I'm standing around minding my own business, trying to camp Lizzie for my nin. And out of the blue, out comes Kartia, complete stranger.
"Can you please powerlevel me while you wait on lizzie?"
I don't respond. if I knew when lizzie was gonna pop, I'd be somewhere else.
She bugs my BRD friend.
Then she tries me again.
"please"
so I finally respond
"level your own god damn self"
and she starts to say I'm mean, tells my brd friend I'm nea, shouts it to south gustaburg
then asks me for an apology. sheesh. blacklist time. I see a few hours later someone else is PLing her. Christ just because someone is a girl(in game at least) doesn't mean you should bow down and serve them. Well, just warning you all Kartia is a rude bitch.
 
Well... That's how noobs are.

One of two things will happen.

One, they'll either never learn and be stuck in Valkurm Dunes forever.

Or two, they'll turn into a certain Lv. 75 WHM I know who's perpetually a noob.

Oh please...it has nothing to do with her being a girl. I am a girl...in RL and in game and neither I or any of the other female players I know have ever done anything like that. I do agree she/he/it is rude and I fear for those she'll eventually end up partying with.
 
Well i do agree that jsut cuz shes a girl doesnt mean you shoudl discriminate.. but when was the last time you seen a guy call you "mean" then shout your "mean" and tell your friends your "mean" just cuz he didnt get his way?
 
I have played online games long enough to know that guys go out of their way to help strangers because they are or think they are girls. A random guy walking around asking everyone would not have been powerleveled. Plain and simple. A lot of slack being given out and I am not unreasonable making the assumption to why.

That being said it's rather unfair to the girls who play this game with character and decency and we should at least attempt to distinguish between the two types.
 
It is sad to see that players tend to be taking the easy way to achieving their goals. We never experienced powerlevel in such an early stage when US release FFXI. Seriously, asking us people to do your shitty work like powerlvl-ing, coffer treasure hunt and such, might as well we do all these things for ourselves and get the Reward.
If people are willing to help you. That is absolutely ok. But depending too much of us High-Level players to do you silly job is absurd like in this case. We have our right to help or not. We freaking pay Square Enix to enjoy and not to be some slave esp like some people who don't respect us. :evil:

Guys who put up with dumbasses because said dumbasses are female are not too bright themselves, to put it kindly. You're just assuming that this person was expecting to have their hand held because they're female and not just on top of being female, which is bullshit. Even a cursory look at this board will show you a bunch of people who expected to have things done for them, and no one assumes it's because they're male.

But to any guys out there helping out idiots because they're girls, please, just don't. :shock: They're probably a hairy guy in a tank top eating Cheetos anyway =P
 
I just had the most aweful experience with kartia and her buddy, who's name escapes me at the moment. We were doing ecowarrior in sandy, which should have been no problem what so ever. However, this turned into a fiasco pretty quick. I was the alliance leader, and to make it a successful trip, I set a couple of "rules". One is "Please stay with the group", and the other is "Dont touch the ??? until everyone is ready". She did not listen to anything anyone said. kept going ahead of the group aggroing stuff, that kind of thing. When we finally get to the ??? she starts telling people to touch the ???. The alliance has only one whm, but a few rdm. None of them had full mp, with the whm at only about 25%. Well, after repeatadly telling her to stop, her Newb friend decides to touch it. Please keep in mind this is after I and most of the alliance said not to. Well, we got very,very lucky in that only one person died (her friend). After the fight I asked why he touched the ???... his reply "cause I felt like it". I just didnt get it. So I called him a newb, and called her a bitch for telling him to touch the thing in the first place. His reply was something along the lines of "well, I died saving your ass by using my 2-hour"... I dont think he understood that if he would have waited like everyone told him to, he wouldnt have died at all. I mean those 2 no talent ass clowns almost got us all killed. I got /t from her other friend, chillis i think, who was not a bad guy. He was like its just a game. I understand that its just a game, but she shouldnt have tried to ruin it for everyone. I mean, I had spent a good amount of time putting that alliance together, and it was almost for nothing. Needless to say I blisted them both. This was inexplicable behavior.
 
i'll have to say that i DO think that there are SOME girls out there in game land that know they can take advantage because they are a girl. and they do just that. asking all the time if you can help them with stuff and if no one says yes then they call you mean. they pout in game and whine to someone till they find a person that listens.

i'm not saying that all females that play are like this. it is a stereotype that the good female players must overcome. but it is there. and guys wether we be geeks or not have always had a problem thinking with the right/wrong head when it comes to women. there are two gals in my LS. one doesn't ask for special treatment but i think she gets it a little. the other is begging for help all the time.
 
I was on an airship one time with a few friends, and some Taru WHM starts talking trash about Taru Melee. Now she's standing next to a Taru PLD and a Taru MNK....shit gets heavy! we go off on her like there's no tomarrow, becasue i'll be damned if another taru is gonna say I suck. Fuck that! (lol the ranting begins) After a good 2-4minutes of just ripping into her soft tiny taru body we just laugh it off. she comes back with "your mean i'm just a girl."
me: "and that has to do with what exactly?"
her: "be nice i'm a girl"
me: "fuck off you insulted what I do"
her: "It's harder for me I"m a girl"
me: "hahhaaha it's the same for everyone, you still suck." then the mnk and I go back to being mean to her...but hey don't dis the Tarus if you can't handle the wrath!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The highly desperate guys who help out any female characater because of their intense need to get laid (cyber, real life, whatever) are the ones making these wenches act this way.

It's a 2 way street - "girls" don't FORCE boys to help them. Some guys have that "I must be Prince Charming - maybe girls will like me in real life if I am a hero in the game" air about them - if they want to give me free money, because they are idiots - who am I to say NO?

I am not one of those girls who would ever ask for money - but I am just saying...

Agreed Jender..and this is one of the reason's I personally am glad there's no voice chat in FFXI. I used to play socom and it was really sad how many guys would fall over a female voice. C'mon guys you HAVE seen and talked to girls before right?? I am not a strict women's libber by any means...I do like to have doors opened for me occasionally etc. (Mainly by my husband I might ad)...but If i get to the door first...I'll hold it for a guy with no thought. But I like the way it feels to have accomplished something by myself. My husband used to offer to "help" me by taking my controller in Socom and I'd say no way. I'd rather have no kills than 20 gotten by someone else. I have some good male friends in this game that have helped me a lot...just as they have helped the males they know...but the most satisfying things are the things I complete because of my own knowledge or skill.

On similar but unrelated note a friend of mine a long time ago get's invited into a chat room by a woman...he goes in there to talk to her on the mic for cyber/voice sex...wtf ever...lol And his dick shrinks when he hears her voice as in his words she sounded like a 65 year old woman that had lung cancer and talked thru a hole in her throat...lmao
