Two HNM were posted, Simurgh and Serket. Like I said, I don't count Serket's ToD because it's the easiest thing to obtain. As far as Simurgh is concerned, that should not have been posted at all unless the only people camping in the first place were gil sellers which with the way things are happenning, often seems to be the case. And if you didn't notice, the majority of the posts were of idiots bitching instead of responding to the actual thread (the original thread was locked because the discussion was OVER). Had you actually responded civilly and discussed reasons why posting one ToD over another or any ToD was bad, you might have been heard, but you didn't and the choice was decided for you.
I am bolding that for emphasis. Now posting the ToD on a NM like Charbrydis doesn't save people from camping unnecessarily? Granted, anyone with half a brain would not post it unless they and everyone they know has gotten full use of it, but none the less, why would you just let that information go to waste? It doesn't concern you in the slightest once you have used the NM and recieved the drops. So it begs the question why is it any different? And let me ask you, would you camp something like Charbrydis or Mysticmaker, kill it, get your drop and then watch as someone showed up to camp neglecting to tell them it just popped and died? It's a simple enough to just send someone a tell, they have no reason to not believe you and it in no way harms you, instead it might well come back to help you in the future. It SHOULD be used to help people without any negative effects to the poster. It may; however, significantly increase the number of campers at the next spawn which would screw over the people who were camping there and did not claim or would make the competition fierce for those who did chose to use the given information (so the free information is a double edged blade). Either way, the poster should use discretion when posting.
I agree, money drops should be left out of this entirely, but then again I cannot and will not censor someone who wishes to post it. Information is information and if anyone really cared enough to get it, all they have to do is a quick /sea all. It is considered disreputable to do so, but I can guarantee you every HNM LS has used it in some way or fashion. It may have been something as simple as a search for a good exp camp to actually searching for specific players, but it's all the same.
Btw, didn't Phraust make a post about Simurgh's ToD or something several months ago in general discussion? Why is it such a huge issue now and not then? I wonder why that is...
