I find you interresting to say the least. I find it hard to believe that someone can actually think they are sooooo right about something when every single authority figure has told them they were wrong. Then, to make things even more amusing, you act as though the community has your back when that is wrong as well. Saddly you give yourself too much credit. You were never #1, but just another bitch thinking too highly of herself. You started this by making the assumption that someone's opinions, not even based on a game, were irrelivent merely because he didn't play the same game as you.... even though he DID.

That hardly made you any more of a fool than Tom, it was just a different brand of stupidity. It ultimately comes down to you being an uppity bitch. Ok, now I know what a bottom is, but dispite the fact that I hang out with and work with about 6 gay people (a mix of men and women), you seem to know something I don't know about it. What specifically is a power bottom. Is that like when the butch guy is the bottom? Cuz that is actually not all that uncommon, so I wouldn't imagine the creation of a special name for it beyond "Bottom".

I am going to have to explain now. I'm offically a senior. Guess what I'm taking my last semester? Psycological nursing. Our assignment over spring break was to create and conduct a social experiment. Sorry to make you the star of my experiment, RoM, but I felt like you could take a little heat without being harmed, I hope that you don't mind too much that I did everything I could to bait you. Honestly you seemed to be enjoying yourself, and I appreciated your ending comment quoted above, that shows that as ferocious as you are, you still have it in you to be the bigger man. I wish I could integrate it into my project somehow, I'll figure something out.

The first thing I noticed about the Cross Thread is that RoM was a strong advocate for his position, with a strong personality and was very aggressive. He also had a posse of sorts that pretty much echoed his every post, and went en masse on attack of anyone who disagreed with him.

I was going to base my experiment on that thread, when I had the good luck that he started another thread that I could actually participate in. The amazing thing is that most of RoM's "posse" were friends or at least aquaintences of mine. I decided to see how they would react to dealing with two strong personalites in a death match flame war. The experiment wasn't about RoM but about how mutual friends would react to the animosity between RoM and I.

Some results, but I still have tons of information to sort through.

Only one person realized that I was acting out of my normal character--Trippyhippy. I'm a do unto others type person who wouldn't normally wouldn't flame someone unless it was in defense of another person I felt was being mistreated. Even though most people on here know my motto is make love not war, they still didn't find it unusual that I had turned from my sweet flirty self to an illogical screeching banshee.

Shyrra who I consider a friend was sort of on the fence. He didn't want to offend either side.

Meeze, surprisingly igorned a zillion opportunites to jump in and call everyone every name in the book, chose not to get involved and actually made an attempt to create peace. Your rep is ruined meeze.

Bigboy was a surprise and an unknown entity. I know he posted in support of RoM in the other thread, but he didn't know me personally. It was interesting to see his response to me. I need more time on this one.

Bedwarmer, I actually didn't plan for you to be involved in this at all, but your posts, even though they disagreed with me, were gentle and logical in their nature. I didn't like the reference to black people, however, but I'm not supposed to judge but interperate the information based on logic.

Lots of people tried to derail the thread in order to shut things down. I know you might see this as a huge derail but RoM had multiple chances to state his point of view in progressively simple terms. I think everyone on the board got his message, even if they are dumber than dirt.

Westyle I know this little run was hard on you, will you ever forgive me? You attempted to derail the threads valiantly, but never posted in support of me. I have some questions for you that are gonna make you squirm, but you know I like making you squirm :biggrin:

Alyada was a huge surprise. I've never broken a rule on qcdn and he/she? seemed to overreact a bit. He seemed to allow personal feelings be involved in his response to me breaking a rule. Someone in an authority position flaming me unprovoked ( or perhaps I should use the word underprovoked, as I did break a rule)was an interesting respone to me posting in the WoW forum. This caused loyalty to RoM to be reinforced and tilted more people into joining in on roasting me alive. (not that I didn't deserve it.. LOL)

All in all it was fun, but exhausting. I don't see how people do this all the time, I didn't realize that flame wars required so much mental energy.

I will post more responses as I sort through data and collect statistics.
 
Friend may be a longshot, but friendly acquaintance, I may be. I don't stick up for my friends if they're saying/doing something completely illogical or unfounded. Following a friend(or anyone) blindly just because of their standing is a sheeplike quality I try to avoid.
