Level Capping

I agree with the OP 100%. I have 9 mules and it takes for fucking ever to get gear if they are on the same account. It only takes forever if they are on different accounts. SE needs to up the storage for your MH and don't give me that shit about it being all because of the PS2s capabilities. They can do it but SE is pussy, and they want to make money off your mule. Plus the fact that you can't store +1 gear????? What he fuck is that??? I hate the whole system about storage. SE needs to totally revamp this shit.

It sucks when you need to find 17 other people for something. You have to rely on the ability of, more than likely, total strangers.
I get this is a team game but making us grab 2-3 alliance for some things is just retarded...
But... level cap? Fine.. just dont make it life or death to do. As is Promy's suck bad cause without them... not Tavnazia... which blows x.x
I dunno, went in circles here.. They are needed for challenge but they are fun to gripe about. :p

I can run 2 games at once if I own two PC/PS2 whatever.. but not two on the same account.... -that- sucks. Let me load two chars at once on one account and I'll suck up the $1/month

I can't think of a single capped CoP mission that requires an alliance of 18...

Who cares about missions? Unstable Cluster.

How about Uber Primes?

That kinda stuff.. "you dont NEED to do them!"
not yet, you dont "need" an SH either, but people say you suck when you dont have one? Seems that if its available and you dont have/do it.. youre gimp. Much suckness.

We got all of our SAM's those great katanas. Wasn't hard. We just went as a LS to get them. Was a very easy event actually, don't even think we had a full alliance.

Hell, we got everyone who wanted a Swift Belt too. Wasn't too hard either.

and wtf do "uber" primes have to do with capped events? last I checked the "uber" primes weren't lvl capped...

I like lvl caps, they test skill and teamwork, and not how many 75s you can throw at a situation. Allows lower level players to actualy do things, without being able to have a 75 or so do it all for them. Like the rank missions.

One of the main reasons i'm looking forward to this new expansion is that there wont be a whole bunch of lvl cap'd madness like CoP. I havent even been able to finish the f'ing proms yet.....its ridiculous.

yoy will get sad then, cause SE said that the missions will be level capped.

The zones themselves won't be, but the boss fights will.

I like the idea of level capping in theory however i think SE did it wrong. Level capping would have been a good way to let low level people, newer players or people playing a low level job have access to some of the same neat endgame content a high level person has. give them a taste of some of the things you get to do on a larger scale at 75. it would be a valuable experience for low level characters to learn and build experience with things like creating a party for a BC fight that could be extrapolated to situations like arkangels/divine might or ks99 fights. I think SE made their mistake in making it the focus of an entire expansion set.

I also think they tried to compensate for the gear problem with the storage npcs and armor sets but i think they totally botched the job with that. my idea for storage would be something like you are allowed to store 5 armor pieces, one of each slot type and 1 weapon for each cap. so you have 6 non-specified pieces, so that you could store HQ, NQ, whatever, just a 5 piece set and a weapon for each cap (30, 40, 50, 60, uncapped).

Nail. Head. Hammer.
However, with this new "Mog Locker" i think they adressed the issue.

I loved CoP and would do it all over again. It was a huge accomplishment and you needed a lot of skill to do it. I don't think that level caps would be at all an issue if the storage space wasn't such a headache...

I have to agree with both sides on this one.

I utterly hate having to buy new gear for a certain level because a mission is capped. However, I also like that the mission itself is capped, so that everyone can enjoy them, not just the high or low level people.

For me, the gear isn't just an issue of storage either, it's a matter of gil. Even decent gear at level 20 or 30 can cost a few 100k (Unless you totally lowball it).

Then afterwards I have to find a place to store it, since god knows I'll run across something else later on that is capped, and I'll need the gear for that too. 3 mules and I still have crap for room :\, and I never use the storage NPC's because I almost never have a full set of anything but AF (which I'm constantly using).

Perhaps SE could allow PC users to pay a certain gil fee to upgrade their moghouse. Since the limitation on space is due to the PS2's limitations, maybe they can create a special storage server or four..or.. hundred.. that can only be accessed if you are on PC and pay the gil fee. Then PC users can get the space we've always wanted, with almost no advantage over the PS2 users (again, we're talking mog house not inventory) so everyone sorta wins ^^;

Then again... guess that's kinda what the lockers are going to do. I suppose whatever solution they come up with can't be quite as fucked as the storage solution we have now is.

...probably help if I did the mog house quests to upgrade my slots too..

Storage NPCs fucking suck. You will get absolutely no use from them unless you half-ass your way through CoP using complete sets of NQ gear. If you could store single pieces, that would be a great boon.

It gets old the second time through, just trust me on this one.

Blah, botched my last post, submit too early.

Skaw is right on this one, being able to store singe pieces and not just sets would help out a ton. I don't understand how they didn't see this when this idea was introduced. How many people actually use a full set of something anyway? It's usually 2-3 pieces a set mixed in with other pieces of equipment.

The game just doesn't support level capping correctly, due to the restrictions placed by the Playstation 2. You're out of your mind if you think it's a "good thing," or don't have multiple sets of 71+ armor around, or unstorable NM drop equipment and 70- RA/EX gear. Unless battles scaled based on the levels of the party members, or gear degraded itself to be usable in a level restricted area(such as Artifact Armor decreasing in bonuses to be usable in a 30 cap area,) it really only spells Playstation 2 Discontinuation in the future.

I wish it could store H.Q gear... whenever I did the missions, I mules all mulable gear, then bought a bunch of gear for that mission, then sold them back... heh XD

I pretty much did exactly the same thing. The biggest thrill for me doing CoP the second time around, was getting to the uncapped missions so I could sell all my other stuff and not deal with that issue anymore.
