way i look at it is that if the LS message says were popping at 8 you pop the mob at 8, not 801.

If i were a leader and i wanted to pop genbu for example if i had it scheduled for 8 i would pop it at 8 or cancel. you set that expectation a few times and ... ding ding ding, people show up on time or you get better players.

The situation is a result of lazy fuckers who know that events are not going to start on time.

BTW i am the one bitching most of the time because i have shit to do outside of the game almost always and i have just straight up left events when they go more than 30 min late for no real valid reason

Excuse me? i setup that event... how the hell is it my fault that people decide to flake or tell me 10 minutes before an event is happening that they arent showing up... or they decide to come way late... i setup this event with the proper BLMS necessary to make the run, as well as everyone who signed up mapped out and confirmed to come 2 days before the event. I sent tells to most everyone that had signed up.. I went through all the proper pathways necessary to setup this event... Is it my fault people dont care enough to not tell me that they arent coming?

I agree kotsu, however what is the happy medium when it comes to QCDN. I mean when people dont care enough to come out even though they agree to come to an event 2 days prior... Is that still considered leadership responsibility? you do have to find a happy medium, however it is difficult when enough people dont give a damn about an event they sign up for.

I'm not saying that this is your fault im saying what do you expect the way that people have been caudled by LS leaders in this game. You did everything right until the event started. I wasnt a part of your event but when you realized that it was not going to be ontime you should have located everyone that was supposed to come and if they were on tell them they have 30 min til your going in. If they are not on then replace them. If they cannot be replaced go in with what you got or reschedule. If people are too bitchy to reschedule then cancel but dont sit there for 4 hrs. All you are doing is penalizing the people who are ontime making the problem worse the next time you go to do something.

History is the problem you just let it continue.

If i'm not mistaken, if there were some BLMs that had signed up and weren't present... then technically doesn't that mean there wouldn't be a full alliance? And wouldn't that mean, success would be more than unlikely without a full alliance?

To a degree, yes events should be started when they're scheduled to. You shouldn't be waiting for a long period of time (though in my books, up to 15 minutes is fair if you're told that someone's going to be running late) and people who show up on time shouldn't be penalized by having to wait even longer. But, you need to keep in mind if people that are necessary to the event's success aren't present, then you can't just waltz in and do the event. Sure you can try, but honestly do you want to risk the chance of losing experiences points, and wasting everyone's time by failing?

If the event was a total of 4hrs late, I probably would of asked everyone to call it quits after an hour. But as it seems, there were people that were willing to wait because this event isn't the easiest to plan and organize because nowadays, there are very few linkshells that have the man power to do this and would be willing... and those that would be willing to do it for their fellow linkshell members, well they just don't have the manpower. So in the end, if at least some people who were able to wait go the event good for them.

And while leadership is suppose to be held accountable for whether an event is a success or not, if the leader goes through the means of /telling everyone and posting consistently as a reminder, then in my opinion the blame needs to be directed on those that don't have the consideration to be responsible enough to show up for the event, and instead waste other people's time. Its not like Jyakotsu could of physically gone to the house of all those that didn't show, bang on their door and force them to come. He seems to have actually put an effort into keeping in touch with all those that signed up, and unfortunately no matter how hard you try... you're always going to find lazy players in this game who just don't care about anyone but themselves.

When that happens, remember their name and make sure not to make the same mistake again in trusting them.

when jyak sent me a tell asking me if i was comming out i was in the middle of getting ready for kirin, but i left and joined the dm alliance cause i told him i would help

people in this game (as true in real life) think about nobody but themselves and its sad

first off, i did not force anyone who was there to stay, the blms wanted to get paid.. and the non blms wanted the earring. No one was forced to stay

Secondly i was in search of blms since 30 minutes after the event.. You said it yourself you were not present so you do not know the talking i did with the NON blm Alliance leader, nor do you know the communications of which i did with the blm pt. I am not going to cancel an event for others who came on time, it is their perogative to stay and wait it out like i did or to move on and try to get it done on their own... Many of whom stayed and got their earrings. So IMO it was worth their time. If you werent there y ou dont know the situation... fanning a situation such as this without prior information is like trying to instigate a deaf man by yelling at him. Please just stop lol

*edit* for a blm manaburn same as a MNK TP burn, you need minimum 16blms to go in or else it is Almost a fail. So you cannot go in with what u have at hand if you do not have correct jobs available

and i told u several times i was very greatful and still am tok.

Im not involved in this situation thats why i have tried to make it more about being late to events in general rather than this specific event. The only reason i went into detail about your event specifically was because you asked.

hopefully i didnt offend you specifically because that was not my intention

I am just hopeing that people will grow up and come to things when they say that they will because it sucks on a weekly basis waiting 1 hrs for gods 3 times a week 1 hr twice a week for limbus and dynamis. Thats 7 hrs per week that i am standing there doing nothing because inconsiderate fucktards dont understand what a watch is for.

I'm punctual rl and in-game. Fucking slackers like you waste my time. Events don't start at "1-ish", they start at 1, so just be there. If you have shit to do, logout there then you'll be there asap when you login. It isn't hard to not be the jackass who makes a group start late.
QFT

After reading this thread, I'd like to say I was there. I was scheduled to be out of town so I wasn't going to sign up to do it, but Jyak's a friend so he asked me to come. While i was there there was a big scramble to get enough BLM to come. I mean Jyak was doing all he could to get people there, and I also tried to get as many people as I could remember from BLMonry to come. People just don't understand its not the guy who shows up 5 min late that you should bitch at nor is it the member who shows up 30 min late; at least they made the effort. It's the 16th BLM to show up or the BLM that is sitting in whitegate with his fucking flag up on his PUP wondering why he isn't getting a party.

It wouldn't force everone, but threatening to cry on the forums about ppl leaving your failed manaburn would keep some people from leaving.

Also good leaders don't threaten to flame ppl when they don't get their way.

Cue Khidir.
