Just a couple tips for all the retard melee classes

Yeah?, and I've partied with mages who can't find a macro for healing, or
sleeping mages, or mysterious afk trips in the middle of fights, or blm
who ask "magic burst, what's that?", or thf's who cant sata... blah blah blah.

so fucking what?

I'll admit I forget to buy silent oils and powders. Since I'm a retarded
melee, I tend not to dwell on those things. However, I'm clever enough
to avoid most cases of aggro so I really don't need the crutch of such
things.

bottom line: the above was mostly in jest and partially in truth. There
are idiots in all jobs and greats in them too. Why do I even need to type
this out. ...thought it was common knowledge...

I take that crutch comment a little harsh, you still need them, the day you walk through Kuftal tunnel to Cape Terrigan with no silent oil is the day you need to become a full time puller. I have leveled Ranger to 58 and THF to 47...pulling is all I have ever known (sans Ninja to 37)

The comments about my pulling you will hear from others are pretty on point, I almost never see links, never see aggro. But I still don't act like a jackass running around zones naked to camp thinking Im macho man. It's just not worth taking the risk and something you NEED to take upon yourself. There is NO forgetting these supplies, what else do you bring to an Xp situation? Food and a couple extra pcs of gear ?????? I bring 20-25 stacks of various ammo, weapons, shehei, shinobi tabis and food and I STILL remember my silent oils

As far as your little mages comment and such.....WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO!!!! Your a fucking SAM dude, you auto attack the whole fight and bust out SCs here and there. YOU should take the time out to be in charge of a good SC for the party to use, or, is that asking too much? Once again it's more whiny excuses of "Well this job does this, and this job does that, and this job doesnt remember to refresh and theres bad people in every job and and... waaaahah!!!" Shut up with that pussy shit, I don't want to hear it.

Uggh sorry for the attack but I just cannot believe how this could even be argued. Stop being just another fucking melee, make someone remember you for once people.....

Amen.

I'm getting damn sick and tired of this myself. A typical example would be trying to get to the tunnel in Crawler's Nest where you fight beetles after level 50. Usually there is one mage, 2 at most, trying to keep sneak and invis on 6 people. This is a pain in the ass, but tolerable if everyone stays together.
Problem is, usually the first melee will leave as soon as you finish casting, wanting to prove how great he is by getting to the camp first. Then his sneak and invis will wear off before he gets there and he gets aggro. Then another melee, with more heart than brains, goes to save him. 2 people are now dead. Meanwhile, two people have made it to camp and another is lost (not necessarily his fault, the people who know the way should have waited for him), with sneak and invis wearing off, surrounded by beetles and exorays.
Now the mage has to raise 2 people and escort them and the lost person to camp. From the time we left jeuno until weakness wears off and we're all at camp, more that an hour has passed and someone will announce that they have to go in 15 minutes. It seems to happen almost exactly like this every time I go there, with very minor variations.

wow Vang, yet another post flaming dumbasses. what would we do without you? speaking of being "all you can be" maybe you should set up macros for equip changes. Gimp Ass Ranger.

That's not a stab at you. I'm saying I'm so good at avoiding aggro that
I rarely need to bother with them. It takes a little patience but it can be
done. Plus I always arrive on time and ready to party.

Did you just skim this part? There are a bunch of fucking idiots who play
all jobs. So what's YOUR point?

vang said:

why? I thought we are talking about items not the mages themselves. My comment simply states that idiots play all jobs. Sorry if you a) can't read or b)are
self concious about your own stupidity.

great! that means you are a good puller too!!! You don't need to be a 'macho man' or have a 2 year diploma. You need patience, timeing, enough sentience
to keep your lungs breathing and that's about it. PLUS you said you are a ranger. Not only do you have your personal Brilliance, but you have the skill
"Alertness".

great job dipshit. congratulations, you are now as smart as most of us.

well, I ... I ... I.. WAH! my dad can beat up your dad. GOD you are a real whiney
bitch. Yeah I bring the proper foods and ammunition. Not only that but I never
LFG unless I am ready to travel and fight ON THE SPOT. How many asshats do
you have to wait for to got "shopping".. are you one of them? I bet you are.

I only bring the oils and powders on important missions. Why waste them on a potentially bad party?

When I get to the camp, I get a SC set up. It is my responsibility. So I play
SAM/RNG so I can pull and set up SC. I usually have 2 chains available. And
when the rest of the party is too lazy to report TP or participate in SC (OMFG yes
it happens) then I wait for them to randomly throw their shit then I chain it. A good blm can work with that.

It seems you are the one who is crying like a bitch; not me. Oh and you WILL hear it. If you "don't want to hear it" don't fucking post.

most people do remember me. ...one way or the other anyway. Mostly they think well of me. I will borrow someone else's words from another forum. They
ring true with what I think...

someone= "most of the time a sam is invited for a replacement DD. After they
see my teamwork and abilities and what I can do, they are like "holy shit" this
party kicks ass. Hey look me up again if you ever want to party."

