I doubt it'll be Yojimbo too as paying for his attacks was just stupid and it was all luck based. All I ever did was pay him 1 gil and he did his best attacks nearly all the time. Kinda flawed system imo.

He actually had a whole system related to how much he "liked" you based on how you answered his questions when you got him and other factors, which would make his abilities cheaper or more expensive.

Random thought: Wasn't Valefor female?

But yeah we have Garuda for wind, and Valefor was more like "Energy" attacks rather than wind, so it could work, but I'm not willing to bet any money on it. For all we know right now we could get Asura.

But yeah, Valefor could srsly work, because he wasnt really wind, and you never know, SE is odd, but so could Yojimbo and Asura, SE just needs to plan it out :)

Will be involved in obtaining them. Might even be Alexander. His corpse is still in the ruins, and it opened up a portal to the Astral Plane. Windurst Rhinostery (Which handles summons) said they would investigate it. Bastok and Sandy,too, were interested, and would also send people to investigate

Additionally, there's a Qiqirn standing by a Hume NPC in Nashmau, similar to how there's a taru standing by a larger NPC in the other zones involving Avatar quests.
 
Thief:
this ability will be awsome if it gives the enimity stolen to the thief and recast is decent ( 1 minute); otherwise just meh. That would make thf a good tank in low man pts ( duo etc); and merit.



Black mage: we don't need any improvement!

Monk: I'm very interested in the whole "less TP given stuff", would make us even more perfect tanks for chariots than we already are.

I'm assuming WHM's new teles will probably lead back in time? maybe Teleport - Windurst (Conflict)... Then again, Atomos is a dark elemental being, so it would make more sense for Warp III to put you in your past home point, if there can be such a thing?

I creamed myself after reading whm and Smn, FUCKING SCORE!

Though, i'm a little confused as to why Whm needs a sleep spell. If we're soloing then /blm works well and if it's anything endgame, we'd have Blms to cover that.
 
dot drk only spell plz ... tier 2 of abs spell well be nice too

My only guess would be to introduce an alternative to Bard for a light-based sleep spell. White mage has access to a dark-based sleep spell in 90% of situations, and black mage and red mage have access to various tiers of dark-based sleeps 100% of the time (barring the "level-too-low" syndrome, of course).

There's only one source of a sleep, however, that will reliably deal with undead, bats, and anything that's Darkness-oriented -- BARD. Bard needs to come down a few pegs, and this may be an indirect, soft way of pushing the job in that direction.

If the WHM sleep spell comes low enough level, that also means that Red mages will typically have access to it through their subs, and black mages OFTEN will. It also means that the Scholar "Anything becomes AoE" ability can basically make it a light-based sleepga, sans Bard.



Just my thoughts on the subject.
 
My three best guesses for the Avatars are these:

Alexander, he's involved in some of the ToAU storyline, (not that it means much, as pheonix was involved in CoP) But he is Light-based, cool idea would be to grant him a provoke type effect, increasing to an extent the roles SMN could preform in a party.

Atomos - WotG trailer mentions and shows him. Another Dark Based, but much different than any available avatar. (Could become like Bahamut or Odin though) I don't really think we need another Dark avatar, but you never know what SE could do.

Pheonix - With the whole expansion involing the past of Vana'diel, what is to say you don't encounter Pheonix before becoming Tenzen's Katana. C'mon, Fire/light avatar would be awesome. Raisaga !!! Or even a AoE raise with the equivelant benefits of RII.

Of the three, I would want Alexander or Pheonix more. But, they happened to mention it like "Summon....S..." So, as much as I would like them fix the usefulness of some of the other Avatars first, it will be fun to add to our avatar artillery.

One more sleeper comes handy anytime and I propose the new <Teleport-Aht Urghan> should be charged at 50k gil! ^^ Plus, SE will start with the summons that are already included in the game. I will be very surprised if they made all new summons in WotG (apart from Atomos) for SMNs and ignore Bahamut, Odin, Alexander. That excuse the the avatar's power would be reduced is BS because I saw what they did with Fenrir. Fenrir from the BC and the Fenrir Avatar are entirely different in power and size...
 
The difference between Fenrir, Odin, and Bahamut is that Fenrir has never been able to achieve 999(9)/Instant Kill.

Thats what they meant by Avatar strength.

I can see Alexander, but maybe if he looks like an angel or something. After all, the "Alexander" you fight is nothing but the control module for the real Alexander possessed by his spirit. And I doubt Summoners want to look like a PUP with an overgrown automaton walking behind them.


Now for my serious post: Shut the hell up, Summoners. You guys get enough.

I don't mind a light-based Sleep spell for WHM :D it'll be awesome for Salvage.

Yeah, the Alexander you fight is not how Alexander looks in reality.

Considering his Corpse opened up a path to the Astral Plane, it'd be entirely possible to fight the "real" Alexander and obtain him as an Avatar.
 
 
i doubt it would be atomos, because he is like odin and bahamut, would be to big and to powerful to scale down and it would just ruin it. And alexander would be very doubtful too, but maybe hes part of the story line to get the new ones. would you want a big fucking castle just floating there behind you, :P
