Movie James Cameron's 'Avatar'

I just saw this movie a couple hours ago at the Imax theater. I absolutely LOVED the movie!

So the story is just like Pocahontas, or Dances with Wolves or any other American vs Indian movie, but what movie now is original? Everything in the theaters is pretty unoriginal, so to use that argument is just dumb.

Anyways, Pandora is so awesome, though it's all 3-d..it was so beautiful and I wish I could go there :(

ANyways I LOVED it and I HIGHLY reccomend everyone to see it, and ESPECIALLY at an Imax if you have one near by.

ps. I wish I had an avatar :(

Which 3D is better? o.o not sure what's better, Real D 3D or Imax 3D or Digital 3D. And I still never get clapping for a movie, no one involved is there to hear your applause so it goes to waste XD ah well

Real D 3D = Digital 3D. And IMAX just gives a higher quality of Audio and picture, I saw both versions, IMAX definately is a different experience

Dont watch in regular 2D. the movie just isnt the same in 2D

Finally saw it, in IMAX 3d. That movie was a..trip. It was an amazing experience. It makes me sad that seeing it when it comes out for dvd/blu ray just won't be the same.

I felt that way too. :( My first reaction was that I had to get this when it came out, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it wouldn't be anywhere near the same.

So which would you suggest? Real D 3D or Imax 3D? :P It sounds like Real D 3D, so that one yar? (still haven't seen it, unreliable friends XD)

I was hoping they'd release it in 3D as well with glasses for home >.>

By the time it comes out on blu-ray/DVD, there will have already been the big push for 3D in the home. LG just announced today at CES that it'll have 3D-ready TV's in May; plus all of the existing DLP's from the last two years already support 3D. The first push for 3D players/movies will probably happen around then, since that's when all the manufacturer's bring out their new models.

Umm...Imax is way better.

Still won't be the same watching it on a 50" tv vs giant imax screen.

Am I the only person that doesn't like 3D? I hate wearing the glasses, and I thought they added a little bit of a darker tint and took away some from the colors in the movie. I also just didnt see what it added to the visuals. Was a decent movie, but i didnt find it all that spectacular or mind blowing.

Get a bigger TV and sit closer, then you'll have the imax experience.

I watched the movie on both D3D or whatever and IMAX and there was no difference to me. It was still great though lol.

No difference eh? I heard it was better on eyes/brain in Real D 3D from a friend. But, I dunno.

No you are not lol, I very much hate 3D. I loved the movie, and I watched it in 2d, by choice.

I was pretty amazed by this movie. Maybe around December this year or January of 11 I intend to buy a 3D projector to put into my movie room. Right now I have a 720P projector going but I feel like with a wall sized(it's 96 inches wide, 94 inches tall), full 1080P 3D image, and an Avatar 3D blu-ray running on it, it's going to be tremendous.

I have a feeling there's going to be a lot more 3D movies following in Avatar's footsteps, following their model.

So, how bout them people wanting to commit suicide because they can't go to Pandora?

Fuckin freaks.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the movie as well.

There are SO many stories you can cut and paste like that it's sad that Avatar is getting so much shit for it.

Originality is overrated, just about any possible structure for a story has been told at least once by now.

I will agree with you, but only up to an extent. I think when the similarities between two different movies are so glaringly obvious that the only noticeable differences are the names of things and the setting, the plot needs to be changed. They're being payed for this shit, the least they could do is attempt to put something better together.

I just heard about that.. it's one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of. Then again, go ahead and let them do it. Less idiots in the world is a good thing. -.-
I saw this AGAIN last night, in 3D. I paid more attention to the details this time around, but I think it was more enjoyable the first time I saw it. It didn't have the same "awe" factor the second time around. Still, it's an amazing movie, but I don't want to off myself because there is no Pandora. Sheesh.
