I'm installing windows xp home edition and I'm quite stuck from the beginning.
When the computer rebooted, it asked which Os to start: Xp pro or Xp setup. I don't want pro because that's my old OS and I'm trying to wipe it along with everything on my PC for this new XP. when I pick xp set up, I don't get anything except a blank black screen with a little white _ blinking at the top left.
I'm then left with pressing F8 for advanced options or troubleshooting for the following:
Safe Mode
Safe Mode w/ Networking
Safe Mode w/ Command Prompt
Enable Boot Logging
Enable VGA Mode
Last known good configuration
Directory Services Restore Mode (windows domain controllers only)
Debugging Mode
Disable automatic restart on system failutre
Starts windows normally
reboot
return to OS choices menu
The last paragraph doesn't do anything for me, reboot gets me back to where I am, start windows normally gets me back to my computer the way it was, and OS choices back to before.
I'm googling my ass off right now looking for windows xp walk through's to work with this. Other then that I don't want to play around with it because knowing me I'd fuck it up.
