/sigh I realllly dont want to go over there. :/ Its not that its dagerous or antyhing, but i dont want to be in he Midlde east :/ nothing to do except wait to go home and i doubt they ahve good food there :/
thats why Dayner <,< and gl Celv, check your boots manFrom someone stationed in Baghdad. He was recently bitten by a camel spider which was hiding in his sleeping bag. I thought you'd like to see what a camel spider looks like. It'll give you a better idea of what our troops are dealing with. Enclosed is a picture of his friend holding up two spiders. Warning: not for the squeamish!
This picture is a perfect example of why you don't want to go to the desert. These are 2 of the biggest I've ever seen. With a vertical leap that would make a pro basketball player weep with envy (they have to be able to jump up on to a camels stomach after all), they latch on and inject you with a local anesthesia so you can't feel it feeding on you. They eat flesh, not just suck out your juices like a normal spider. I'm gonna be having night mares after seeing this photo!
Technically they fall under the category of crustacean (or so I've heard) because they're so big. Either way, if I see one, it's getting smooshed with a size 11 1/2 boot very, very quickly.
Pfft small feet![]()
No problem Kal - depending on what squadron you're going to, you may be over here sooner than you think. Hope you're mobility bags are ready =P
Solan - I'll be back sometime around September.
Also, I'm 5'10 and last I checked 11.5" feet were proportional. You some kind of giant, Sharpe? lol
I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking that, but you don't use the standard system Cleo.
