Is it possible to succeed anymore?

Good news! A guy I met in Jeuno...Aerrith, Alerith, Erith something like that...Some rip off Aerith. Well, him and his LS donated a total of 30 million to my shell! He says he runs his own mercenary shell and wanted to help me out. They also gave me 40 of each of the single currency (1 byne bill, etc.) and 30 of each of the 100 unit ones. He said something about his LS not bothering with Relic weapons and that they do dynamis just for the heck of it. So he collected all the unused currency from his LS and gave it to me.

All I had to do was help his LS with the Astral Ring BCNM, Utsusemi BCNM and all three Promyvions and that was it!

Now I guess 30 million out of the several hundreds of millions i will need isnt that much, but its still better than nothing. Im now that much closer to Excalibur!

Some LS gives you 34 100c's of each type? That's like 306M gil worth of currency at 30k a pop which is the low side of the spectrum. What server is this because I don't know players generous as f*** like that on ours. I thought every server was worldwide? /sarcasm

Also who goes from being the most depressed emo at the beginning of a thread to a hugely successful player by the end.

Not to piss off the socialists behind the scene here at QCDN, I tried to respect, for the most part, the wishes of the manegement, and just not post.

That being said, Xemnas, you're not fooling anyone. It is exceptionally clear that you either haven't played FFXI, you bought your account, or aquired it from someone you know that quit. There are things in your 24 posts that bury the needle on my own Bullshit-o-meter. You are insulting to read.

If you really want to know more about the game, try actually playing it form a level 1 job on up, and look back on these posts. You will laugh as much, if not more, than us, at just how much of a fucking tool you make yourself in text.

Seriously, go away. You're so full of shit you brought me out of my hole to tell you so.

This whole thread has to be a trap to lure people out to insult the OP. No one could possibly have access to the internet, use message boards like these, and have numbers so rediculously out of date as given in this thread...

To top it all off, this would be the last place I would ask such questions considering that the answeres wouldn't be helpfull to someone not on our server. BG is very accessable and well known for a multi-server FFXI forum, so the question would be more suited there.

If you don't think its a trap (or someone totally retarded/lying), ask yourself what would make someone search for a forum, that would provide irrelivant information due to prices and whatnot being different from server to server? The logic is so flawed, it almost has to be complete falacy. I smell a different brand of flame bait.
 
so you calculate the price of the relic upgrades to be around 99 million.

Then you tell us how that is absurd. Then you tell us how you have 137 Million. But you still can't get Excalibur?

Also, if someone is willing to pay you 700k to help with lolRank5... I'm guessing inflation on your server is about 10x worse than ours. I mean, there is nothing to kill, no rare drop to get, nothing real tough to walk by, there is no reason why people can't solo this as a lvl 40 whm.

To top it all off, someone you met in jeuno gave you 30 mil worth of coins? That would be like me meeting someone at the bus station and giving them $300 because they need Gucci bag. Your whole story is laughable. Someone move this to the Burning circle where it belongs so the rest of qcdn can proceed to tell this guy what a tool he is.

oh yeah, by the way it's not required anymore (for some unkown reason) but it is strongly recomended that you put your in-game name in your signature. If you expect anyone to take you the least bit seriously, you'll add that bit of info.

Xemnas... i left this game a little bit a year ago... and a friend had started upgrading the relic sword. when i left, he was approx halfway into stage 2. now i'm back a year later and he's halfway into stage 4. upgrading relic weapons is a very patient process. if you see yourself playing this game for the next 2 years, then i would say go for it. you don't even have to level a craft. just join a dynamis shell that will help you out.

i tell you what though... once you achieve that excalibur... i hope you play for another 2 to 10 years... or i would say all that hard work would be a waste if you quit the game after that.
 
The gil is really not even the worst part of relic weapons. They also need extremely rare drops, some only from optional dynamis NMs, which of course can only be killed twice per dynamis run, and thats IF you have the time. I suggest not going for this unless you have a load of gil and time, otherwise your waisting everything you've got.
 
God, why do you guys hafto be so mean? So what if it's a magically pixie from a server no human'll ever access or something? Maybe it's really a GM, looking for a kind heart to give the knowledge they wish to hear, in which I say...

YES. Excalibur is quite the weapon! I hear after you get the full upgrade, if you do the finishing blow to Fafnir with it while dual-wielding Hrotti, they'd combine into Excalibur +1, which has the added effect kick in 100%. It also does double damage to all undead, demons, and dragons. Also, each time you take damage, you get a 5-second invincible effect, kindof like in the older MegaMan games.

Also, forget what these guys are saying. Go thru the fake wall in Tenshodo and buy 100-coins there for 42k gil each.

As for the part of me having the 100+mil gil and complaining about the 99 mil, that was a typo origonally.

I read the price on alla and they said that it was averaged at 999 mill. I made a mistake and did not type a 9.

You can choose to not believe me about this other shell helping me. They paid my shell to do several jobs. Thats it. Believe what you want.

Yes my friend has an Excalibur. He has been playing from the start and only recently got it. PLD is on of the last jobs he wants to level. And Ill come out and say it now: He buys gil. Hes a rich S.O.B but hes still a nice guy.

So believe what you will. Call whatever you want bullshit. I know whats true, Ill get some screenshots, Ill post em and that will be the end of that.

I honestly cant say how long I will be playing. May be another 3 months, may be until they finally shut the servers down. Who knows. My schedule is always sparatic so I can never tell.

So much wasted money I know. Thats why I dont buy gil. Im getting nothing material or useful out of the end product. Entertainment? Sure. But not for 450 dollars.

You might be suprised to know that 500 million gil = ~7000 dollars not 450.
