I'm 60PLD and my Staff skill is the same as my Sword skill, I keep them both capped, because
a) Spirit Taker seems kewl
b) Vorpal Blade seems kewl
but then again I'm sure I have absolutely no say in this because I leveled my Staff skill because of my WHM history >_>

From my understanding, PLDs don't use Sushi and thus have much lower accuracy than a melee. They rarely equip +acc gear and mostly go for +def and +vit gear. In that case, they will hit far less with the lower level skilled staff and it will be harder to keep hate and will have to expend more MP to keep it which, from my experience, has always been one of the main limiting factors in exp parties. I have NEVER seen a PLD use staff except for once when he was far too low to experience in the area (We disbanded shortly after for that same reason). Most do not have it leveled and what good is a PLD who equips staff and never hits, might as well just not engage. Yes, -10 damage seems godly, but you also lose the use of shield which is a decent amount of def and vit plus the shield skill. In all the cases I have seen a PLD use earth staff, it's because the mob hits incredibly hard and in those cases, I would prefer to party somewhere else because even with the earth staff the reduction isn't significant to be worthwhile in my opinion.

The few examples of PLDs who do of course have staff leveled, are of course more experienced players, but a majority of PLDs are not that good. Even some of the 75s are not good. And no excim, I wouldn't know about that because I am NOT a 75 PLD. Don't know if that was some attempt at an insult, but w/e.

Does Isotope's necroing justify yours? The thread was basically dead and should have stayed dead. Nothing that can be said here is any different that what was said before. Just seems stupid to me that if you find the guy so irritating and continue to respond, you're only make him respond more. It's like watching Oprah (whom is ungodly annoying) because it's the only thing on. You have the choice to just walk away. Use it.

All I know is I do my job exceedingly well, have no problems unless due to severe party makeup error, get complements, no complaints, eat the food (tacos), cover the hated /stares at the mnks...., keep hate at all times excluding SATA or if there is a crazy mnk in PT. I am easily flexible & if a pt members asks me to do something I'm not used to & the rest of the pt is ok with it, I oblige them & do so & do it well. I ask lots of questions all the time, so much so that it's to the extent some impatient people get upset cause they expect me to be Mr. Wizard or something.... I've never been a renouned figure in a MMORPG before for whatever job I chose to play, this is what I'm trying for & in a positive way. The only thing that is hindering my betterment is my gobbie-wallet most of the time.

So you'll hit "far less" with an A- weapon versus an A+, that's what you're saying? SUshi has nothing to do with it. You don't compare a sword swinging PLD eating sushi versus a DEF food, staff swinging one. Food being equal, you will notice very similar accuracy between A- and A+.

However, I can deduce that you are "par", at best.
Seeking Earth Staff 20 levels after it's available is only one thing. It doesn't make or break anyone. Just like a THF not having a scorpion harness right at level 57, and equipment macros for every little thing, wouldn't exactly encapsulate that THF completely. I mean, I did those things because they were relevant and worth the effort, but if I didn't, I'm sure I'd still "exceed" all the others that play THF. ...Yeah right.
Skill is first, but gear matters. If you don't make gear a priority, you will never exceed all of those who do.

What you witness and how hard you try doesn't make you anything. I'm not sure why you think it does. playing your job "exceedingly well" isn't that different from pretty fucking good, badass, uber, excellent, grade A, world class, or any other designation that would imply clearly surpassing the average Joe.

Just based on the fact that you were 20 levels late, and not early would state that you are not only failing to exceed, but that you are failing to meet expectations. Your warped perceptions of how well you exceed your job are fine if it's all just your little fantasy, just don't get mad at me for calling you out as you make these claims.
