I'm about to hit 60.

Got a Yoto+1 in main hand now, Bubuso offhand. Gonna get a Sairen for main and keep bubuso off hand next level. I figure I'll use that till the late 60's early 70's.

My question is this: out of Unsho Unji Fudo and Senjuinrikio, what makes the best combination, and will Rai Kunimitsu replace one of those at 75?

Are there any others I should consider?

Senju/Unji is a pretty good combination, really its on par/better then unji/unsho as far as parses go. u/u is fun cause of the attack speed though. Rai kunimitsu sucks unless you wanna spend a few mil to use it on firesday...

If your low on gil or somthing, senju/fudo is decent, but not at the level of u/u or senju/unji.

you have no idea what can of worms you are opening by asking that. ;)

lol, well I think most will agree senju/unji and unji/unsho are pretty much tops, so its just a choice between those two. Unji/unsho has more of the "fun" factor, assuming you like to attack uber fast (and what ninja doesnt) while senju is nice for that massive critical hit rate most ninjas also love. Comes down to how much gil you want to spend, and personal preference, cause neither combo is going to greatly outparse the other.

Gotta <3 the Senjuinrikio, awesome katana and free nonetheless.
Sure, gotta do some WSing, but it's only a few hours of work if you have a kind friend.

I never tried the Unji/Unsho combo personally, but low delay spells success paired with haste gear.
And if you have Suppanomimi and Brutal earring, you wont stop attacking while hasted.
The extra STR and DEX are a nice addition to your Jins, which will suffer alittle due to the low base dmg though.
But still, you will be attacking faster so I guess overall DMG will be about the same.

Best advice is to find out which you like better for yourself, if you have some money to spend that is.

But those 3 are the "best" ones, not counting relic ofcourse.
The Rai Kunimitsu is good on firedays, nothing else, not worth wasting gil on imho.

I know it's not the question you asked Trip, but you shouldn't bother with Sairen. The damage doesn't make up for that delay and price. Try getting a Hototogisu(http://ffxi.somepage.com/itemdb/680) for offhand, and just mainhand a Kabutowari +1

That's actually quite helpful for my current situation. I'm gonna go that ex katana in the mornin when I get off from work.

It can be a pain in the ass to get the drop Trippy, I tried to get it a couple times but no luck.

im like 0/6 on that damn hoto(tab) katana... damn tonberry NMs hate me. =\

yeah but it won't be as mind numbingly boring since it's a popped NM.
I'm not sure, the ??? respawns every couple hours after someone gets the rattle, so it'll still probably be boring.

I was planning on using senju/unji as main/sub when I hit 72. 68 atm, but too busy irl and in-game to exp NIN atm T_T

oh, for the record, i use senj/fudo. but im not a career ninja, in fact, rarely get to play it. debated about selling my gear for it at times even. =/ but ive been happy with that combo.

You mean fudo/senj? Or does the crits factor into WS as well?

i have tried it both ways and with senj main and fudo main, i noticed that senj main, i get a higher more consistant jin. Fudo kinda lacks as a main weapon when compared to senj in my own personal experiences. Also, offhanding unji is almost like wearing another piece of dual wield gear.

Not to derail, but I have a Katana question as well.

Will there ever be a time when a NIN would use Great Katanas instead of regulars?
