Wtf has been happening these past 2-3 weeks? Is it just me... or has the economy gone haywire? It doesn't seem like it's just this server either. I've seen people complaining about other servers going through a similar price trend. Biggest example of my concerns would be the apparent jump in Hauby prices.

This doesn't seem like just your average "Oh the prices are rising again" issue. Only reasons I can think of are X-mas break=more people playing longer and more people getting X-mas money and making trips to IGE? I dunno... whatever it is sucks.

what's haub at now, I haven't been on in a bit.

Last I heard... forgot to check AH... it was at like 10 mil. But it was like 5.5 2 days ago.

Haubergeon and Hauberk are both 8 mil now.

SH jumped to 10mil.

new thread titles:

WTS: Haubergeon, 5 ARs (astral rings)
WTB: Genie weskit 25 ARs
WTS: Assault earring 1 AR

yay for the SoJ economy

Yeah, I've noticed the prices on almost everything go up. It's really annoying and makes me angry..but oh well.

My spirit torque that i got for like 30k is worth like 450k now >_> Jeebus.

lmfao... I could sell my Hauby for friggin 5.4 million more gil than I bought it for in the first place.. *thinks about it*

A lot of people seem to think that gilbuying translates to inflation, but it doesnt. The only thing that causes inflation is more money coming from game to players.

so our economy all of a sudden got millions upon millions of gil to blow on these items within the past 2 weeks?

I have a sneaky suspicion that there are a bunch of people who have been away at school for a while and doing light farming the whole time. Now that they are on their winter breaks they want to get that Hauby or SH they've been saving up for so they can use it to level durring break. Not that they couldn't just be buying the gil for the same reasons, but I try to be an optimist.

True it doesn't directly cause inflation, however it definitely contributes. People who buy gil haven't put the time and effort into actually earning it, therefore they don't care about it nearly as much. Because of that they're much more willing to spend that extra million gil on Hauby or SH,etc. which leads to an increase in prices.

Sorry guys, I got bored the other day and pushed the Inflate AH prices button. You know, to jazz it up some; apperently I caused headaches. On the bright side, if you get a stack of light crystals, you can sell them for 9-10k easy. :)

I've noticed that during the event hardly any crystals were in stock. During that Dream Robe event, crystals are quite in limited supply. From that period, I noticed the crystal prices shot up by 2000-3000 gil.

Well....I know the price of materials, especially the highter level ones (ie Rainbow Cloth) are going up constantly thanks to SE killing drop rates and making the BCNM pay-offs worse all the damn time. I've done 9 KS30 "Operation Desert Swarms" and haven't seen a decent crafting item drop at anytime...especially a V.Claw.

I just paid 3.65 million gil for a pair of cursed mitts....why....because I had to or I would never get my Zenith Mitts. I understand the person who made them probably paid a fortune for the ingredients and they take a gamble everytime they synth....it could break and they would lose millions of gil.

Prices will only continue to rise I'm sad to say unless SE gets their collective thumb out and does something that DOESN'T screw players when they try to EARN gil for themselves.

Thank you.

I think they should add more desynth things like the subligars but for other crafts. It would help to take a little more gil out of the economy.

gilbuying does lead to inflation due to the fact that gilsellers hord millions of gil that is out of circulation until it is purchased and mailed out.

Oh, btw. SH is 15mil now. SH+1 is at 17mil o.O
And what the heck is going on with water animas? I checked yesterday to see if i could make some money selling the ones i crafted for skilling up alchemy and water animas are 2mil for a stack!? The others range from 80-300k at most.

I took a break for about 6 months and almost had an heart attack when i got back and saw the prices. Silly me sold some of the "cheap" equipment back then. Man if i knew survival belt would go from 10k to 1mil i would've kept it lol.

It's also a gamble to make money with alchemy. I'd like to know hy the HQ rate of beeswax is so low even when you're 70+ levels over cap for example while you make konstant HQs of bolts with woodworking only 40 levels above cap lol.

SE realy screws us players a bit too much. Drop rates of rare drops with TH are better than without? LOL
A friend of mine and i camped Emperor some time ago before the patch. He's a Nin and i camped with TH2. Guess who of us was 9/34 and who 0/29?
Hey SE you messed up TH it's a THF TRAIT NOT NIN.

I understand all crafters and see why the prices of the things they can make go up. They take the risk of losing millions on just one synth only to get maybe 100k more than they spent for the materials and if they have a break nobody cares.

NM camping is another thing that bothers me. 1-2 hours respan is ok. 24+ hours is still not too bad if you know the ToD but it's hard to compet with gilsellers who camp 24/7 and don't bother about mpking your party.
Sadly there are many players like me who don't have 12 hours a day to play. And in FF you can realy say "Time is money".

Maybe the price for some items should be limited so that jacking prices won't work too good.
