Shock to help land most RDM debuffs, as spells like Paralyze, Slow and Silence are MND-based. Burn for less resistance on nukes and spells like Gravity and Blind. Elvaan is a fine race for RDM if they make up for their gimped MP.

thus proving that mnd helps nin debuff.

Well it doesn't neccassarily proove it, since it is ninjitsu and it would be like comparing BLM sleep with BRD sleep. I have never heard that MND has any baring on Ninjitsu, but I have never heard of any other stat affecting it either. One of those interesting things that could use some proving.

Typically a job's AF does a good job of showing what stats are important to the class. I would think since NIN were originally intended to be used as silly mage thingamabobers, that if MND had a direct correlation to their Ninjitsu, it would be on more gear. Not saying that you wrong, but no proof was actually given.

when going through leveling, if i had hard time sticking debuffs, i would switch to mnd gear and you can see an improvment on ninjitsu sticking

ninjitsu skill usually plays a part in it also, but that is typically capped. if i was in an area with mobs that are a level or so too high, you would be throwing ninjitsu at it over and over trying to get it to stick. hence the reason why i attempted to use mnd gear to see if it would help save time and tools. and it does help

Hmm that's interesting, did you just switch rings, or was there more to it? Just curious about how much MND you used before you saw a difference. I still have to level my NIN so it would be interesting to test this out some more.

if i was having a hard time, i used every bit of mnd gear i had. backpiece, rings, and i think i had a gorget or necklace or something. then i would switch back to eva/agi stuff after i got debuffs off

I would imagine that INT would make things like Blind and poison stick better though, as they fall into the INT sphere for mages. But then slow and requiem and all that are CHR for BRD, so maybe MND is the only Ninjitsu stat?

blind wasnt a big deal. if that didnt stick, i didnt lose money from it. i was worried more about slow and paralyze because they were more expensive and helped more. plus paralyze was a longer ninjitsu to cast and if you have to cast that twice, your lookin for problems

That all makes sense. Thanks for the insight. Now I know. ^^

From what everyone always tells me, magic skill only really helps with interruption rate. Which is actually believable to an extent. I still say there's more to it than that.

Magic skill improves the overall effectiveness of the spell you're casting. That's why BLMs are best at nuking with the highest elemental cap and RDMs are best at enfeebling because of their having the highest enfeebling in the game. WHMs have most of the enfeebling spells a RDM has but they're less likely to land them and if they do it's likely to have less impact. Same for RDMs casting the spells they share with BLMs - the BLM will do better.

Magic skill has nothing to do with spell interruption rate.

Magic skill effects the accuracy of your magics, or in the case of healing magic skill, the strength of your spells.

no summoning magic skill helps with interupt and strengh of spirts lol

That might be handy if you're a soloing SMN, otherwise no one really gives a shit. The difference between capped summoning magic and gimped summoning magic is negligible. Avatar strength is based more on the day, the weather and the strengths and weakness of whatever it is you're fighting.

i dont think there is a "best" sub job, like everything else in this game it varies from situation to situation. its more less better to have the option and research your self what works best for you in that situation. once you find that groove go with it. just keep them lvld and not gimped and most people wont care if your /smn or /blm or /whm or whatever it be. if you bring some + to the party with it and its lvld most wont bish about it. its up to you to decide what you feel personally is more helpfull in the situation your going to.

I personally once I hit 20 will be doing BLM/RDM.
BLM/RDM gets really good post 30, because of Fast Cast. In my opinion, that's one of the best job traits in the game. But I really wanna know which WHM subjob would be better for me.
I like WHM/BLM for Warp and some debuffs and nukes.
I like WHM/RDM for Fast Cast and other stuff like Dispel.
I like WHM/SMN for wicked MP, Refresh, and summons.

I suppose it depends what you're going to do. I don't get why some people are against blm/rdm I mean how often does a blm cure? Go with whatever you feel will suit you. If you think all you need are you're whm spells then i'd say go /rdm or /smn. The smn will give more mp than blm and the /rdm will give you better mnd than blm (I think). At the end of the day pick what you feel comfortable with.

This is completely wrong. Higher magic skill means less interruptions. That's also why ninja's dont get interrupted every single time they take a hit, but why war/nin's get interrupted noticably more.
