Impatient Party Leader

I'm by no means trying to give the "don't be mean" crap. My issue is the derailing more so. Some people derailed other threads and were forced to make a flame on their own. I just think that the people complaining should make their own flame about vandoura.

I for one, originally clicked this thread to read about what the op implied, but it has turned into something else.

Normally I don't care if threads in the fb are derailed, but then every thread should be allowed to be derailed and I don't think that's the case.

Its just another thread that backfires (although not in the usual way) at the OP which happens all the time when people post on the flameboard. If there is a derail is the people going back and forth about whether or not its proper to be making fun of them. The flame was stupid as fuck to begin with. Its a flame about shit that's happened to most people that have been playing for a long time and there wasn't really much room for any type of resolution.

And I'd really hate to see a flame that was strictly about "Hey fuck you, you suck at typing and have bad grammAr!" That'd be even dumber.

What the shit, my original slam on Vandoura's "English fail" was an aside. The thread turning into an argumentative shitstorm over the merit of grammar, and the propriety of correcting another person's diction or usage, was a direct result of a bunch of stubborn "No, U" attitudes.

Fuck, the thread was progressing quite nicely right up until this example of attempting to act like Sir Galahad of the Internet.

Before my first post the were 8 posts regarding her grammar. Look who's being anal now.

My post was rebutted and with not quite every response to my post(s) I had to embellish it seems. Simply because people on this site seem to enjoy dissecting the living shit out choice words and/or context. So it's my turn to feel the need to defend.

If find it humorous that we all should be open to accepting the 'creative criticism' of the proper use of grammar on the internet and writing etiquette, however my expecting you all to accept 'creative criticism' that maybe just maybe you're acting like pompous snobs is somehow unjust or over the top....

You do have a point with Palides trying to ignite a heated argument, maybe this couldve been avoided.

However, i think if were holding this thread to the standards of the boards, the FB that is. The derailing should be taken into another topic/thread. Ill agree with you in thinking this incident wasnt flame worthy (Getting replaced), its happened to everyone and its up to the party leader to do as he wishes, so long as people follow.

I dont think that taken this to another thread, makes it any dumber than arguing about it here.

I'm not trying to get the last word here.. but much like someone else said, when I'm addressed I will 'defend' myself. Although I don't feel as though I'm being attacked so defend isn't the best choice word.

Much too often on this site do people flex their anal retentive muscles, it's seriously tiring and annoying to continue to see this type of behavior, more so than someone making shitty threads or writing terribly altogether. I don't understand the need to over analyze the shit out of EVERYTHING. I knew after my very first post that this would be the outcome of my protest. Hoping, that maybe, someday, people will see just how pointless it is to berate others. (I'm not pointing any one person out here, so when I see 'I'm not'.. blahblah, well it just kinda screams guilty conscious)

A large portion of posts in this thread have been in bad taste. You don't have to be nasty about it for it to be in bad taste either. They're the equivalent of personal attacks, which is always in bad taste. That's just me. I saw no point to the negative attention she was paid in response to her venting.

Like I said, if I'm being addressed or mocked for that matter, damn straight I'm going to reply to it.

I personally agree with Dino's statement of this is the flameboard, it's made to talk shit in. I did not post in this thread to directly talk shit as much as I was sharing my opinion and agreeing with individuals about a topic. I'm sorry, but most flames get thrown off-topic anyway. I mean, I don't know if this is your first flame you posted in that got thrown off-topic or something, but it happens a lot. Go check all them flames and see how many ended with something that does not have to do with anything about the OP.

And again, I'm sorry, but I kinda don't like how you are making this like your opinion is law. Just because you THINK that correcting people is rude and bad taste, does not mean it IS rude and bad taste. I do not think it is rude or bad taste to help someone by correcting their mistakes. Go look at my profile and see what Linhjah posted in my Visitor Messages. I definitely didn't think it was rude of her for correcting me. As I said, I encourage people to correct me so I can learn from my mistakes and not repeat them. Whether or not you do it in a proper tone is up to you. Either way, I'm going to learn from it unless it's something I already know and was just too lazy to do it.

No one's saying there's a requirement, but if you post like you're sounding out the speech from half the cast in Sling Blade, get ready to be picked on. Its no different than people making fun of that Snowballing dude for acting all gangsta, yo.

And if anyone's going to have a fit about someone getting their balls broken about their grammar on the Flameboard, find another fucking area of the forum to go to. This is the area to diss and talk shit.

For those of you that thought the site was getting a little too carebear before, take a look now. And for those of you saying to find something better to do with your time besides making cracks about someone's horrid use of the english language and even going as far as implying racism, you're making a bigger waste of your time with all these multi-paragraphed "don't be mean" posts.

Dino said it best in my opinion.

And again, I'm sorry, but I kinda don't like how you are making this like your opinion is law. Just because you THINK that correcting people is rude and bad taste, does not mean it IS rude and bad taste.

and I reiterate

If find it humorous that we all should be open to accepting the 'creative criticism' of the proper use of grammar on the internet and writing etiquette, however my expecting you all to accept 'creative criticism' that maybe just maybe you're acting like pompous snobs is somehow unjust or over the top....

Just because you 'think' you're helping her by 'offering' her correction (which is not easily recognizable by the choice deliverance in said correction) does not mean it's not rude or in bad taste. Much like I quoted above, double standards?

I mean honestly, this could go on and on, I'm just quite literally baffled, now anyway, that many seem to struggle with recognizing bad behavior or ignorant, snide or otherwise belittling comments they make. I'm not saying "i win!", I can see everyone's point, BUT there are few that see mine as blatant as it is..

Typed dialogue in this day and age is much more important than it's ever been. If you have a hard time typing your point across, or even using correct punctuation and spelling/diction/syntax, then you should try a little harder understanding and using the one language you have grown up with. To say people type one way on this forum and speak/type differently outside of this forum, I don't agree with that. If that's the case, they are lazy as shit.

Besides, all those annoying little red fucking lines when you misspell something drives my crazy!

Well seems like I'm the one picking fights with everyone, so I'll just gracefully bow out.

That IS what someone is supposed to do when met with defeat on the internet is it not?

Sorry that was snide, but I know it.

Sorry that was snide, but I know it.

You're in the rìght place for snide. You're starting to catch on. Keep the "play nice boys" stuff for an area of the forum where it makes sense and not an area where being nice isn't exactly encouraged.

Where is my "SCREAM IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER" icon. . .
