JP Players (Serious flame)

I already said that D: Does no one listen to me!?

Helius fails at being an elitist.

This simple statement pretty much sums up all of this shit. Kid thinks because he makes a few sigs, gets a few rate ups and has a QCDN account he can come on here and bitch because "no one" on the boards would catch him. I wonder if he was in a PT with some of the more affluent members of our little community here, if he would act the same?

Helius, stop trolling and pay attention to what you're doing. You're not an elitist. You're just that little nerd that tries to hang out with big kids and acts like an asshole whenever your peers are around because you're 'cool'. Enough already. Get some tissues, turn off the PC and get the stick out of your ass. Most of all, try not sucking at your own business and stay out of others.

Once again, for emphasis:

Helius fails at being an elitist.

What the hell? Did the thief not tell him about Assassin that makes SATA obsolete at 60+?

But he is right that you're better off staying in one spot, but you're a summoner a curaga from an avatar can be helpful as would a stoneskin. So you and the thief are the only jobs that should really move constantly.

Otherwise great points and thanks for making this thread even more interesting. Is it safe to say that Helius may be bipolar?

i used stoneskin a couple of times, but after one hit it would get killed, so instead of that i started using Aerial armor.

i also failed to mention people were still using trick attack on the pld so he kept hate, and the thf was told not to pull anymore and just solely spam SATA on the paladin.

One hit? Even at those levels Earthen Ward was still useful. Did they nerf it or something?

*facepalm* Jesus that is bad trying to tell a thief what to do when the thief is already doing his job.

Earthen Ward lasts one or two hits, it's easy to break through when against an IT mob, there wasn't a lot the smn could do to keep everyone alive at the same time. Like he said Aerial Armor(non-ustu tank and most of the pt was non-utsu) would have better results, of course the only person I think it wouldn't benefit would be the sam since his blink is more reliable and you can take it off.

I try to alternate in-between Aerial Armor and Earthen Ward which to use first or soley depends on pt setup if it's mostly ustu tanking- Earthen Ward only if mostly pld and non-utsu then Aerial Armor then Earthen Ward when 1min cooldown is up.

I havent tried Spring Water yet, but Whispering Wind for the hp it cures vs mp isn't worth it and generates nearly no hate(if not at all), but I hear Spring Water is better since it costs the same mp but heals more and statuses.

The only thing I could see that would help the party is maybe Astral Flow with Leviathan then Spring Water then dismiss to use Shiva>Diamond Dust or Fenrir> Howling Moon.

Assuming you're fighting Colibri or Puks? Colibri hit fast and hard as Puks hit fast but aoes aren't so bad, knockback is fun though;)

All in all there wasn't much he could do with avatars if I'm reading it right, the smn shouldn't need to 2hr if it was up anyways.

Since we are on the subject of JP players. WTF IS UP WITH THEM BEING SO ANAL ABOUT you /checking them >.>

This JP player had some nice gear on so I /check him and he flipped out!
Sending me a tell
[diseased] [head] [leave] [diseased] [country] [leave]

And this one JP taru who i thought was AFK, was just sitting there with some sweet gear on and items in his bazaar, so i tried to check him but he had this super gear macro and he switched gear for like 10 seconds then warped and as he was warping i get 50 /check spams and a /slap

If they hate when people check them why can't they just turn that filter off?
Are they that big of snobs? Just ridiculous
And its not all of there I have quite a few JP friends and we do stuff together.. just some, and its aggravating

Again I do not understand this madness

as much as some people would like to tell you it's "native culture", it's simply that they think they are better than anyone else. they don't want to be checked because you should acknowledge them as superior to you merely because they are japanese, the epitome of human excellence.

remember WWII? that kind of attitude got them into a bit of trouble with the rest of the world.

I should have added this to the above post..

don't take that as a generalization please, that is no where near the majority of people. just like there are stubborn egotistical people in this country that think america = god, there are the same there.

It's because the /check emote translates to something they consider culturally rude. Which is stupid, since SE created it in the first place...

It's safe to say that helius is a new-ish player in an enviroment of seasoned veterans, and with this experience he thinks he is as knowledgeable as said veterans, where in fact he is less knowledgeable than first-timers at his level or lower.

I myself am a first timer in these areas, but i tend to ask the more vet players where we can camp etc etc...i admit i am a noob in Treasure of aht urgahn areas.

a bit off topic...Spring water i think is way better than whispering wind, it heals for a decent amount too.

We were fighting Colibris, and i didn't see the need to two hour as i wasn't summoning much anyway, and if i was healing with summons it was only with Carby as the tank kept hate and no one got hate cept for the tank. I still don't understand how Helius managed to get hate when we had pulled two.

I have partied with quite a few JP through out the time I have been in ffxi. The only thing I can say is just don't fuck up, be an ass, and do your job while in a party with them. If you give them nothing to complain about then they have no problem partying with you.

I will add that I have come across some JP and EU players that were just horrible, but that is why I had beer and a couple bowls holstered so I can just do my shit and let others bitch.

Hmm If it translates into something rude, I guess i could understand that a little bit, but you think SE would change that. I havn't got around to asking my JP friends why it offends so many people, trying to avoid a "clash of culture"

I remember checking a JP noob (yes! they are out there)
lvl like 7 or something no subjob.
They sent me a /tell saying "Please do not check me"
I responded, "Why does it bother you"
"It just does ok, please do not do it"
"Whats wrong with it"
this next response made me lol
"Its snooping, snooping the reason for 9/11 NA do you know?"
"I'm not NA, but snooping"

I didn't get much after that...
Snooping? Oh come on >.>
Why have bazaar comments or items if you dont like being checked, its just stupid.

The conversation went something like that, but i still never understood why it bothered him.
I'm curious to know what it translates into, and even if it is something offensive its just a game, and they should acknowledge the fact that there fellow countrymen are the creators not "[diseased] [country]" That is the USA.

I think the snobby attitudes and elitest mindset that the Japanese have, (not all) but some yes have it, just like there are elitist scum in America as well has a lot to do with it, whether its offensive or not.
I honestly didn't want to mention that because whenever i mention something along those lines whether its in IRL or ingame i always seemed to get bashed by people who think the JP are such great people, well some may be, but every culture has elitist and racist and thats a fact.

It checks to something along the lines of "X Stares intently at you". Staring is (exceptionally) rude in their culture, more than it is in ours. I doubt SE will fix it since SE has a habit of not fixing these things.

Really lol.. thats odd, Yah.. hmm yah that would be annoying if someone "Starred intently at me"
SE is a bunch of weirdos, why would that say that lol... I think SE is trying to cause issues with NA and JP players, sick bastards
