Katana question

Senj/Fudo or Senj/unji?
i have 2 katana merits and use turbin/optical hat
hauby/SH, dusk gloves, snipers rings/flame, RK breechs, fuma sune-ate

Why the Unji? compared to the Fudo it looks crappy

Fudo looks like the better weapon for DMG in an offhand slot....Im a newb nin and still trying to figure this katana shit out too, my DRKness keeps sayings its got higher DMG it must be better!

No but seriously, which ever you feel works out best. I'd be inclined to say Senj/Fudo since Unji offhand is really at its best with something around 20% haste. Granted, I don't parse shit, and I don't merit since Byakko doesn't feel like dropping haidate when I'm next up.

I personally use Senjuinrikio/Unji and I like the combination. I wear the turban, relic pants, and Suppanomimi so when I double attack there is very little delay before my next attack which I really like. I have never liked having to wait long between attacks.

Senjuinrikio/Fudo is a good combo as well especially if you have crit hit merits.

It really comes down to personal preference.

I always parsed higher with Senju/Unji. Faster attacking and bigger WSs, and the damage drop off isnt really there. DPS isnt everything.

Base dmg on off-hand weapons isn't as important as on your main weapon.
Since that dmg dont affect your ws dmg.
And neither does that 3% crit hits since that is calculated for each hand.
So with Senj/Fudo you dont get +9% crit hits as many people seem to beleive.
You get +6% on main and +3% on off hand.

So, since :Jin has str and dex modifiers, subbing unji will make you ws's bigger, while the Fudo wont.


But as people said. If you have capped/near capped haste gear and capped crit merits the extra DoT should outweigh the little extra dmg from your ws's.

Slight mistake there reko.
When dual weilding you get an extra offhand strike with your offhand weapon.

personally I' going senj/uni. The critical hit rate on your offhand doesn't kick in during WS, while the stat boost on unji do.

However, main damage comes from melee hits, so the slightly higher damage (only about 1 DPS higher), and critical hit rate from off hand, would maybe increase the damage more. But in that case, Rai Kunimitsu would perhaps be better

i think the only way to make senj/unj or even u/u work properly is to have maxed out katana merits. There is no point in swinging faster when your whiffing every other swing. so i say until your capped out in katana merits your better off sticking to senj/fudo.

Uuuuh... why would senj/fudo be better without capped katana merits? you'd miss the same ammount with senj/unji. Actually, you'd hit slightly more since DEX gives accuracy

senj/fudo would be better because of the better dot you get due to the crit+ and higher base damage when you do connect.

dont get me wrong senj/unji will be good, but will it be 1.5mil good compared to the 50k fudo?
