Lame argument continued

let uzor argue about sex , thats more fun !

He wasn't going out of his way to be an asshole, he just wasn't going out of his way to be nice.

Take it however you wish, but you have now started using nothing but ad hominem attacks in your arguement. Which what you are arguing about is that Uzor is an asshole. He agrees with you and to add to it also states he is also " a bastard and a dick" and furthermore has "a god complex".

So he agree's with you. Except of course about the original arguement, which you were wrong about and he was right about.

Forget that last statement in my 2nd post. The point I was trying to make was that judging yourself above everyone else, the only thing that matters to you is being right, that's pathetic.

Who said the only thing that matters to me is being right? Do I need to repeat myself again? I don't care whether or not I'm right or wrong. I've been wrong plenty of times and admitted it. The only things that matter to me is myself and my friends. Right or wrong is not part of that.

In this situation, I happened to be right. Which pissed some people off apparently. Like I said, this thread wouldn't have existed, had I been wrong. The fact that I was being rude (unintentionally, mind you) is just a cover-up and excuse

You are using the word "pathetic" wrong. You may find that "infuriating" or quite possibly "contemptable".

Besides, he isn't judging hisself above everyone else, just mostly everyone else. Uzor knows there are people out there that he would consider his equal, they are just far and few between.

I've never denied I'm an arrogant asshole. Nor have I denied that I'm an bastard and a dick. I'm sure I can find a lot of posts of me stating that.

The fact still remain, that Osse was wrong, I was right, and he's butt hurt over it.

Really? That's what he's upset about?

Don't make me use zoom quotes.

Really? That's what he's upset about?

Don't make me use zoom quotes.
Please do. That doesn't disprove said topic wouldn't exist had he been right. And remember, you need evidence to prove it would have been. I called it first!

When insisting on the right-of-way, you can be dead right, but you're still dead.

Thank you for moving this Arc. It's not that I'm a big fan of the FB, but it did end up belonging here. The original post was confrontational, but still within the realm of heated debate. Things change though. Admittedly, I wanted the venue change because some jokes really only fly here.

Regarding my motivation, it's covered in the original post complete with chronology. It's pretty clearly evident that I was upset with the tone and lack of content of Uzor's response to a rather neutral request for him to verify his information. I simply became more irate as I spoke with him, which is quite understandable. You can try to dismiss any argument by questioning the person's motive, but when it's recorded in text with date/time stamps it's a tougher sell and in this case rings hollow.

Regarding Uzor's "admission" of being an asshole and egomaniac, it is clearly a dodge and attempted deflection of not caring about being flamed or about the opinions of others. It's equivalent statement would be: "Don't bother trying to hurt me because I can't feel pain." It most certainly falls into the SomethingAweful joke category of "I don't care, it's just the internet." Any objective person would see that. My only mistake was forgetting to show the obvious tie-in with #6, "The Internet Puppet Master."

Alternatively, it really could be an admission of a serious pathological disorder. I'd need proof before I believed it though, perhaps some released psychiatry encounter notes. Or more likely court transcripts, since that type of total disregard for others is normally seen in people who have seemingly inexplicable violent outbursts. I'm sure that's it.

[Wall of text warning]
Hey Uzor, post about the time you killed a man with your computer keyboard because he wouldn't believe you about AV and you went to court for capital murder and you were like "Eh, whatever" and you didn't care because you were an asshole and didn't care what lowly mortals thought of you and the judge was like scared of you because he was like "Wow, this guy is hardcore and I'm scared of him" and he tossed out the case because he was afraid you would hurt him but you still didn't care because you were still like "Whatever" and oh, cool man.

Or more likely, it's just a dodge, and a bad one at that. Everyone that posts cares at least a little, just about different things. Judging from Uzor's post count, I'd go so far as to say he cares a lot. I'm not criticizing him for a fucking enormous post count,--I'm fond of the place too--but it just goes to show he cares a great deal about the people on QCDN, or at least what they think about him.

