Is it possible to succeed anymore?

That is so freaking absurd. Why do these morons jack up the prices of these items? As you say, its practically impossible to obtain them anymore. And when something in a GAME designed so that EVERYONE has a chance to get ANYTHING (Except RSE) becomes impossible to get because of a few morons trying to make lazy money, that when the GAME starts losing appeal to high level players.

The only thing I will say in this thread -

No, this game is NOT designed so "everyone has a chance to get anything".

This game is quite obviously designed so only the most dedicated and skilled players get the best items.

A random social LS couldn't just randomly head over to Dragon's Aery and kill Fafnir. You need a good team, skilled group, acceptable job layout, well equipped players... and Fafnir isn't even the hardest NM in the game. Not by a long shot.

Most "good" NMs spawn once every 21-24 hours. Some have even longer, or more erratic spawn times. Bloodbead Ring NM spawns once a week. The HNM Kings spawn once every 5-8 days. Argus.

And on top of anything else, hardly anything is a 100% drop. Not every 5-8 day extremely dangerous and highly contested Nidhogg will drop an Earthen Abjuration: Body or Martial Abjuration: Body.

Relic Weapons are quite obviously meant to be the most elite of the elite items one can achieve. Most of them aren't even that much better than the (SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER AND EASIER TO GET) alternatives.

Only relic i ever wanted was mnk relic h2h but not the ful version but the normal lv 1 with 999delay as that was amzing spamins Asuan fists (sp) before they fixed it :(

The relic lv 3 out of question easy said and done only the elite of elite will get it, if you wanted it ask a Ls to lv 5 char each to 75 on each account and you can do 10 Dy a week and cut it down but only peeps u will find doing that would be a RMT

But this still means everyone has an equal chance. What your saying is that it depends on how dedicated the player is. So really, everyone has the chance to get everything in the game (or should) as long as they are dedicated players.

No, I dont think that's what he is saying at all. To put this bluntly, If every dynamis shell on a server pooled their coins every month (Not gonna happen!) someone could get a relic every month....... maybe. Count that out, and you can see not everyone can get one unless we all play for 20 years. Dedicated player doesn't even begin to describe what it takes and there is no way everyone could get one, or should.

Saw a deal online for 11.99 (Advertisement) for 1,000,000 gil. Say that you were to buy gil. 11.99 x 500 = 5995.00. The average price I've seen on websites and ads are roughly 15.00 per 1,000,000 gil. So 15.00 x 15 = 7500.00. No way in Hell would a person in their right mind would buy all that gil for between $5,995.00 ~ $7,500.00.

if everyone was able to obtain relic so easily, it wouldnt be special or rare anymore and it wouldnt be all that exciting.

Technically, yes, everyone does have an equal shot, given an unlimited amount of time. The question is who will get theirs first.

Given an unlimited uptime for the game, eventually every single player will get every single item in the game.

But needless to say, that is completely infeasible.

A semi-casual 10 hour a week player could do two dynamises a week, and maybe make a few hundred k in each of those weeks from farming. He'd be "capable" of getting a relic weapon... it'd just take him a good 5+ years to do so.

Even without doing dynamis beyond getting your Relic ____ base weapon, getting 500k a week, it WOULD be possible to get a relic weapon because everyone does have that option for spending their gil.

Would it be realistic? Would it be feasible?

No... that person would be looking at SEVERAL YEARS of accumulating gil/coins.

Hence... realistically speaking... no, everyone does not have equal access to l33t l00t in this game.

Even assuming E.body has a 10% drop rate off Nidhogg (which I don't think it does, but let's just assume it for the sake of argument)... guess an average Nidhogg spawn rate of once a week (it varies and averages to slightly more than that but again, for the sake of argument)... that means one E.body drops every ten weeks. Five E.bodies a year.

Five people get Adaman Hauberks each year.

Yeah, everyone definitely has an equal shot at that.

Allow me to rephrase then, everyone has the OPPERTUNITY to get anything in the game. Its a matter of time spent into taking advantage of that oppertunity. Indeed the Nidhogg statment makes sense. So your right, its not about having an equal chance, its about the oppertunity one pursues to get to it.

Good way to put it.

Relic weapons just take a hellishly huge commitment and a LOT more time spent pursuing that opportunity than anything else in the game (barring possibly the Ebisu Rod).
