Well, as the title says, I have a small case of insomnia. I stay up until about 3 or 4 in the morning and don't get up until 11 or 12. This has been happening for the past two or three weeks and the only time I seem to get any sleep is when I get laid (which, oddly enough, doesn't happen as often as it should. Damn school work). I can't make myself go to sleep. Drinking tea, reading and even work don't seem to make me sleep any earlier than 2am. Anyone know of anything I could do to help get my sleeping schedule back on track? I'm not a big fan of sleeping medication unless I'm sick, and I usually don't have time to sleep every night for 8 hours. I know chamomile is supposed to help calm you, but I'm already calm I just can't sleep.

Any ideas?

How YOU doing?!

lol j/k

Hi, I am in same boat. But I am up because I actually get bored while sleeping, so my body prevents me from sleeping because it doesn't like to be bored. I have actually been training myself to fall asleep in my computer chair which is kind of a good and bad thing. The good thing is I can fall asleep easier now because my body is in a position it knows is usually not boring. The downside is that now even if I don't want to fall asleep and I sit in my chair, I start to get a bit drowsy.

I have constant insomnia. My body just doesn't like to sleep till I'm completely drained. Try staying up for 24+ hours or something and do a full night rest that way. It might help a little.

Been having hte same problem lately. Usually I go to bed by 11-12, but as of recently I've been staying up til 3~4am and having to get up between 8~10am. ><;

Good luck getting rid of your insomnia.. if you figure out how to get rid of it, please lemme know.

I can't sleep sometimes because of stress.

Booze helps. &, recently, vicoden.

Who sleeps

You don't.

Realia, try working out for an hour or so sometime during the day before bed. Or, if its the 'laid' problem >_> um.... Take some personal time >_>; then try to go to sleep?

hmm.. coulda just said since you're not getting laid go an masterbate an see if that helps. :P but ya know.. "personal time" works too. :)

I've tried all those so called "natural remedies" that people always say work to help getting to sleep; none of them have worked. I was on ambien for awhile but that shit makes me weird, so I'm on nothing now. Haven't slept since Sunday ;x

*cough* >_>; well I suppose that does work, yes.

I dont know, my schedule was all effed up for a while and I got pretty dependant on only a few hours of sleep (maybe 3-4). Like Myrrh said, I stayed up for a long time (weekend) and finally let my body collapse comfortably into sleep. Maybe that'll do the trick >_> Otherwise... B.O.B.

I read the first post and couldn't find a clean way of suggesting she diddle her doozle before going to bed. There's really no way for a male stranger to suggest that without sounding mega creepy.

eww that can't be good on the neck and back. I know if I did this I would not be able to stand next day.

This explains alot.
heh heh just kidding

Insomnia sucks and would not wish it on anyone. Especially if it goes on for days like above. Realia I have similar sleep schedule to you and alot the reason this can happen is due to you not getting enough activity to cause you to get tired, or some event happen that make you stay up to a later time then your use to, but now your body is use to that time schedule so you continue to get tired at that time. My advice would be to try to pull a all nighter to get yourself back on the right time. Worked for me in the past might work for you. Other things that can cause this is different sleeping arrangements, climate change, stress, If you are suffering because one of those see below.

NyQuil, NyQuil, NiQuil we love you; the big f**king Q
is a great remedy.

try going for a late afternoon run.. i personally have very little advise... i only sleep about 1.5-2.5 hrs in a 24hr period and i have had this since i was 17 so .. long time no sleepy... i think for me.. its like i just feel like there is something productive i should be doing so sleep is last in line.. also from 5 yrs of graveyard.. it will mess joo up . So thats what they tell me.. try to up your physical activities.. avoid caffiene later in the evening.. stuff like that.. Hope that helpz

Otherwise... B.O.B.

Omg... >_> lol. <3 B.O.B

I gave myself insomnia staying up until 5-6 a.m writing Anthropology papers. I still can't go to bed any earlier than midnight, and if I don't have to get up in the morning, I'll sleep in as late as I can. I blame University =/

The whole getting laid to get to sleep sounds kinda like a sweet deal though. I don't have any advice, but I've heard that the up for 24 hours trick has worked for some.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't insomnia. This is just a messed up sleep schedule. Best way to fix it is to pull an all nighter and go to sleep at a decent hour the next night.
