I'm sure most of you have noticed the ever increasing price on Imperial Wootz Ingots through out the last month. At first I myself chalked it up to the economy finally beginning to stabilize, since other farming item have also risen to a decent price range for farming. Ie: Silk Threads, Nebimonites, etc.

Tonight I was talking to a friend who is 100+3 Smithing, who informed me that she believes that the one seller to most of the price jacking maybe actually be RMT.

Pqrst, I'm sure most of you have seen his name a lot ont he price history.

Also, this name might be assisting in the price jacking as well.

Byla, the only thing on her price history is Imperial Wootz Ingots and Scrolls that come from NPC's.

Now, obviously it's not just the RMT. Khroma Ores/Imperial Wootz Ingots have become very rare lately compared to the demand foe them.

But if you look at our price history on Imperial Wootz Ingots compared to other servers, we are officially highest priced Ingots on all servers.

I'm kinda of glad I finished my Morrigan's Robe when i did, because this scam is getting kind of ridiculous. But I guarantee you I will not upgrade another body for this price.

Just posting this to help shed some light on the situation for those that haven't noticed.

Isnt Byla a player.. and apparently one who doesnt know how to find NPCs... i believe they are the husband of Tenia or something like that...

She's selling the scrolls on the AH. If you research the scrolls she sells on the AH. They all come from the same NPC in Lower Jeuno, except for Repose.

Well then they may be working together to jack up the prices i was more or less just eluding to the point that he is a player not a RMT.

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. I was pointed the name out by my friend, so I looked up is AH history. But, Pqrst's history is the big one here.

Granted the low supply/high demand is not helping the situation any. But Pqrst because of Pqrst's price jacking, the player base is in reponse jacking up the Khroma Ores. Just making it it a kind of stupid price.

Atm Salvage Bodies cost 16M+ because of him.

And the ONLY thing on his Price History is Imperial Wootz Ingots and ingredients.

Well, it is 1,201,000 gil or so to make each Imp. Wootz Ingot, buying straight off the AH. Looks to me like a crafter covering himself for the assumed chance of loss on his investment by corning the market on Khroma Ore as much as he can.

Ever since I finished my Robe I've actually been watching the price out of curiosity.

And the Ingot price goes up BEFORE the Khroma Ore Price. If it was a crafter trying to cover his ass. It should be other way around.

If you watch the history thought. The Khroma Ore price is actually going up in reponse to the higher Ingot price.

Your right about this! Byla has been selling mages scroll for a long time, I don't believe he is working with the RMT, he might just be the lucky one to buy the ingots of the name player/rmt can't but blame on that.

The Khroma Ore history is only showing today, so I can't comment on one vs the other.

It still looks like the crafter getting whatever he can out of the market. The miners just profit because they can squeeze more out of the crafter.

Also, if you notice Pqrst buys most of the Ingots ingredients on the AH, no matter what time one it was bought at. Like he doesn't take a break from the AH.

Now I understand some players have more play-time than others. But his buy rate is kind of oddly superior to everyone else. Like he camps it 24-7.

time zone* (stupid no edit button)

There is an AH bot, I have no idea how effective it is. Don't know of anyone who has personally tried it. Just heard about it, if the guy is legit ( well besides the bot part) then he could be using that to corner the market in his favor.

I don't think Pqrst is rmt. I recently needed ingots for upgrade and a friend of mine helped me out by dealing directly with this person, who apparently is a jp player's crafting mule.

There really isn't much of a profit to be made on ingots, if you buy all the ingredients needed, and if you break you lose 1mil+. Also, there seems to be a constant shortage of ingredients - i camped the AH for 8 hours straight and managed to get 4 ingots only. Made me cry when i checked the stock on my old server and there was 31 ingots for sale there ; ;

I give you credit for finding the price fixing. As a crafter I buy all my ingredients and do the majority of selling via mules, just found it has always been more beneficial to my game play to keep business on mules and just worry about it when I am in a crafting mood.

This price is pretty frustrating. 16 mil is too much.

I can tell you this: last week I got two Khroma ores from the ashu talifs. The first ore We put up for 500k ( going price). 3 seconds later im checking delivery box and its sold.. for 510k. A few days after we get another one. price was already at 550k lol... We put it for 550 and it sells again instantly for 560... good for us, but there are clearly AH bots.

Last month there was a player buying wootz ore for 130 then turning around and AH then for 160.

I'm so confused, is this not simply a supply and demand problem, really not worthy of a flame at all?

It is a bannable offense to force the market up on an item by buying up all an item and reselling at a high/extremely low price. So people who go through and buy up say 10 wootz ores at 100k, then resell them the same day or a few days later at 140k just to drive the price up is a SE nono. This was done to reduce how much rmts could make off the AH. People then see the jacked up price as the sale history for last 10 items then sell at that price thinking it is the norm. So an item that should be 700-800k is now 1.2 mil. When I made my ares top the ignots were 770k-800k.

You can try to say supply and demand, but the ores and the ignots themselves drop from many different events. Only wootz ore is a single event found item. Einehjar, ANNM drop Khorma ore and Imp. wootz ignots. ISNM and the pirate thing drop Khorma ore as well. Both are once a rl day event. You can also mine the ore if you want to battle the rmt mining bots.

Actually, the RMT mining in Mount Zhayolm is pretty much gone atm. I go up there from time to time.

I remember a few months back there would be RMT all over the place. Last month or so though, only competition I really have up there is real players like me.

I do believe there is somewhat of a shortage in supply, even with ANNM, Einherjar, ISNM, etc. But not THIS much.

And if Pqrst is a real player, that character must be a serperate account that never logs. I /sea'd him a few times since I made this post. And every time(no matter time of day) he's always online in Lower Jeuno.

I have not once seen him offline yet.
