Okay. I've cut myself trying to do this(not emo cut but i'm an idiot and wasn't paying attention cut on a nail) and i can't seem to get it right. I've gone over shit on the web and the papers that it came with. I just can't figure this out. From what i can gather i'm missing the cord with slave on it or w/e. There is only one main line from my old HD going into my computer.

I bought a 160 gig internal HD for Desktop pcs. No disks came with it. just a HD.

If anyone can help can you dumb it down the best you can?

Thanks.

Edit: I FUCKING HATE THESE COCK SUCKING COMPUTERS. THEY CAN BURN IN A FIREY PIT OF ACID AND SHIT IN HELL AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Have you tried kickin it?

Myrrh... do you know if its an IDE or SATA hdd? After you find that out, do you know if your motherboard even has IDE (or more likely), SATA connecters?

did you plug in the 4 pin power connecter?

did you put the jumper (the little pins with a plastic thing on it) to slave?

Post a pic of the HD and your Motherboard and well have a better time fixing it.

Missed this, Best Buy, and nearly all retailers overprice their cords by insane amounts.

Newegg.com... tis all you need.

true, i admit best buy is gunna sell it for around 300% for what it's worth, compUSA would give you a better deal definetly.. but ya.

you'd have to use 3-8 day land freight if you got it over the net, paying 5-ish dollars for a dollar or 2 cord

if i knew ya personally, i could just give ya one of mine.. i have TONS

yeah i have 4 SATA connecters and 3 IDE master/slave cables...

i run through computers too often, rip em up, keep what i might need, and sell the rest.

External or Bust. We know you're just using it for video/image/video storage anyways. I swear, both you and JJ got had.

It cost me 50 bucks for it. I don't see how i was had.

i would of done it for a case or beer or a pack of smokes, you got screwed son.

It cost me 50 bucks for the HD, Hillz. Not 50 bucks for someone to install it.

My pron is all on teh intarweb bookmarks... stream ftw!

It gets old after a while.

but damnit its time to make this post about me... i got a new processer and fan, and the fan came with one use thermal paste... well jee whiz i screw it up and have to move the fan, thus making the thermal paste un usable.
Now im stuck with a very hot CPU and no fan to fix it til teusday when i get Arctic Silver 5 from Newegg /sigh

There are cheap external HDs out there unless you know what you are doing to your PC, only go with external HDs the only bad point is they cost more then a normal HD. Also i have not seen 1 Terra external HD yet.
