Kind of a funny observation on my fellow BLMs

Well not everybody has a Nashira Manteel, so the belly dancer look isn't always an option
Heh... The manteel doesn't go with anything... I look like some sort of crazed hoochie about to hit the town.

I did find a home for it... Healing gear macro go go!
I need to do some Dark/Aspir tests with it later.

I'm so confused by this... Unless you can't stick your enfeebs WTH would use Chasuble? Yes Errant is ugly, but a Chasuble makes you look like a damn hippie.

Crimson legs? What for? The only reason a RDM uses crimson is to get to the MH or AH faster or for running around like a chicken while kiting angry Dynamis/Limbo critters.

I know Uzor is psychotic like me and is toting around like 4 sets or more for RDM. And it boils down to this...

Wear w/e you want when you're in town or traveling around, but when it's time to XP, HNM, etc., it boils down to maxing out the stats that you need for the situation. Simple enough concept.
i said id rather use it then errant. no i use af1 body for enf and chasuble for nukes (less resist) and errant body for resting. Ive tryed errant body and I was not please with the results, plus all them -stats just make me cringe. as for crimson legs I said was thinking use for exp for the hp/mp because with errant legs i sit at like ~982hp and ~924mp leaving little room for me getting hit between converts.(and i dont even have magnetic earring or serket or tamas or zenith crown) but like I said I dont want to loss the 4mnd and 23 mp for 27 hp and some elemental resist. I could change my equip though then I'd have change my /equip macros all the dang time. If I hads nash legs then I might think of switching af1 body for somthing else prefer crimson mail though dought be a while before I get one of them (10 int/mnd 40mp/hp elemental resist {yes please}. ( on side note dalmatica be nice to) I to have alot of "situasion" gear. I have crimson hands for /dark, I have opo crown for /brd I have errant legs for /blm I have crim legs for kite hnms like kirin. I have elite beret( temp till i get af2 hat or crim mask) I have mac cas. bracelet. That just parting side I have tons of solo situasion gear to for /nin and /dark.

ps beside what wrong with the chasuble look.

But if you're not going to bother swapping gear around, you're WAY better off with Zenith/Yigit/Genie hands, you're way better off with Mahatma pants, AF-freaking-1 hat and a weskit. That gear is to swap in for the right occasion, it's not for wearing all day and night just to show everyone you got it.

That's me to a "T". I just dont care anymore. I have mahatma on one of my mules. I Wear AF2 legs for the sheer fact that in my opinion it looks better. Stupid reason, I know.

I did the gear swap thing all the way up to and including 75. Always the best stuff for the right situation. Anymore, I only gear swap the staves and my hMP eq (though my belt is on a mule somewhere and I'm too lazy to get it). Space is the real issue for me, followed closely by just flat out not caring. I haven't killed a god in a long time, dynamis has long since passed me, and I just xp'd with some friends for the first time this weekend in a VERY long time. I break out the Blm to help friends kill lesser shit and that's about it. What I use is more than adequate.

. . stop wearing Igqira gloves. What the hell is wrong with you? Even AF1 is better than that shit.

Huh? I wear my AF gloves for gods and highly resistan stuff, but I'll take the MAB over the extra 10 eleskill for the stuff I'm killing anyday.

I guess the point being, if you don't care to gear swap, why not just wear the gear that's good in all situations? It's easier to afford and easier to obtain than all the situational gear.

I understand there are inventory issues for many people here, but I doubt there are many who have as much crap piled up than me over the years.

I'm at school right now so can't list off all my gear off the top of my head, and don't have the time to write it all down anyway, but when I get home I'll show what's up.