I get that a lot. Most people who party with me really like me. I think you might
too but your post is really pissing me off so you will have to impress the shit out
of me first.

So vang, I agree you have a very MINOR point. I'm sorry UZ WETARDED
MEELEEEEEEE have 2 rely on ur uber bitchiness. wez will be gud in the future

Learn the Skillchain chart - Because in the grand scheme of things what do melee do really? Not as much as the tank, mages, or puller thats for god damn sure....could you take it upon yourself to come up with a great SC for us to use instead of just sitting there waiting for someone else to find one? Everyone should know it, but you melee should have it memorized and bring at least SOMETHING to the table other than hitting shit.

To the first I have to say taht is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. I know that I can cast sneak and invisible on mos tof the party but having to Sneak and invising more then one person at a time (Including myself that is 2 people) can be kinda dificult because of how llong or short the spells last. I do not know how many times I would need to go back to the zone entrance to bring some replacement to the camp because he did not have pots, or someone got lost and was about to lose sneak around IT mobs...

Finaly found it, as for the second part about all skillchains, everyone should have a chart printed out and readily available to look at. If you do not have one then here.

To quate Sun Tzu in "The art of war" -(if my quate is a lil off sry its been awhile)

"Know thy selkf adn know thy enemy, but above all know thyself and you hold the key to victory"

see Vang? Direwolf is being HELPFUL.

Thanks Dire, that is one of the best charts available. I used to use
the calculator but the windower program won't work anymore.
I used to switch to the calculator or play minesweeper while I wait
for the party to wake up. (downtimes)

back to the oils etc. I forgot to mention that I do bring them if I know
I will be in tight places: slim hallways of Ostroja, slim hallways
of Garliage, Vang's tight anal nature. etc.

I'n wide open spots like Alteppa, there really is no need because zoneing
is soo easy if you ever needed it. There is a lot of room to manuevre.
It takes a little effort. In my opionion, if you use silent oil in altepa you
are lazy. That kind of laziness will make you a sloppy player who grabs
all kinds of aggro without the oils.

As most of you know I'm a lvl 75 whm among other jobs. I NEVER "leave home" without my echo drops, prism powders, silent oils and food. These are a MUST, even for mages. If you're a mage and think you can get by without them, just wait til you need to do missions, quests and other things. There are alot of mobs out there that aggro to magic.

As far as melee's go, when you're in an xp party situation, we always had a system where a mage would sneak/invis one other person, (ie. a buddy system). It really helps when trying to get to the camp spot. But, if you melee's keep oils and powders on you, (cuz people do get separated) then you won't have to totally depend on your mage, and hence it may be the difference between life and death.

If you are doin' a mission or quest and have an alliance then by GOD you melee's better have your own powders and oils. It's just too friggin' hard to try and sneak/invis 12-18 people!!! And, you better have at least 2 stacks of each. If you're a mage, keep echo drops on you at ALL times. At least 1 stack. This also really makes a difference.

And that's my 2 gil on that subject.

As far as knowing SC's, it isn't that damn hard to print out a piece of paper and learn the sc. I'm not the best at it yet either, but I am learning now that I'm leveling melee again. Personally I'd rather do my job well, than do it halfass, but I guess that's up to you eh?

Really? What to the secret room in CN or QSC in Altep? Holy cow bro, you need to drop the G Katana now and join us Rangers and Thieves as a puller....gain a few more level and come talk to me about "avoiding aggro" naked. So I am safe to assume you travel to the Rumbler Room all the time without these items or any assistance?

Did you just skim this part? There are a bunch of fucking idiots who play
all jobs. So what's YOUR point?

That you are making excuses for yourself to not do these 2 things that I posted about, which melee should be doing. Comprehension is a MUST on Internet forums.

I dont understand what the hell you are talking about, mages? Huh? You are talking about idiots playing jobs? What? You need the items yes, this has nothing to do with "playing" the job you choose. You quoted me typing about Kuftal to Cape without silent oils and you are going back to your "idiots play all jobs" comment. Quote the right thing you want to respond to, it helps me type back to you little fella. Where in that quote did I say ANYTHING about mages?

great! that means you are a good puller too!!! You don't need to be a 'macho man' or have a 2 year diploma. You need patience, timeing, enough sentience

great job dipshit. congratulations, you are now as smart as most of us.

Oh i guess I was completely out of my head when I posted about retards (particularly melee) not being able to make it camp without dying. Judging by all the responses agreeing with me, I MUST be wrong. Oh and btw, what the fuck is "sentience" ? Meh over my head again, you're just too high brow for me Duffmeister ^^ Oh yea, you have never been to any high aggro camps, i forgot.

