So Cheebs and I were talking about this in the Chatbox a few minutes ago, and I figured "What the hell, I might as well inaugurate the return of QCDN(Eosun) with a fun bit of controversy".

FUCK YES IT'S OKAY TO HIT GIRLS.

It's been cropping up a lot recently on Youtube that I've noticed, videos of women starting fights with a man, which ends pretty much how you'd expect when the man fights back.

No offense ladies, but there's a reason men pretty much ruled the world for the vast majority of humanity's existence on the planet. The average man is bigger, stronger, tougher, and faster than the average woman. Not just in absolute terms, but on a pound-for-pound basis as well. About the only physical thing women are better than men at are events where a higher percentage of body fat comes in handy, like famines, or distance swimming in hostile environments.

The interesting thing is the reaction people have in a lot of these videos. They're generally silent when the fight starts, but once the man strikes back, they immediately rally behind the woman who started the fight.

Hypocrisy is alive and well, dancing on the grave of chivalry.

I believe there is a HUGE difference in attacking a woman and defending yourself.

I don't think a man should ever initiate a fight with a woman, I don't think that when he can physically subdue a woman (IE restrain) to make her stop hitting him that he should strike her. Now when the woman isn't your average woman, she works out a lot and throws a punch like a man, or there is a group of women attacking one man... if they are going to dish it, they better be ready to receive the hell that is coming their way.

I say fuck them bitches up! It's infuriating to see women accosting men with this false sense of security that in no way should the abused retaliate. Bullying is bullying. And I've always maintained the opinion that if I, in anger, punch a man with all my force he can and should defend himself. If he hits me back and knocks me out, oh well. Hopefully his smack doesn't jar my brain and render me a vegetable.

For years *we* fought for equality, well now we have it. These broads need to use their brainpans. I know that most men would lay me out with 1 solid smack... and I'm not going to lie, I have gotten in my fair share of mens faces, but usually for justifiable reasons to the average person. However, I've never attacked a man. I have been hit by 1 though, actually sucker punched. But he was a pussy, obviously, and got a square beating for his actions.

Oh and for arguments sake, women are much better at Jiu Jitsu =p

I agree with this 100%

There is no honor in starting a physical with a woman. Even if she is batshit crazy. If she can be restrained, yes that should be your initial method.

Well at least even if we can't agree on good beer, we can agree on this ha

Well frankly, I took the "don't start fights with girls" bit as self-evident; in a civilized society, you shouldn't start a fight with anyone if you can possibly avoid it.

I do maintain, however, that there are times when a swift pop in the mouth can head off something that might become significantly more dangerous if its allowed to continue.

That having been said, the video we were discussing:

He does his job, she gets belligerent, words are exchanged from both sides, she slaps him for it, he walks away, she jumps the counter and continues the assault, he gets tired of it and beats her with a metal rod.

In this situation, actually, I think if he'd hit her back before she jumped the counter the situation might have been resolved before she wound up with a broken arm and a fractured skull.

Ultimately the two women plead out on a burglary charge, and no charges were leveled against the man, though he did wind up losing his job over the incident. Of course, it didn't really help the women's case (that the force he used was excessive) when they were caught threatening to cut him on camera. Even the threat of lethal force can excuse a rather excessive response, after all.

I agree it should be a given, but in today's society I don't really expect too much

Yes, recent years. I've come across many videos trending where grown men deck women in public. A bus driver, the McDonalds cashier, a BIG black dude who sucker punched a woman and subsequently got his shit handed to him by an MMA fighter...

There have always been the type to hit, beat on or couldn't care less whether they got physical with women. There always will. But most men, or at least a large portion would likely try everything to avoid getting into a physical altercation with a woman. For many reasons really. I think the biggest being how they could handle it. A lot of men wouldn't really know what to do, critical thinking would fall flat. A lot would try to restrain their attacker, while others would 'fend them off' by shoving at them etc, and more would take a swing. Personally, as a woman who can throw a punch, I know what force I can pack behind a proper punch is no where near the power the average man would have behind a proper punch. If I were to start shit with a man and assault him in anyway, especially punch him, and I got a nice smack in the mouth, I'd have no one to blame but myself. And if he knocked my teeth out it would be a very expensive lesson.. but it would be mine.

