brd is more fun than you may think.

trust me on that. i always though brd looked gay as hell, and then i leveled one for the hell of it and it was basically my main for a year or so. Super fun, all pts are good and it keeps u busy
 
BRD is a lot of fun... but I have a biased.

So, since you didn't say it in your list.

P.U.P.PE.T.M.A.S.T.E.R.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have it lvled to 60, don't expect many parties (though I was lucky), and it's a really fun job.

Sorry tsuku, even though I have a bias, dnc fits your description very well.

I am just like you, I hate the whole hit the macro and sit and wiat 30 secs and hit it again typeof job, I like having something to do.

Yet I detest magery cause it removes me from teh fight, I want to have my weapon out and wail on the mob too! Up until then I kind of leveled monk a bit, but found all the main DD jobs borign as hell...

Suddenly, the day came... Dancer =O

Trust me man, level the thing to level 5. After that you won't be able to stop. From the moment you start regaining hp faster via killing a DC mob than resting via Drain Samba, you won't be able to put the damn job down.

At level 15 you get curing walzte and dancer goes from god mode to jesus mode, suddenly you can cure for double a white mage, and get aggro and not die =O

Then at 25 you get spectral waltze, and suddenyl there's no where in vanadiel you /can't/ go. Haste samba, chocobo jig, BWF, dancing edge, the list just goes on and on, so many awesome things about dancer if you know how to play it.

Best part is you can choose how to play it cause it's so versatile. Feel like being a DD? Put on you acc/att gear and spam your steps. Feel like taking it easy and healing? Pop a carbonara spaghatti, stack the acc, and spam curing waltze. How about tanking? Well we're not so great at that utnil we have violent flourish, but after that if you stack your gear just right...

Al in all, ADHD is the very discreption of dancer, it never gets old cause it's so versatile. Liker I said, level it until you get drain samba, and try and put it down after that... ^_^
 
He won't level dancer because he pertains to it as being too...I can't really say the word for it...gay? lol. He refuses to dance and twit and twirl in a dancing outfit.

He's at my place alot and he will not, under any chances, touch DNC unless it is for a Sub job. He currently lvling BLU atm tho...funny to watch him try to rape a NM 10 lvls above him, and it rape him instead. Quite funny.
 
if ur going for a specific method between dmg dealer and cast healer well my best bet r drk war drg sam for mages blm and smn self solo mage killer rdm blu if i could pick i would have done blu but just to think on all the time it will take me to get the spells i could get like 3 more jobs to 75 before i get done. drg/drk/sam r nice to solo with nin/dnc subs and u can spect some fun im doing drg/blu drg/whm solo and i dont really need to worry of getting exp pt's or else i just switch to /sam sub and boom 4 ws here i go :) im just 67and i can solo doing 1,2k - 1.7k dmg sometimes thats a good deal for me when i see those numbers ufffffffffffffffffff god i feel all mighty but u can also lv any other job u like basicly solo with bst if ur good at it or have it to 75 already. all jobs r great just pick the one u feel really interest and u'll see how easy is to get it to 75. i enjoyed everyone i work on 100%

Dancers are !@#$inf fruity, not gay, get it straight =o

Our af gives us fruityness +350%, and our fruit loop af weapon gives it +50%

It's hard to be hardcore when your most 1337 move has the word "waltz" in it =/
 
Fruity is the perfect word for it. Even the metrosexual AF isn't what drew me away from the job, I just....I dont know I hate the bloody thing. Its illogical, there's no reason for it, just pure unadulterated hatred. :nono: I don't mind them in my parties, I mean ya, they're useful, but I don't want to be one

I brought BLU to 30 so far and I gotta say I <3 the job. I think I will end up sticking with it to 75 easily. The pure potential that job holds is addicting. Who needs a party when I can solo expchain#6 on T-IT worms in qufim? (did that from 22-28) Other than that I've treated soloing it the same as soloing BLM or RNG(way back when). I take out beastmen pets when applicable and if there's no real good areas for that, I run out and kill off worms. I haven't found an area yet that doesn't offer one of the two and if I get the an area where it doesn't...well...I guess I'll just use a lowbie BLU for a sync excuse cause I don't like dealing with the idiocy of parties. Nor will I campaign battle (lol I just tried to autotranslate that >_>) and smack a wall like a retard for 30 minutes.

So ya, BLU is my choice atm but at the rate I can get exp, that won't take much time at all so I'll probly be back here soon finding another job heh.
 
an I ask what the /dnc gives the nin? even at 75 all that coems to mind is curing waltze, if violent flourish was <30 it would be freakins weet for nin (for thsoe hat don't know, violent flourish stuns the mob for the exact amount of time it takes to recast utsu:ichi, like exactly =o)

Dunno,drain samba is meh okay, but thats all... all the good dance stuff, hell, all the good stuff for pretty much every job is after level 40, kind of a general rule I sppose, sch's accession, dnc's reverse flourish, pld's auto refresh is at 40 too, isnt it?

Sorry, I'm just talking about soloing capabilities, though there are several people that have exp'd as nin/dnc and pld/dnc. Even though dnc gets evasion bonus 3, nin's higher evasion skill makes it much harder to hit. Drain samba is an easy way to counter dots when you are low on tp and don't have time to remove the dots due to the 10 second recast that healing waltz causes on your waltz timer. Healing waltz lets you remove your own silence, paralyze, slow, etc effects, which is invaluable. You don't have to worry about getting interrupted if your shadows go down, unlike with /whm, and you don't have to carry echo drops.
 
I'm gonna say THF or SMN, since they haven't been mentioned yet.

THF is my main and I love it. It's actually a very good DD and a great addition to any party as long as they aren't horrible, but I have a feeling you wouldn't have a problem SA and TAing properly. There's tons of bad thfs out there, be one of the good ones. :)

SMN is my second main in a sense. Having all the avatars is a big plus, and I never found any of the gear too hard to obtain (and I like to have very good gear at all levels). Even YYR was not that horrible to camp. SMN has the ability to solo, as well as heal quite well in any pt while still being able to give some helpful buffs or add some nice spike damage. It also plays best as a support job, especially with Earthen Ward and Ecliptic Howl.

Anyway, GL with whatever job you do. :)
 
My main solo recomendation would be Puppetmaster. Yea, I thought this job was pretty lol back in the day, but I started leveling it like 3 weeks ago. So far Ive soloed all the way to 34, and I'm loving it. Its solo capabilities are pretty amazing, considering how lol it is. And your Puppet is only as retarded as you make it to be, so it depends on the person pulling the strings. If your good, then it'll be a genius, if you suck.. well then expect to be slaughtered by anything you fight :p

Seeing as your doing Blu, I say you stick to that job. That job is amazing, and its deffinatly an accomplishment to collect all those spells and effectively use them, in solo situations, party situations, or endgame situations.

Now for a major DD job.. I'd have to say Monk. I know you said you dont like just button mashing, but Monk actually makes it fun. I'd say its pretty fun to beat mobs to a pulp by hand. Its pretty powerful. Don't expect big numbers though, Monk is more about the overall damage over time. Not only that, its a pretty good job in merit parties. If you don't feel like using Cor in a merit party, then Monk can be there to take its place. Just make sure you dont tell the party leader that you have Cor lvled >.>;

Oh yea, and deffinatly get Dancer lvled to 37, or atleast 35 if you can't stand taking it two more lvls. You will be able to solo pretty well with this sub, and it can be gil efficient, since its a pretty good alternative to Ninja sub when in solo situations or doing Campaign Battle. (I always burn through my Shihei on Monk when doing Campaign Battle because I always end up tanking the mob -.-)