"well, I ... I ... I.. WAH! my dad can beat up your dad. GOD you are a real whiney

Ok good job on the food and ammo, too bad my thread was about silent oils and prism powders which you obviously cannot comprehend.

I only bring the oils and powders on important missions. Why waste them on a potentially bad party?

Hmmm and yet you state in your first post that you: "I'll admit I forget to buy silent oils and powders."

So which is it? So now you are saying that you don't bring the items that i made this thread about. Oh and last time I checked, using these items comes before you get a chance to see if you're party will suck. My mistake, not only are you "sensient" you're also psychic.

When I get to the camp, I get a SC set up. It is my responsibility.

Ok this is the icing on the cake. My thread was about TWO things melee need to do, one you admitted that you don't do. The other you are agreeing with me on. So what the fuck are you babbling about?

FIN~

You will have to forgive my horrible quote ability, I am at work and the boss has been staring at me for a couple minutes. Tis' why it is so sloppy, I'm sure you can decypher it yourself big guy....

Oh yea and Shia Tan don't make me drive to Shelbyville and get all types of crazy on that ass 8) My slots are always full, that's 60 slots of consumables and the gear I wear. Ask anyone who has partied with my THF, I do have a gear swap macro for that job with my boots. I will make an exception for Hunter's socks though when i get there, for the +2 agi bonus.....

[Word]

Well put vang...

I am a THF/NIN and am known as an excellent puller. but I NEVER leave my mog without my Tonko and some oils.

Usually on those high agrro camps (ie:rumbler room) I make everyone go on AF to me pre-sneak/invis and escort them there.

A good Samurai can control multiple skillchains and make sure his partners know which skillchain is being executed through setting up macro's... unfortunately I have seen few Samurai's that take the initiative to do this.

Back in the day, before I was high level enough to actually party in CN, I used to explore it without any oils or powders. I was looking for the monument in Rolanberryfor the clay tablet quest and thought maybe I had to take a path through CN to actually get to it. I got to know that place fairly well and even ran around in the exoray room and some of the descending paths quite a bit, before deciding I was getting very lost and needed to go back out. In no way do I endorse not carrying around at least silent oils at all times though. Sometimes space is just too tight for it to even be possible to sneak past sound-agro mobs.

And another thing: Why is it that the minimum level at which people are expected to actually understand how to play this game keeps rising? Except for a very few instances(learning how to use trick attack.....and, umm...that's about it) I don't see any reason why people shouldn't have their jobs fairly well mastered by level 20. This includes SCing and hate control, for both melee and mages.

Well i think the thing Duff said that made me laugh the most was:

I only bring the oils and powders on important missions. Why waste them on a potentially bad party?

Sooo let's see, by that notion let us do the math shall we?

1 stack of silent oils = 8,000
1 stack of prisms = bleh i never buy them so lets say 6,000? (Nin sub)

Now on your average way to camp you will use 2 of each correct?
So that would be 1332 gil for 2 silent oils
and 1000 gil for 2 prisms

Grand WHOPPING total of 2,332 gil to make it to camp safely and not be hated by every mage in your party before you even make it there.

I was using yellow curry as my food, one pc = 7k i believe.

So by Duff's notions I think next time before I pull and everyone is buffing up and eating foods I'm just going to go pull and party for an hour then decide. Because, in all honesty, I wouldn't want to my food on a "potentially bad party" now would I? Let's see what the party thinks of that when I explain.....

I would also challenge a party of 6 to make it from the lead tunnel into the exo/fly/crawler/beetle room to the rumbler room without any "assistance." So help me god Duff, I hope you NEVER ask your mages to sneak/invis your way to camp, since now you don't believe in wasting items (when at first you said "forget") because if you did, then not only would you be half agreeing with my thread and the SC's, you would also be admitting you agree with both points.

I would love to be a fly on Kuftal tunnel's walls when you and your firm beliefs try and make it to Cape Terrigan for the first time.....

OK Vang,

I also wrote mine while at work. Now I am home and I can fucking flay
you in style now.

YOU mentioned retarded melees who can't bring oils and powders.
---which I admit I don't bring to regular xp parties. I have been successful
in traveling to the Rumble Room on my own. I have pulled in many
dangerous places for hours on end without links (pops excluded). Since
you are also a RNG then I don't need to tell you much more about it.
You already know.

YOU are singling out ONLY melees.
---hence my discussion on other classes; namely mages. My point being
that this post is so dumb for singling out the stupidity of one type when
you well know there are dumb-shits playing all jobs

YOU brought up samurais and SC (before I ever posted)
---hence my discussion about "whoopee shit" a sam who doesn't chain.
how about mages who can't pull a fucking HEAL out of their asses.
For the good mages, I don't know how you do it. It must be like playing
the piano on your keyboard.

