Lanien, I have argued with many a scrub in my day. To be quite honest you could you guys come up with something new? That's the same reply every time. The whole "I have a life and your a loser IRL" comeback has really gotten old.

I'm with Vang on this one.

Just cause someone is good at this game doesn't mean they have no life, it means they don't dick around and bitch all the goddamn time. If you don't like being poor, go farm. If you don't wanna bring oils/powders don't expect the mages to hold your hand. If you refuse to do your job, or have certain subs, don't expect to get invites. It's a virtual world, get with it and stop crying.

Thank you

I find it ironic that anyone that plays a "Fantasy MMORPG" could call anyone else a loser with no real life...especially PC gamers. Let's be honest, ALL of the PC gamers are dorks IRL. :D

Fact is, bragging about or even talking about "Your" RL compared to anyone you do not knows RL on the INTERNET, let alone an MMORPG forum is lame. You lose by default in that argument.

and on the subject of RL since some seem to be confused on who I am and we want to talk about "Real lives":

for the record IRL I am not rich, I am not married to a Swedish supermodel. I have a wonderful 7 month old baby boy, a beautiful fiancee (proposed this XMAS ^^)who puts up with my elitist attitude IRL as well, my own house, and 2 cars. Do I go around calling the guy who has better gear than me a 13 year old loser with no life? Nope, I just know he probably is a firm believer in bringing the best to his party, which is what I try to do.

There are about 6 people who know me IRL on our server, go ahead and ask them if I am some zitty faced pencil neck with no life. Im sure you will be suprised. Hell ask Bupu how haaaaawt Vang is IRL. 8)

All I am saying is this, think of something new rather than the "I have a real life" or "You're a Gil Buyer" comebacks please. They are a cheap cop out, and I see them coming from a mile away. EVERY argument I get into in game ends up with the other guy saying one of the two. Hell most of the time they use both lol.

That sums it up. We are all dorks, or we wouldn't play, then again, most of this "cool kid" vs "dork" is something I left behind in high school, sadly many of my "peers" haven't. For whatever reason people feel the need to justify themselfs with their gear and boost their ego by putting down other players. I think people dont even think about the fact that on the other end, is another real person. I have and I think I like the game a lot more when I dont act like everyone is there to serve me (but damn that'd be sweet).

The point is, it's a virtual world, and here you dont have mommy and daddy's basement to live in, no one is gonna hold your hand, you gotta suck it and get your shit together or face the consiquences.

Also, what's with calling people gay cause you dont like them? That's just downright ignorent.

Heyyyyy ... those are fightin' words  ... watch it!!!!

I was merely stating the real life situation as a reason for me not memorizing a chart which has no meaning to me whatsoever. Go ahead and judge me all you want because I don't follow the rules of you gamers. I believe in bringing the best gear and such to my party, but I'm not going to memorize a chart. I play games for time off from memorizing shit for classes. It just doesn't mean anything to me. If that's a crime, go ahead and peg me because I couldn't care less. Those I party with see what I can do, so if I don't have a chart memorized, it isn't going to mean much. And again, people don't let me use anything but double thrust, so why should I bother? If I was given a choice, yeah ... maybe I will learn more of it. But until the day people start respecting dragoon and stop calling us a gimped class, then will. Ever since the day I started playing dragoon, I have received nothing but rude comments about following that path, and have put up with it. Would I really be where I was if I didn't know how to play? Memorizing a chart had obviously nothing to do with it. I refuse to memorize it.

And I honestly don't care about anyone elses real life situations. All I know that is in mine, I don't need to worry about a game that doesn't really mean anything in the long run. You don't see me complaining about not getting invites because I don't know the skillchain chart.

It's a virtual world, get with it and stop crying.
If I'm not mistaking, it is you that is doing the crying and complaining. And as you say it, a virtual world ... not the real world. This is not a life or death situation. Until that chart will kill me in real life, I'm not going to worry about it.

Get over it.

Great attitude, keep it up, it'll take you far!

Oh, so that's why you were the one that brought up Vang's real life situation.

I absolutely love your reasoning Lanien, it makes so much sense.

Two things, firstly congrats man you shoulda said something.

Secondly, YES THANK GOD some people realize that having good gear is not a sin. It seems people see good gear they autamaticaly say, "Oh s/he must by gil". Sounds an awful lot like jealusy and trying to excuse the feelings of resentment by giving them another output. I am not pissed because he is better then me but because inorder to be better then me he MUST have bought gil... SUUURE... I do not ask questions where people get there gil from I could care less realy, so long as it is used wisely and apropiatly. I am not a fan of pissing away gil and I lack respect for those who "PL" a craft because they waste so much gil uselessly it makes me want to punch them.