Because it's not always easier to equip the gear that is best all around. AF2 is not NPC storeable and people aren't as will to tossing such a hard to obtain item. It just serves the point of filling an equipment slot even if it isn't the best choice. AF, Igqira, or errant might be the best choice; however, all of those choice are sellable or storeable whereas AF2 is not. If someone doesn't care enough to pimp out the job or are just playing to have a little fun, the best choice doesn't matter, they'll take what's easily accessable. This isn't a matter of what is easier to obtain, what's cheaper as they already have all those pieces, but it's what's at their disposal NOW. The relic will always be close since you can't send it to a mule or store it anywhere besides MH storeage. AF requires taking the whole set even if you want just 1 piece. Igqira/errant requires purchasing when you already have a useable piece to fill that spot so you are just adding 1 more item to your already over capacity gobbie bag.

well zenith slacks is fine if you're using it for base mp for casts and buffs like stoneskin and blink and like the such.. but for nuking.. ugh lol

so yeah you must have liked my post earlier in thread::

lol Yes, I liked that one. I had a PT with a BLM trying to MB in Zenith Slacks (I was on RDM). I stayed in the PT because it was funny, I told her to toss out a Thunder 3 for light (to wchich I also MB'd) and I did more. Gotta love it when people say "You don't know how to be a <job>" when you have that job to 75 too ;p

That's why I said it. I wore my AF1 gloves until I got my Zenith Mitts. For some reason people think the level of the gear > the stats.

Because sometimes people obtain their AF2 before they stop caring and now they don't want to have gil tied up in a job they don't like playing anymore so they sell anything that's not R/E.

I'm gonna quickly break down my inventory commitments without going too much into detail.

NIN - 82 (Including all NIN equipment AF1, AF2, Consumables etc)
BLM - 21
RNG - 20 (Not including gear that I got for NIN that crosses over)
WAR - 12
KS/BC's - 9
Dynamis/Limbus/Sea Misc - 10
Crafting - 12
Other - 41 (Event gear, freelot AF2, shit like Opo-opo Necklace etc.)

Used: 207
Available: 18

18 is not a lot of free space left. All RNG and BLM AF1 is stored with NPC as well so it's not counted above.

lol, ask Kensou!!!!!11

ps beside what wrong with the chasuble look.

First of, you cringe over the -10 STR, DEX etc.? In all honesty, how often do you use those stats in an exp party? And reason I took slow as an example was because it is the enfeebling spell that is most known about what stats do.

As RDM/BLM, I have 124 MND and 117 INT, which I bet is more then you have in both stats if you refuse to use Errant Houppelande. On top of that I also have 968 HP and MP, so my HP/MP pools are perfectly balanced. And I can assure you that is impossible to achieve without changing equipment.

Oh, and btw. You don't have to change your /equip macroes all the damn time. The only time I have to change my equip macroes are when I obtain a new piece of gear. And that does NOT take long time, because I only have t o change 1 macro. Let me explain to you;

macro table 2

ctrl + 1: convert gear
insert all covnert gear here

ctrl + 2: elemental gear
insert all elemental gear here (general nuking gear)

ctrl + 3: enfeebling gear
insert all enfeebling gear here (combine with INT/MND macro)

ctrl + 4: magic burst gear
insert all magic busting gear here. Mainly +INT instead of +elemental

ctrl + 5: INT gear
insert INT gear (some replaces +enfeebling)

ctrl + 6: MND gear
insert MND gear (some replaces +enfeebling)

ctrl + 7: dark gear
insert dark gear (mainly +dark magic)

ctrl + 8: melee gear
insert melee gear

Now, that is my main equip macroes, all filled with different pieces. This makes it a lot easier, as my spell macroes only inserts the correct elemental staff, and occasionally other gear that might be usefull for that spell. Easy enough, and makes it a lot easier. As an example, I insert +haste/fast cast gear for Haste and Refresh casting, as it shortens the recast timer, thus giving me more time to do other things.

And quite honestly, I have no idea why you refuse to equip Errant Houpelande, as Chausuble serves no purpose what-so-ever other then when casting drain/aspir, and perhaps while randomly nuking.

I'm curious as to what you're using for that screenshot in your sig Uzor.