More to come. I'm basically going to restate the theme of my original post in different terms. I thought it was pretty comprehensive, nothing said so far has really done more than try to circumvent it; however with Uzor attempting to put down a layer of bullshit and false bravado, I figure I'll wash it off and hang it up again.

Oh, if you'd actually bother reading my post history you'd see a care very little what people think of me. Don't see why I should. Because:
1) you're not a friend of mine
2) you're not a friend of mine
So its quite easy to not care what you think about me. I do care more what my friends think about me, but not enough to not be honest to them.

And no, I'm not a violent person. I talk my way out of dangerous situations. I'm quite good at avoiding confrontation if I so with. I rarely, if ever, resort to actual physical violence. I do, however, call it as I see it. That means, if I see someone bullshitting, I call them on it. If I see someone lying, I call them on it. If I see someone that sucks at their job, I confront them about it.

I am quite interested in hearing your answer to the question I answered earlier. What exactly is it you hope to accomplish with this thread? Warn the community of me? Hope to teach me a lesson, and have me avoid being myself in the future? Because, you know, when I'm honest and say I'm an asshole, you say its a bad dodge. What exactly do you want me to do, go "NUUU! U R!" and defend myself?

Well, at least this topic lives up to its name.

Not caring that you didn't believe him about something that doesn't really matter anyway does not in any way equate to a capital murder trial.

lol I'd just love to say thanks for bringing stuff back to me guys. ^^ I really do love you all. And Uzor no worries I didn't even think about you being rude at all, and sorry if I seemed a little too forward about demanding for questions

Also thanks to everyone who predictably butchered my name, although I'm going to go ahead and just say that's my fault for picking a name that's damn near impossible to spell it seems. Inunabe...2 ns...

I didn't find what you wrote rude at all, and I didn't intentionally be rude to you either... lol. Osse just have a weird way of looking at things. Maybe everything not written in formal english is offensive or something? >.O

I should write Hallmark cards

I think most people understand what this is about, whether they agree or care is another matter. For them, this post is unnecessary but I'll try to make it somewhat entertaining. Uzor is another matter.

What exactly is it you hope to accomplish with this thread?

Since the searing laser beam of your awesome intellect has been unable to dissect this information from the complex, secret code of my first post, I'll just rephrase myself, flameboard style.

Robert A. Heinlein said:
Moving parts in rubbing contact require lubrication to avoid excessive wear. Honorifics and formal politeness provide lubrication where people rub together. Often the very young, the untraveled, the naive, the unsophisticated deplore these formalities as "empty," "meaningless," or "dishonest," and scorn to use them. No matter how "pure" their motives, they thereby throw sand into machinery that does not work too well at best.

Uzor commonly throws sand not out of anything close to a "pure" motive, but to fuel his own inexplicably inflated ego. I would add that anyone who is intentionally and needlessly grating and rude is deserving of only contempt and disdain. Peregrine was perma-banned not so much for his minor (and hardly unique) violation of the rules, but more for the above reason than anything else. I made a comparison between Uzor and Peregrine that was intentionally spun to look like a case of mistaken identity, but the similarities are too obvious to need explanation.

It has already been said that courtesy and politeness have long since died at QCDN. If that is true, it was not a natural death. They were slowly strangled to death by Uzor and like-minded persons, while the rest of us watched and did nothing. No Uzor, I'm not here to save you, I'm not a miracle worker; and if I were, you wouldn't be on my list. I post simply because it will make me feel better to not "watch and do nothing." Neither your understanding nor your compliance is required.

Lest anyone think I'm in violation of my own doctrine, let me add another Heinlein quote.

Robert A. Heinlein said:
The only true sin lies in injuring another needlessly.

I submit that this was not only needed, but long overdue. Let's go back to the post that pissed me off.

Yes, I know how the spell works.

And its quite noticeable when soloing as DNC at lvl 5 when you first get it. Mobs die just as quick (I usually lvl naked pre-10 since I solo), and a drain effect of 7 that I quite often got, should have been a rather great deal of a mob's HP% at that lvl.