Oh yea, we are playing an MMoRPG people... guess what that means we are all intouch with our "Geeker" side. Granted it can become an obsession but that is plain not healthy.

The funny thing is, if you'd taken the time (all of about 2 minutes) to have a look at chart, you would have found out that Thunder Thrust and Raiden Thrust have exactly the same SkillChain attributes as Double Thrust. You could have told your parties "Hey these Weapon Skills will allow us to do exactly the same Skillchains for probably more damage. Let's try it!!"

....and you wouldn't have been stuck doing Double Thrust for God knows how many levels.... (It would have taken 2 minutes of your life that you'll never see again though...)

The whole "It's my game, I pay, I'll do what I want" attitude was supposed to be loooong gone at 30 bro(levels or real age?).
Get your shitty attitude in check.(all a point of view, from where your standing im sure your attitude is Peachy)
I can tell already what type of player you are and the gear you wear, I have you pegged(what was that about assumptions?)...I'm sure the 5 people that you were lucky enough to even get a fucking invite from share your selfish views of and enjoy that attitude of yours.(yep peachy, I bet not I nor anyone else could find somthing you wrote someplace else that fit this response..)

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I know I'm not the only one to see the serious hypocritical nature of some of the things this noob says.
you crack me up man. seriously, you've got some real issues vang. You'd make a good case study.

Hey lil' fella! ^^

I see you have been drinking again.

are you still mad about being kicked out of the "Vang fan club"? Don't worry though Scrappy, I am still a sexier, and all around better Ranger than you ever were.

XOXOX

If you had even partied with me once, you know how much I can bring to the table. Not only do I bring great DoT, but I am an excellent trick partner. I'm not afraid to take the first few hits, because that is what my job is. There is more to playing the game than knowing the skillchain chart. I can take or release hate at will most of the time. I know when and when not to provoke, or when and when not to use any of my other abilities such as jump or berserk. Just because I refuse to memorize a chart doesn't make me a bad player, because if that were the fact, FFXI would be a shitty game because of how many people don't know it. Face the facts ... it's not worth it in my situation when I'm only allowed to use one weapon skill at my level. When I use Raiden and Thunder thrust, everyone automatically says "Oh, that's too weak. Keep using Double Thrust." I have no choice. I have tried getting people to let me use others. There was a point when I got sick of double thrust, but it's what kept the damage coming. I didn't complain, I just did what the party asked me. That was when I stopped caring about the skill chain chart. Why bother when it is of no use to me. If not knowing the skillchain chart makes me a bad player, then so be it. But if knowing the one weapon skill people let me use, and knowing how to perform a distortion skillchain, which is strong against many mobs people PT against, then I feel I am a pretty good player. I'm not asking you to like me or want to party with me. But I feel I am a good player because of what I know I bring to a PT.

lol. vang a much wiser person once said somthing that i think applies to you here, i'll quote it for you:

"You don't know shit about shit. And pull up your pants." (scrub)

Whether its true or not, its still funny.

oh, lol somthing else. better ranger than me? no fucking way vang. you've got the biggest case of narcissism on this board, which pretty much makes you a shitty ranger by default, or at least two notches lower than your ego makes you believe.
at level 75 i know many players in there that bring 110% constantly, and play their roles and jobs with expertise, elegance, and fun. these people easily are betterter than or Equal to your "skill" vang.
and theyre all good people to boot. but the toon is the end result, isnt it?
it doesnt go great toon = good person.
it goes good person = great toon.
the importance in the distinction of that fact is huge.
why?
because when someone says "yeah hes a fucking asshole, but hes a great player" you can think back to that distinction and say "yeah, so what if hes a great player, hes a fucking asshole."
see the difference?
i'll leave you with a simple scenario.

Little johnny just bought FFXI and has the choice to join two clubs of people. Club A is a group of highly skilled players, but these players are also crude individuals, and tend to act like elitist asses. Club B is a group of Just as skilled individuals, but they are supportive and patient with other people that may not be as experienced as they are with the game, such as little johhny is.

I dont know about you, but im pretty sure i know where little johnny is going to go.
you really need to take a few bricks out of that wall you live behind vang, you might actually learn somthing new for your rl, which is so much more important, and defines everything you have to bring into the game.

What if Little Johnny was someone who has only one objective: be better than everyone else? Then I'd know Little Johnny would go in a different direction. It's like asking if someone wants to go into Slitherith or Griffondor.