Are you achieving the HP/MP and INT/MND at the same time, or are they two different sets of gear?

Not at the same time, I pretty much put together all of my gear and took different screenshots of it and put it together. The 968/068 is in my convert gear, and the MND + INT ones are in my enfeeb +int/mnd gear.

Like I said in the other thread, I think its impossible to get that at the same time..

Ah, I must have missed the other thread. I thought I might be missing something.

Well I have 5 70+ jobs and don't skip on any of their gear, and don't really have space issues since the expansion came out... let's examine.

80 Mog safe,
60 inventory
30 mog locker(so 20 more potential if I need it)
4 storage(won't even bother counting cause they are all 1 soace storages)

So clearly with storage and mog locker upgrades I could increase my space, if I needed, I don't.

4 spaces for toolbags(Shihei, Jusa, Kagi, Sai)
11 loose partial ninjutsu stacks, 4 above, 1 for each elemental
3 Nin body pieces(not counting AF, though not stored cause will count later)
6 rings(snipers, flames, breeze)
2 hands
haidates
Full AF sans feet(upgraded to +1, body itching to get tossed)
Suzakau's Sune Ate(itching to get tossed)
Af2 feet, body
Evasion torque, Chiv chain
3 belts - swift, scouter's, warwolf(steppe too if I really wanted HP)
boxer's mantle, forager's mantle(gigant mantle same as above, really for pld)
eliusive earrings, melody+1s, rse2 earrings(+str, and HP). diabolos earring
2 katanas(thinking of getting third)
2 Nin af+1 upgraded items if I decide to upgrade legs or head
opt hat, soon to be haste hat

Between my SMN BLM and WHM, who share many pieces of gear....

8 staves
serket tamas, snow
zenith mitts, legs
mahatma legs
hiearch, rairin obi, penitence, powerful
full set of austere/pentitence
blue+1, prism, astute
2 SMN af+1 upgrade items,
1 BLM af+1 upgrade item
1 WHM af+1 upgrade item(considering chucking)
hedgehog, phantom tath
whm af2 head, blm af2 body, legs
abjuration for zenith head(considering chucking)
carbie mitts
3 mage-meleeing weapons
access to all my nin's acc gear(opt hat, snipers, diabloos earring, swift belt)
access to some of my pld's str gear(rse2 feet, hand)
weskit, demon+1, errant body, astral earring, loqacious earring, rse2hp earring(to offset astral on my smn)
ele torque, uggalepih pend, smn torque, fenrir torque
moldevite, abyssal
4 pieces of elemental magic swap in(af+1 hands, earring, legs, head)
aristocrat
vermy
rostrum pump

then I've got 3 swords for my pld, a gsd, access to the terra and pluto staves, all the rse2 earrings cassie, gigant access to all the nin's attack gear, af2 legs for attack, Some W gear, koenig, af+1, a spare af+1 upgrade piece, a shield a bow rse2 belt, shared warwolf with nin, access to vermy

spare junk like echos, silent oils prisms, some teleport rings, reraise hairpin, flee boots,
4 sea jailer pop items,
3 chips from tenemos
stack of ancient beatcoins
several stacks of seals
a lose bcnm40 orb(BCNM40 anyone?)
several pieces designed for Nin/blm(mostly borrowed from BLM, some from nin af2, asttute cape, ext, ninjutstu torqque/earring stored)

-random low lvl gear for capped shit either muled or in storage npc as full set, I've completed CoP so never an urgent need for em)

I keep all that shit, I never have to mule. I have over 10 free spaces usually unless I build up on crap from exping. I could increase my storage 30 easily through expanding mog locker and more storage if I wanted to lvl another job.

So when I hear people with 2 or 3 jobs saying how bad they have it on gear, I think they must be somewhat disorganized or carrying with them stuff that should be muled cause they won't need easy access to it.