That, and the people at BG seem to have noticed the same thing. Don't think any tests have been done, but if it truely did drain for real, it would have been really noticeable at lvl 5 when you first got it.

I've broken down the assertion with lack of content aspect before, so no need to rehash that. But what irked me was that I read it as a rude, arrogant slap from an egomaniac AND it attempted to pass off casual observation as the justification. Am I reading too much into it? Am I wrong?

And yes, your experience is right. I have an attitude. I'm a self-centered bastard. I'm arrogant. And yes, I would say I have a case of god complex. I admit, I think myself better then most other people. That's why I have a very strong allegiance to those I consider my friends and linkshell members (unless they are complete morons), as those are the only ones I consider to be at the same level as myself. The others I don't care much for at all, as they're lower than me. Thus why I'm often seen hanging around the flameboard, starting arguments out of nothing ...

It would seem not. I'm not much of a talker, but I'm pretty good at reading people.

Even then, a number of people are rude and I feel no compulsion to make an issue out of it. But this also touched on a pet peeve of mine: scientific method, baseless claims, bullshit detector, whatever you want to call it.

Don't get me wrong. I post opinion frequently. I read others' opinions and enjoy doing so. I *want* people to keep this site going. I have more respect for the people who make the effort to either parse something and post that, or if they can find a link to someone else's controlled test; but I do not expect it, nor require it to show some appreciation for the poster.

All I ask, is that if you are going to be insistent that you are correct,

Yes, I know how the spell works.

then back up your claims with something substantial,

Uzor said:

If someone is so hell-bent of going against popular opinion, they're more then welcome to waist their time in doing so and prove themselves right. I, however, have other things to do.

because my internet browser already has a copy and paste function. I don't need another one. And I think, most important of all, just show some respect for your fellow (wo)man.

The others I don't care much for at all, as they're lower than me.

So cram that all together into one statement, and what do you get? You cannot be a sloppy, lazy plagiarist AND be a rude, arrogant prick at the same time. Those are mutually exclusive. That doesn't fly here, or anywhere else for that matter.

So that is my point and my purpose. There have been attempts to distract from and disassemble what I'm saying; but at least I have faith that the majority of readers here have a sufficient bullshit detector to see what is and isn't on topic, and what is or isn't real debate. The only thing that remains is the question, "What does Uzor think entitles him to look down on others, and what justification does he think he has for his unexplainable, inflated ego?" It sure as fuck isn't his posts. Over the last few days, using secret government spy satellites, I have observed him and have compiled a list.

UZOR'S TOP TEN LIST OF SUPER-AWESOME LIFE ACHIEVEMENTS
10. Switched to Geico and saved a bunch of money on his car insurance.
9. Passed gas and cleverly blamed it on the dog.
8. Peeled an orange and almost got the rind off in a single piece. Almost.
7. Was Time Magazine's 2006 Person of the Year! (If you didn't get this joke, use the link: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1569514,00.html )
6. Got to level 6 of Tetris with one hand, while masturbating with the other.
5. Wiped the cumshot off his keyboard and got a spiffy new sig quote in the process.
4. Took a nasty, smelly crap and remembered to use the air freshener.
3. Got 15k xp/hour in the Dunes. Solo of course. Always solo.
2. Got two scoops of raisins in his Kellogg's Raisin Bran.
And the number one Super-Awesome Life Achievement...
1. Learned how to use the copy and paste function of his internet browser.

Ok, that was uncalled for, but anyone who read this far deserved some entertainment. I sure hope Uzor isn't too sore about that Top Ten List thing.
I honestly don't give a fuck
Aw, gee... you're a real sport.

Uzor pretty much stated he didn't intend to respond to the initial post. I don't feel a need to respond to spectators, doing so never advances the argument and just gives your opponent lots of quotes to play with ::wink:: So I guess I'm done.

