Enemy VIT: 60
Enemy DEF: 420

FUDO+SENJUINRIKIO / UNJI+UNSHO
STR: 109 / 114
DEX: 107 / 114
ATK: 423 / 425
ATK w/Berserk: 528 / 531

FUDO+SENJUINRIKIO / UNJI+UNSHO
WSC: 53.12 / 56.44
fSTR: 12 / 11
PDIF: 1.00 / 1.01
PDIF w/Berserk: 1.25 / 1.26
fTP: 1.0 / 1.0

FUDO+SENJUINRIKIO Formula's
((39 + 12 + 53.12) * 1.0) * 1.00 = 104.12 * 1.00 = 104.12
((39 + 12 + 53.12) * 1.0) * 1.25 = 104.12 * 1.25 = 130.15

UNJI/UNSHO Formula's
((32 + 11 + 56.44) * 1.0) * 1.01 = 99.44 * 1.01 = 100.43
((32 + 11 + 56.44) * 1.0) * 1.26 = 99.44 * 1.26 = 125.29

This doesn't take into account the delay's of both these setups which is...

FUDO+SENJUINRIKIO
With No Haste Equip / With 22% Haste Equip + DWIV + Suppa / Previous + Haste Spell
7.56s / 3.83s / 3.09s
UNJI+UNSHO
With No Haste Equip / With 22% Haste Equip + DWIV + Suppa / Previous + Haste Spell
6.70s / 3.39s / 2.74s

What does this mean in a normal PT for TP Build?

It will take about 18 seconds for Unsho/Unji to hit 100% TP @ an average of 10% TP per attack.
It will take about 19.38 seconds for Fudo/Senjuinrikio to hit 100% TP @ an average of 10.5% TP per attack (10.5 because sometimes its 11 sometimes its 10... seem's random).

Which means it will take approximately 18-20 WS's used before Unsho/Unji is only 1 WS ahead of Fudo/Senj which if your keeping track is a long time considering the higher damage output of Fudo/Senj.

Also I haven't even begun to mention that the critical hit rate on Fudo/Senj makes a big difference on DoT and hitting those massive Jin damage caps.

You can form your own opinions from this and maybe the value of Unsho will drop because of it.

All the STR and DEX is calculated into the WSC calculation which is the only place that extra STR and DEX comes into play. This is why you see Unsho and Unji have a higher WSC number then Fudo/Senj.

WSC = integer([STR * 0.3] + [DEX * 0.3]) * 0.83

Because BladeJin is STR30% and DEX30%

I was interested in your views on this. Ever since you started posting a lot of parses, I figured you'd get to this. It seems a lot of NINs are on the fence about it, but it seems to me that there is a slight favor towards the Fudo/Senj combo. Good info, Deci. Thanks for posting it. :)

I don't understand all the stats but I know from changing katanas in and out that I like the Fudo/Senj setup the best. Also, I have crithit capped in merits and adding the extra % from those katanas I am a crithit machine. Stats mean nothing to me I just go with what works the best.

Why are you mainhanding Fudo instead of Souj? Fudo is dmg 39 vs Senj dmg 38, but Senj has the crit hit +6% vs the crit hit +3% on fudo. They don't stack, you get the 6% for Souj and the 3% for fudo, and 3/4 of your Blade Jin hits are mainhand weapon.

I'm also curious about crits in general. I have heard from people that have crit+ weapons and gear, and full merits in crits, that they have noticed a cap although the total of their gear would exceed the apparent cap.

I have heard about 16% tops. I know a couple of Decidence's parses showed similar results. But I'm sure there were plenty of gear changes going on. I'd be curious to see a parse of fully merited crit, and full crit gear to see if there is a crit cap.

My understanding is that crit hit rate on weapons works like TP bonus, enhancing spell damage, and all those other special things on weapons.

They definately stack just based on using different katanas and using those together. I crithit almost nonstop with the Senj offhand but if I switch to my Shiruna I can tell the difference. Like I said I don't know how all this shit works but I do know what works for me.

I think it does not stack because Heartsnatcher which works the same way as senjuinrikio doesn't stack with the other dagger..

I get 15-16% Critical Hit rate in my parses.

4% from Merit
9% from Katanas
2-3% from DEX or wutvr else

If you notice most people in my Merit PT's only crit like 5-6% at best... if their not stacking then I dunno where all those crits are coming from.

Deci, try parsing with Senj main handed some time and see how it affects your Jin damage.

I can guarantee you you're getting more than 3% from your DEX. It's really improbable to only critical 3 times every 100 swings without any mods as a melee.

Agreed. Even jobs that aren't DEX and crit freaks will crit more than 3 times in 100 connected swings.

As Mithran THF, I know I do, even on IT++ MOBs.
Farming MOBs is ridiculous.

I will parse my next party using Senj on main hand. If it does indeed crit more then I might be looking for a different off hand weapon.

I was under the impression that base crit rate was damage dealer's Dex- damage taker's AGI.

Doubt that, it might be DEX / AGI though. Which would make much more sense. Just like PDIF if Calculated by Your ATK / Enemy DEF. Then again their could be a chart somewhere like fSTR is calculated by Your STR - Enemy VIT and then take that number and match it up on a chart under your approprate base weapon damage.

I've also been lead down the road of crit+ weapons affecting only that hand. Without a definitive base-crit formula that correlates your DEX + mob's AGI, there really isnt any way to prove it.

So, as SE would say, "believe your heart, and <insert remainder of gay moment here>".

Believe In The Heart Of The Car--- Katanas!

But yeah, I believe the only thing that applies from offhand are defined stats, no +%s or modifications based off percentage. Cause if you could do that, Monk, Dragoon, and Samurai would be seriously unbalanced from lacking that.

As well, I don't understand why people are pissing thier pants in excitement over Ifrit's Bow. I'm placing my money on it only affecting ranged attacks, like the Rune Arrows only working while shooting them.
