Killzone 2

Just played it and God damn this game is gonna be fucking awesome. It does look really good graphics wise and the gameplay is def. there. Only beef I have is that you cant customize you're controls, I'd rather have melee at L3 and sprint at L2 but its all good i guess. And the end of the demo makes me want this shit even more:

I've been hearing a lot of good things about the game so far from reviews and such, funny thing though, G4TV rated KZ2 5/5 and even then people bitched up to the point where some people said something so retarded, it made Adam Sessler do a Mailroom special calling the fanboys out:

Just downloaded and played off the EU store. It's friggin' awesome, to the max. The only let down will come to the graphics whores, because it is most definitely not as good a lookin' game as the videos will lead you to believe. Definitely a first day buy.

Where are you guys getting this demo? It's not on the PSN store yet.
 
Euro only. You need to make another account thats location is United Kingdom, not United States. They, as well as japan, have a different PSN Store than the US.
 
So i was thinking... This game is probably the largest thing for Sony this gen no? I mean...

They spent over 100M making this game? It has movie production costs and employee counts no?

I am very interested to see how this game does during a recession and how that sucess or fail effects Sony.. If this fails alot of people are in the shitter... Seems like it can not fail tho.

Do I have to re-initialize my PS3 to get it to work, or when I make a new profile can I just say it lives in Europe?

The likelihood of this game failin' is about as much as it was with Resistance 2. The only reason this game would cause Sony to loose money is if they spent more to make it than their are PS3 owners to buy it, which I doubt since MGS wasn't a failure.

Make a new user, say you live in the UK, make up a crappy addy (at least name a city and state correctly, i.e. Stockholm, Sweden) and zip (I just made up numbers, I think 6 numbers), and BAM, you can DL KZ2 demo.

I believe it's actually a $60m budget. And like I said earlier, so far 1.1 million people in Europe alone have pre-ordered it. So judging from the RRP of £49.99 here in the UK (Not sure about what that is in Euros or dollars, it could be the same though) the income from the game would be around £54,989,000 on day one.

Convert that into $ and it would be around $80,476,777.59 (I could be wrong, so can someone confirm this guess as well?) from Europe alone. But that's a very rough guess-timate, it could be higher or lower and it can still sell really well. The efforts of the development team won't be for naught, that's for sure.

I may be a bit of a fanboy but at least I'm not stupid enough as to say something as dumb as "Did MS pay them to give KZ2 5/5?" as that one person did on that video and at least I give my reasons. You may not like it, so that's up to you, I shouldn't influence you on MY CHOICES and you don't influence me on your choices either. If it's my choice to give Sony more attention than MS because I trust them more as a customer, I don't see why you have to be annoyed at me. Just ignore it and move on, it's not the end of the world. By the way, I'm pretty sure I said that I'm ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SOME TITLES ON THE 360 concerning Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean The Last Hope. The console itself is not influencing my decision on actually buying those and having fun with them!

But they don't get the full 49 euros back from the game. You gotta take into account the printing of the disks, packaging, shipping, the selling stores fees etc etc. They don't make pure 49 euros in margin back per copy sold. I have no idea what they actually make but i'd guess its probably close to half that? Maybe idk.

You have a point. Still though, 1.1 million pre-orders/sales in Europe alone is a very good starting point.

You're also assuming that every single one of those pre-orders is a definite purchase. Some people are going to play the demo and not like the game, even those who pre-ordered based on the renders. You're also going to have peopel who did pre-order and just not pick it up; or they might transfer their pre-order towards another game.

Yeah, most of them are going to get sold, and there will be a lot more who buy without a pre-order; but just because someone pre-orders the game does not guarantee a sale.
 
Good demo, I feel secure in ordering it from Amazon. I need to check my email and see if my codes for Home costumes have arrived yet.

You also have a very strong point. Well, I did state that what I said earlier was a guess-timate. We'll just need to see what happens post release.

Also, since Game over here never freaking told me my pre-order for FFXI and several other games was in for FIVE MONTHS and sold it to another person on release, I never pre-ordered in store again. I'm sure quite a few disgruntled people who have also pre-ordered with Game here would feel the same thing, they are like Gamestop, but not as totally bad.

Resistance was not released during a recession. We are at a rediculous unemployed rate at the moment.

Pre order numbers are nice but i couldnt use them as a guide...
Not to mention its EU numbers... This and future games for the year will take huge sales hits with a recession and you can pretty much bank on that. Now will the numbers for KZ2 still be fine even with the sales hit, i can only wait and see.
