I keep thinking of how to even start this one. Do I wax philosophical, do I jest and joke and be polite, yet to the point? Do I come across with an empty-minded rage? Do I just curse and yell and babble? I'm not sure, probably yes to all, so I'll get to the point.
Fuck you, Gainsborough. Fuck you Gains, fuck you Karos, fuck you Kathlea, fuck what other accounts you happen to have after you got banned with your lying cheating friends on the Salvage Dupe scandal.
Let's rewind.
It's newly the year 2009 of our Lord Christ, and QCDN is enjoying finding out that the holier-than-thou linkshell Kaizen has lost their entire upper-class. Someone leaks Kisada's goodbye post wherein he explains how he bartered accounts and made sure he was the most powerful member in Kaizen. Meast blows up on the forums in what most people saw as a pathetic "Fuck you, I'm still better" thread. But what happened on the inside? Who was in charge? Did Kaizen survive? How?
I really want to go into detail, but that's not the reason this post is getting written here. In the winter of 2009, Kaizen was hurting BADLY for members. The old-school they revere like Gods vanished and/or got banned. Numbers dropped sharply. Not that any of you can see the forums, but the points-listing on their forum is dozens of names long. Not too shabby for a shell that has maybe a dozen regulars now, but again, that's neither here nor there.
Gainsborough/Gains/Kathlea/Karos got appointed to being the leader sometime this fall, I wanna say around Halloween? Keep in mind this was someone who had been completely absent from the shell for a year; no contact with the people in it, no attendance in the game. Somehow Gains got appointed to be in charge of a shell they had no connection with.
Recently, some older members of the shell (I mean old, like, going back to before the Salvage Bannings) have suddenly sprouted up. "Why don't we do HNMs anymore? Why don't we do Dark Ixion?" Rather than face the music that Kaizen wasn't the same shell it used to be, Garosthlea thought to herself/itself/himself "Hey, why DON'T we do HNMs again?"
It's not a secret that I belong so a pretty decent social/rp shell. It's right there in my bio box, just to the left of this post. I've been a part of it for years, and literally every single piece of gear I use on my Warrior was obtained through that shell. As such, I'm not always on the Kaizen shell. Since they're an event shell these days anyway, it shouldn't have been a problem. However, Gainslethearos had some other ideas.
Keep in mind, Kaizen didn't have the manpower to do events without us for a long, long time. A huge number of events were at least 50% composed of myself and my friends, and so some concessions were made. We were always cooperative outside of the "Quit your social shells, fulltime our pearl" lines, and once Gains took over she/he/it actually posted that it was okay for people to not wear the pearl all the time, as long as everyone was at the events. Cue some alleged, behind-the-scenes bitching from people who never stepped forward to say anything, and... Well, I'll let these speak for themselves.
In order, because that's kinda tl;dr:
I know this is getting pretty long-winded, but I'm pissed. Constantly in my time in Kaizen, no matter how well anyone did or how good things went, everything was always about the Good Old Days. Kisada was a saint, even after he got banned for duping. Even after he posted his goodbye post wherein he said he did some not-good things, he was revered. Even after he drunkely got online one night and TOLD US ALL how he was changing policies and awarding points for things he had already accumulated to get himself and his friends more points and gil than anyone else, he was a god to them.
Anything resembling criticism was shouted down. Any strategy not announced by the leaders was wrong. Remember Rone, Gains? Remember moving from Kirin to JoL? Remember Rone suggesting 3 tanks? I do. I recall everyone telling him that was dumb. I then remember Rone quitting because of the close-minded leaders refusing to listen. I then remember the strategy CHANGING to what Rone suggested.
I remember wiping to JoL with 23? 24? I remember Gainsthelearos calling out my newly-75 blackmage. The one with the level 200~ elemental skill. The one without half of the -ga 3 spells. I remember telling Gainslethearos that I had a paladin at 75.
The problem with Kaizen's leaders is that they are still living in 2004, back when they used to be on the radar. Where's Kaizen been for the past year? KS99s. Sky.
I'm distracted, but really wanna get this up, so I'll close it up.
