Dear thieves,

is a "knife" type weapon slashing or piercing? I know dagger is piercing but it's not clear to me knife is piercing too...

I can't seem to find the info anywhere ><. Would I get the bonus on flies-birds if I used a Martial Knife or not?

(Please state facts not "opinions", I have an opinion too... doesn't make it true or false).

use it on crabs at limbus if they take 0 dmg from the knife then it slashing

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Dayner, I'm not too dumb, I know how to test it, I don't wanna test it !!!!

Useful answer, anyone?

Gonna say slashing, does little to crabs.

Knives, like Kukris, Krises and such are all part of the dagger family.
Daggers have all always been piercing to my knowledge.

Are there any piercing swords or slashing polearms? ...

There are piercing swords actually, Joyeuse. And I think that Verdun is aswell.

Daggers are piercing aswell however, not sure if all is, but yeah.
Thf's perform pretty well on birds in Lufaise, and they are weak to piercing so.

Stiletto..............?

I dunno of any non-pierce damage spears, though there're two that let non-Mithra eat fish (wusses, needing silverware to eat raw fish..). There's also the same effect on Pagures, which would be so fun to get, if gilsellers didn't hump the NM 24/7......and their delay is wretched anyhow, so meh..

Also pretty sure Exocets and Vampiric Claws do slice damage..

Bourdonasse is hidden effect blunt damage. Normal meleeing causes blunt damage, but weaponskills are still counted as piercing.

fencing style swords are piercing =P

I would have to say Knives are for stabbing.

And yeah, the Bourdonesse (polearm) does blunt damage on normal attacks, but WS are still piercing, so DRG still sucks on Bones for Weapon Skills.

Use Kinkobo, fagdrag.

Eh, it's what I had going for me and the only way I got through the couple KRT parties I went to.

Not all of them.. Just Joyeuse and possibly Verdun (unverified).

Easily tested on Greater Bird type mobs.