People, machines and the way they interact with each other have very much changed, specificlly in relation to the internet, since Mr. Heinlein passed on in 1988.

The biggest difference between the two is that Uzor recognizes his charcter flaws. Peregrine believes himself to be flawless and everyone around him flawed to the point of retardation.

It has already been said that courtesy and politeness have long since died at QCDN. If that is true, it was not a natural death. They were slowly strangled to death by Uzor and like-minded persons, while the rest of us watched and did nothing. Courtesy and politeness have never existed on the internet. They were scared away by anonymity. Your crusade would be justified if Uzor had actually been wrong, but he wasn't, was he?

Lest anyone think I'm in violation of my own doctrine, let me add another Heinlein quote.

The only thing that was injured was your pride. It's the internet, not a gun fight.

I submit that this was not only needed, but long overdue. Let's go back to the post that pissed me off.

You are reading too much into it, and you are wrong. He told you what you wanted to know, and while I can see how you might take that post as rude... it's only because of the words you emphasize in your mind. That is your emphasis, not his.

It would seem not. I'm not much of a talker, but I'm pretty good at reading people.

We all think we're good at reading people, and you might be, but you should realize that voice inflection, mannerisms and cultural differences play a large part in your ability to read people. You aren't taking any of that into account. Now, Uzor is gonna be an asshole to you no matter what because you called him an asshole (I don't know if you actually said "you're an asshole", but that is the general idea behind your posts).

Even then, a number of people are rude and I feel no compulsion to make an issue out of it. But this also touched on a pet peeve of mine: scientific method, baseless claims, bullshit detector, whatever you want to call it.

But he was right. His information was factual. He wasn't lying or making shit up. He was right. Your arguement doesn't hold water so long as you don't take into consideration that he was right.

Don't get me wrong. I post opinion frequently. I read others' opinions and enjoy doing so. I *want* people to keep this site going. I would agree with you if the question you asked hadn't been so simple. It like asking someone to prove something that is glaringly obvious to them. If you asked me to prove today is Thursday when they are looking at a calender. It doesn't matter, it's Thursday wether you believe it or not.

because my internet browser already has a copy and paste function. I don't need another one. And I think, most important of all, just show some respect for your fellow (wo)man.

Respect is earned not given.

So cram that all together into one statement, and what do you get? You cannot be a sloppy, lazy plagiarist AND be a rude, arrogant prick at the same time. Those are mutually exclusive. That doesn't fly here, or anywhere else for that matter.

He did experience the effect first hand, and that hardly makes him a plagerist. Rude would have been telling you what an idiot you were for not already knowing. Lazy would be not looking up existing info for yourself or going to test it for yourself. Arrogant prick, sure.

So that is my point and my purpose. There have been attempts to distract from and disassemble what I'm saying; but at least I have faith that the majority of readers here have a sufficient bullshit detector to see what is and isn't on topic, and what is or isn't real debate. There is no law against it. The closest you could come would be saying he was flamebaiting. He wasn't. He was giving you an answer to a question you asked.

It sure as fuck isn't his posts. Over the last few days, using secret government spy satellites, I have observed him and have compiled a list.

PRetty post does not answer my question. That doesn't state what you hope to achieve with this thread. You posted this to make you feel better? That truely does make this thread lame.

Also, the
yes, I know how the spell works
was in response to Inunabe explaining how Drain works. I don't know whether you know or not, but Drain Samba is not a spell. You're obviously more clueless than I thought. And no, it was not wit ha bolded know I said it. It was a simple statement.

And I like your list. But no, I haven't switched my car insurance to Grenco. Mainly because 1) we don't have Greinco in Sweden 2) I don't have a car because I find it useless and a good way to ruin the nature 3) we have better public transportation 4) if I want to get somewhere far, I can either go with fried/family, take the train/bus, or if that doesn't work, a cab. Or an airplane if I'm going abroad.

And I've actually pealed an orange in one piece, but that was a long time ago :P