Fuck you, Gains. You're a terrible leader, incapable of having a spine or listening to anything outside what you are comfortable with. You have no business being in charge after a year's absence, and you don't understand how badly I hope your shell falls to pieces around you when the merger comes. I hope Midgard serves as a reminder to you being smalltime and insignificant, and I hope when the level cap increases and the GOOD member of that shell realize they don't need outdated and close-minded rules to get gear they all leave. You are a bad, and should feel bad Gains.
Also, don't expect a single sorry soul from that shell to address this. Kaizen has a strict "Don't post on the flameboard" policy because they have no idea how to handle anyone saying anything bad about them. None of the officers there want anyone public to see the rotting, diseased corpse that once-proud shell is quickly becoming.

This ignores the fact that Kaizen is a desolate wasteland during the day and nights. The only time Kaizen has people on it is for events, discounting when some random people are actually AT keys before or after events.Gainslethearos said:Constantly being outside sets a bad example to all, and the circumstance doesn't encourage a healthy integration into Kaizen. In addition, tension arises with the creation of factions.
Translation: Wear the pearl at all times, this is not a request.Gainslethearos said:Therefore, I strongly request that you wear your pearl.
Translation: I am an inept leader and can't fix problems that existed before I got in charge.Gainslethearos said:I will now comment and say I don't understand everyone's problems or situations. I've only inherited them when I became the leader of this shell. But I can't tell you anything except I'm not responsible for the past. ... I don't know what past leaders told you; I am not them. And I can not fix the past problems.
Translation: You are not allowed to do anything we say you're not allowed to, including having other linkshells.Gainslethearos said:When you sign up to an endgame LS, you sign away certain free-will. ... The harsh reality is that everyone is expect to conform in a certain way and act accordingly.
Translation: I'm pretending this is for the greater good and not to appease people who bitched behind everyone's backs.Gainslethearos said:That's comradeship. Anything else would be selfish.
Translation: I am a hypocrite, and thank you for making sure we could run when everyone else got banned or quit, but you're going to have to quit all your linkshells except us or get kicked.Gainslethearos said:I won't overlook the reality and hypocrisy of this change. We needed all the manpower we could get when the LS was in crumbles. We were desperate enough to bend the rules and we turned a blind-eye to policy. But this can no longer continue.
Translation: I don't know how to keep peace or address problems without kicking one-half of the argument.Gainslethearos said:We have become divided.
Translation: Despite our numbers being the highest they've been since March of 2009 and farming runs having more than 4 people, you're not allowed to do anything except Kaizen stuff.Gainslethearos said:The simple matter is we just couldn't make it work.
That speaks for itself.Neophytal said:I've been gone for years and have no idea what's going on, but I never had other shells so I never wore other shells. Good policy, double-a-plus, would conform again.
Translation: That other post isn't relevant since it's outdated, as I have admitted.Gainslethearos said:As I was saying, the quote was written back in FEB 10th before the HNM deliberation. I'm not trying to point out that it's been in the works for some time now; I'm saying it's outdated.
Translation: Since only a small handful of people (all from the group that joined in March, no less) have complained, this post is aimed squarely at you.Gainslethearos said:Ultimately, we want you guys to wear the shell majority of the time...
Translation: Oops, my bad. I didn't mean you were slaves, let me double-talk that one to clear it up.Gainslethearos said:As for my comment on the previous post (Re: Signing away free-will), that was my opinion and my opinion alone. I'm sure that American sentimentality of "freedom" only makes things a touchy subject, so it was defeating to bring up that "Free-will" speech.
Translation: We don't address anything resembling criticism.Gainslethearos said:But lets face it, we cautiously try to avoid conflict.
Translation: No more "discussion", fulltime the pearl by 3/13 or get kicked.Gainslethearos said:Seeing as this is still a problem and nothing has changed, I am now setting a deadline. Evryone has until SAT 3/13 to sort out their agends.
Translation: There is no longer a discussion. Fulltime it or get out.Gainslethearos said:If you would like to debate this issue, now will be the time. After the deadline, I expect you to comply to policy unless there's a strong upset. If you choose not to wear the Kaizen pearl, then I will have to break it.