If they're a threat, I don't think it matters age, gender, race, religion, etc. It's ok to hit em >.> but if it's just cause you're frustrated with em? Then it's never ok regardless of race, gender, etc etc.

Also, I woulda thought other double standards would piss people off more O.o

The whole Tiger Uppercut Bus Driver incident has yet to fully unfold, by the way.

He was fired from his job in the Cleveland transit authority, but that's a union job, and the union has his back, oddly enough. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out, and whether or not he gets his job back as a result of union pressure.

Regardless, when you get right down to it, the only reason these videos get posted is for the shock value. The whole "OMG I can't believe he hit a girl!" part, to be specific. If it was a man hitting another man, I doubt it would make headlines, or break a few hundred YouTube views.

More importantly, I strongly suspect that the official response would be different. If, in our McDonald's incident, the aggressor had been another man, and he'd jumped the counter and pursued the cashier... do you think the prospect of prosecuting the cashier would have entertained for more than a brief second? Or that he'd have been significantly less likely to lose his job over the incident?

For instance?

Not for a second. The response was way off base. I'm not certain, but I believe 'no tolerance' policies and laws regarding assault do not harbor red tape when it comes to gender. So why is it that gender plays a part?

It's always bugged me.. they say that self defense is a reasonable action when you feel threatened and are otherwise unable to deal with the situation without it coming to blows. But the amount of force deemed necessary seems to be a very grey area. Yet it's written that the amount of force necessary is determined by the victim. It's discretionary. Up here, and this is what has always concerned me about these laws, if a man were to break into my home in the middle of the night with just myself and young child home, and I somehow managed to get the upper hand and subsequently start beating the perp down with a bat but accidentally killed him, I'd be charged with manslaughter. Now.. it would not be deemed self defense although I personally have never undergone training like say cops, to deal with my adrenaline in life threatening situations. And as a woman I've always said that I would likely end up killing a person if that were ever to unfold. Just by simply feeling the heightened threat to both myself and my child... I would not stop beating a person until I knew they weren't getting up.. and likely surpass that just by way of emotion alone.

Honestly if a person breaks into your home, thru deserve whatever treatment you give them, they are trespassing on private property, and are knowingly unwelcome. They are a threat no matter what, besides, that's why one should always have a throw away gun, that way whatever force you utilize is permitted because threat of a gun it's enough to cause anyone to kill.

Yeah, self-defense laws vary from country to country, and from state to state here in the US. States with the Castle Doctrine (like mine) allow you to kill muthafuckas dead if they break into your house and threaten you. States with Stand Your Ground laws let you do that pretty much anywhere, though those laws have come under fire since the whole Treyvon Martin debacle unfolded.

In a handful of states though, yeah, you can go to jail for defending yourself in your own home. I once had a police officer friend of mine tell me that if I ever had to shoot an invader in my home, to empty the clip into them so I could call it panic fire after lol.

Gotta love the south, "of course there was a warning shot officer!"

I just see a lot of guys elsewhere complain bout the dating scene and how passive girls are at it and generally still have a mindset of "guy always pays" or "guy always initiates" and such. But I honestly don't see their problem. I can see the initiation bit, but seems most girls are ok with paying their fair share on dates.

The other things I've seen em have issue with are things like which parent tends to get the child in a divorce or alimony or them not having a say in the life of a child when it comes to abortion or other such things. *shrugs*

If women want equal rights, they get to be equally popped in the mouth!

Kidding aside lol I would never hit a woman unless she was bigger than me, and let's face it ... I have yet to meet a woman who could put up a fair fight with me.

I mean cmon Saget..... they can't get past your vomit of vulgarities to even think about landing a punch

That is very true. I scarred the Olsen twins so much, they didn't show up to the Full House reunion picture.

Apparently they caught you in Farce of the Penguins...