I can't think of much except a few pieces I'm working on, and I can think of several things I can toss and probably will to make way for the new stuff. Even the AF2 pieces I'm hoping to get(like BLM AF2 head), replace things I already have(elite berit+1)

All this being said, every job has swap gear I rarely or never use. Beyond a few pieces in every slot it becomes very diminishing returns.

It was getting very bad before the age of mog locker but it's time now to stop using excuses we mostly know aren't true.

But all this is a tagent. Some of you posting here KNOW you're better off with the cheap stuff you've discarded. What I find funny... is the people... who think they kick ass without it...

oh got some other stuff clogging me up, like random AF I'm thinking of chucking cause I upgraded 1 or 2 of the set and can't store it. and some LSs, 3 pld rings(plus it got access the nin's attack rings), empress band and of course reverend mail, melee whm's best friend.

got a few other abjur too I don't wanna make but can't make myself toss, genbu kab the 2 exp scrolls from northlands, my signal pearl and a corsair scroll I gotta lvl up to use or toss

That's exactly what Fire talked about, people not wanting to use gear because its ugly. Whiel errant might be ugly, it DOES increase the effectivness of your enfeebles, like making Slow stronger. This is something Chausuble just simply doesn't do. So while I throw out stronger slows 99.5% of the time in exp parties, you throw out weaker ones 99.6% of the time? Although that is wrong too, as I highly doubt we have identical gear. I can't remember the last time I got resisted in a exp party...

well i use Demon Helm +1 instead of AF hat for that sole purpose lol. I still think i do decent damage on xp mobs w/o equping AF hat. Demon Helm +1 + Igqira Weskit=pretty bad ass. i do switch in my Rune Chopper and my Rune Halbred for the hell of it sometimes XD

Just wanna say, not trying to come off as braggart just trying to point out all the versitility and with 5 jobs and question how I can have the space but others lack the space for even like the basic gear for the main 5 visible pieces.

I don't really know what I'm missing that all of you guys are carrying around that's gunking you up so badly. Is it possible you're carrying around redundant gear that holds no actual value?

Just not caring doesn't seem to resonate, being that to collect all the ex/rare items you must have at some point cared obsessively so(I know from personal experience). The only thing I could really understand would be an intentional gimping of yourself due to having BLM leveled prevent you from playing other jobs when you'd prefer to. I know that I've felt like that occasionally.

Yep that's about right =P

It's a good excuse not to have to play BLM when I know my NIN can outparse it =)

It's very true that you need to swap appropriate gear for maximum potency. This applies to every job, not just BLM.

But the AF2 pants example is making a moutain out of a molehill. The AF2 has +13 MP and +3 Int and a bonus for the element of the day. The Errant Slops have +7 Int, the main stat a BLM is interested in, unless he's doing slow and paralyze for some reason. (Let's not bring the +1 version into it, since it's only marginally better for a whole hell of alot more gil).

Four more Int will equal between +2-3% damage, and on a non-bursted Thunder 4 thats about 20-30 damage, perhaps as much as 40 damage.

Now, the reality of the situation in end game is that you want effeciency. You are fighting HNM's and need to make your MP count, so you cast the most effective spell you can for the mob. Or, you are trying to chain mobs as fast and as *long* as you can in an xp party. If you are wise, you choice of spells will be based upon the mobs' weakness, THE DAY OF THE WEEK, and any prevaling elemental effects. Not to mention, most of the SC's you see will be either Light or Darkness, so there is a 50/50 chance that you can MB a spell appropriate for the day of the week. Although the BLM nukes do more damage as you go up in spell level, the damage:MP ratio is about the same. The only way to improve effeciency is to cast a spell consistent with the day of the week, and there is a 50% chance that you can MB it as a bonus. So the pants are more useful than you let on, assuming you actually take advantage of them. But they are not good for everything, that is true.

Or, as another BLM scarcasticly told me once: "Didn't you know, when you hit lv 75, every mob is weak to Thunder 4." And you can just nuke away to your heart's content.
