Imperial Wootz Ingot Scam?

Byla has been selling scrolls for years. It's his money maker. He does it daily. And people buy those scrolls off the AH.

It is Tenia's husband. They do not live in China, they don't sell Gil for money. lol

He's probably just making some money off of the buy/sell game.

What I'm wondering is, why are people still buying them. Must have the cash to blow

I used to say the same thing, but after I started leveling BLM and BRD a little bit, I came to the conclusion that I'd much rather spend an extra 1-5k then go hunt down spells and songs on the three corners of the world. I know the prices get steeper on the higher end of spells (10k jack-up on Repose), but especially pre-50, when you're grinding out 2-3 levels a clip, I'm willing to pay for the convenience more times than not.

I can understand convenience but an increase almost 6mil overall? Maybe its just people who only need 1-4 and don't mind it so much. I was coming very close to having the gil to buy them b4 they spiked, but being that its been 1 year since I started salvage and I'm still 0/3 on my body, didn't see the point in buying yet. I definitively will not buy now.

It is a bannable offense to force the market up on an item by buying up all an item and reselling at a high/extremely low price. So people who go through and buy up say 10 wootz ores at 100k, then resell them the same day or a few days later at 140k just to drive the price up is a SE nono. This was done to reduce how much rmts could make off the AH. People then see the jacked up price as the sale history for last 10 items then sell at that price thinking it is the norm. So an item that should be 700-800k is now 1.2 mil. When I made my ares top the ingots were 770k-800k.

On what is this claim based? This is pure economics, if there are people willing to buy at your offering price, they do. Once there is a drop in demand at the higher price, the prices will stabilize at a new price point.

I know this sucks for people when they are a buyer, but it IS an auction, items go to the highest bidder. Anyways, I'd like to see the line in the rules that says this practice is a bannable offense, or maybe a GM screenshot.

Ingots are 1.03M here on Asura.
Just thought I'd mention that.

SE caught RMTs trying to force the prices on the AH a few years ago. SE bans them everytime they are seen. Check the banning data. Why do you think SH no longer cost 7 mil. The rmts had been buying khorma ores back when salvage first started. They forced prices high buy buying all and reselling it inflated. SE did not allow it, so the prices then dropped back doen to an average of 800k.

SH used to cost seven million because RMT weren't banned and the gil they generated was not being regularly pulled out of circulation. It had far less to do with them price jacking (virtually all the price jacking I encounter is done by legitmate players) and more to do with the fact that they was just way to much money floating around.

When SH was 7 million I used to be able to make 900k LEGITAMATELY in 2-3 hours from fishing. EVERYTHING was hyperinflated. As crazy as it sounds I was certaining in a much better financial position BEFORE SE decided to start banning rmts even after adjusting for inflation. It used to be much easier to make a buck even with the higher prices.

I'll have to agree, making money was much easier back then, i could make 5-20mil in a day easy just by checking bazaars for a good deal and selling on AH with no problems at all.. man I miss all of the mommy's boys buying gil and making me rich...

How is that a ScAm?