YOU challenged me as an incompetent auto-attacking robot.
---so my response contained my abilities to get to the party without
wasteing time. Oh and I can chain too.

The problem with your original post, is you took one VALID idea, then
you soiled it with general comments. In those blanket statements you
full-on attacked ALL melee classes (including me that's why you got
the big middle finger from me).

So, single out your main point and stick to it. Maybe a little phrase like
"SOME melee ..." instead "ALL". If you weren't so passionate about
comming up with a nice whitty response for my Uber-flame then you
would be able to gleen these answers without the need for me to
write this now.

You are an absolute elitist asshole. Oh and about all my typos, I'm sorry
mr. English Composition god. It looks like you can't find the fucking
F7 key either.

one last most important thing:

Vang, you ASSUME that I make it to parties dead all the time.
You also ASSUME that I have to lean on the mages for help.

well, you can stop assuming because neither is true. I don't
fit under your umbrella statement. Quite a bit of people don't
fit under it.

Personally, I think, if you have eyes. You don't need sneak or prism powders. You see a mob who has good hearing? Walk behind it. You see a mob who can see you? Don't let it see you. It's not a hard concept. I made it to jeuno multiple times, once as a level 1 something or other, didn't even get argo from Sandy. And at level25 I escorted more people through there, than Vang insults people. Could of been a parade. Now I know people don't like the whole, "let's not jump off the cliff without a parachute" idea, but if you try it, you can depend more on yourself than items, and mages. Now I'm not saying that you should just run around Upper Delkfutt's Tower with all the danger and not-so-happy giants, but just keep in mind, you can fairly easily run to Cape terrigan, or Valley of Sorrows north enterance.

As a mage, I came very adapt to taking mutliple party members to camp. I usually take 2 or 3 including myself, depending on the set up. If let's say, I was taking Vang and...... Ezi... They both forgot their shtuff. So we are running through let's say Kuftal, were the crabs and large scorp are. Now you guys weren't daring enough to do it my way, so I gave you both sneak. Now both of your sneaks starts to go, and it wears in the middle of it all. You just see about 10 mobs stop, and slowly turn to look at you. It's my responsiblity as a mage, to save your 2 asses. Diaga, then run to zone, diaga somemore maybe, you know chainspell. I took it personal if someone died. It's like holding a little kids hand crossing the street(not calling you 2 little kids) if he gets hit by a car. Just kind of your fault just alittle. If you brought your items it wouldnt be my fault, but i would still try everything for me to die and not you. I didnt care about lossing xp from dying, as long as we have fun getting it back.

I remember fighting a Pertypyhconerklsajfdlskj(sp?) The large birds in Valley of Sorrows. Things went sour, so we started to zone. First thing i did? Divine seal, convert, cure IV. Thing was on me like I was a sexy lady(or man) in a thong. I died, 5 members lived. Just an example.

The fact is that, it's a "nessessity" to have the items, just makes everyones lives alot easier. And by vang's calculations, its 2500gil just to get to camp safely. If that's not cheap, shoot uhmm.. Someone you dont like in the foot i guess.

Well I'm glad we are telling the truth now. It's not so bad now is it? So every time you travelled to the Rumbler Room you made it fine? Great, Im sure you also beat you sneak/invis'd party there too while you had to wait for the 2 crawlers to split that spawn in the round room entrance.....but as long as you can save that 2k who cares how long the pt has to wait right?

YOU are singling out ONLY melees.
---hence my discussion on other classes; namely mages. My point being

Well bro, I think the only 2 things in my post were about bringing the sneaks and invis items and setting up SC's. I have not ever had a problem with a mage getting to the camp nor have I ever expected them to tell me what SC would work best....unless it was for a certain MB. So you took my thread to redirect it on every job other than melee, and took major offense to it. I'm sure you're not the only melee here, but judging by how defensive you're getting, you might just be the only one who is too cheap to bring sneaks and invis with you to camp.

YOU brought up samurais and SC (before I ever posted)

Once again good job, Im glad you agree with me on being responsible for the SC's. I still don't quite get the cop out that you use of "Every job has shitty players, why should i be any different?" This thread is not about every other job, it is about melee. I think everyone gives the mages, pullers, and tanks enough shit....and it's usually the melee. Sucks when things are turned around huh?

The problem with your original post, is you took one VALID idea, then

No actually I think I actually posted about 2 ideas, not one...and like I said I doubt you're the only melee at QCDN. Where are the reinforcements? Could it be they agree with me? You're melee bretheren agree with a flimsy little Ranger and not you? I must have some fucked up views then, my apologies.

You are an absolute elitist asshole.

Do you need a tissue? You're a liar. Liar, Liar, pants on fire.
:P

No i don't care about the typos, I just really wanted to know what the fuck "sensient" was? I can't even figure that one out, do you cheat when you play "Scrabble" ? Probably do....

Liar.
