You can still play MMOs and live a healthier lifestyle, you're just choosing not to. I go on long walks several times a week and do exercise routines in my house as well. I work a computer related job from home meaning I'm getting paid to sit on my ass 40 hours a week and I can still find time to stay in shape. So yeah.

Yeah...but most people don't. I walked my dog 1 mile every day while I was playing XI and I still get really out of shape. What I'm saying is that if you're playing 12+ hours a day there really isn't enough time in the day to exercise that off.

If you play for 12 hours a day, and count 8 hours of sleep, you have 4 hours left. Which means you most likely don't go to school, nor have a job. So I'd say that counts as being extremely lazy. Not just lazy, which a lot of people can be. Which would fall in the "Something is already wrong with you" category.

Excalibur - Life failure.

Excercise is simple to fit in. Hell, when I'm waiting for my static to gather for Assault, I usually do push ups/crunches at my PC.

Yeah, during HNM windows you can go afk for 30 min to exercise. Waiting for people to gather to events, you can turn your speakers up and do exercises. You can do exercises while lfg.

You can do a lot of exercises while playing, not just actively doing anything.

Apparently you haven't noticed... most people don't play for 12+ hours a day; in fact very, very, very few people do. Those are also the only ones who are actually "addicted" to this game.

So yeah, those who are truely addicted are more likely to gain weight from this game. The other 99% of us, aren't, so we don't gain weight from playing a game.

You'd be surprised. What we're talking about though are the people that DO play 12+ hours a day.

yes, this.

yeah...my point is that most people don't do those things.

No, I really wouldn't. A lot of people might do 12 hours in a day once in a while, maybe once a week on their day off or something; but not every day. To do that every day, they have to have no work/school, no family or friends. The actual number of people like that is very small.

yes, this.
So now you're disagreeing with yourself? Great.

yeah...my point is that most people don't do those things.
I'd love to see your proof. There's nothing to show that even those very very few who do play 12+ hours every day don't also do something for mild exercise while they play. There's certainly nothing to stop them, and it's probably what's keeping them alive anyways. Just because your ass got fat while playing the game doesn't mean everyone's does.

yeah...my point is that most people don't do those things.

And you're missing my point. Someone who takes care of themselves isn't going to suffer from playing an MMO. Someone who takes care of themselves is still at dire risk of physical complications doing drugs.

Ofcourse if they're lazy or have an addictive personality, they're going to have issues. But thats not the games fault.

LOL.. if you work out while you are waiting for a party or waiting for HNM.. you are still prioritizing your game instead of your fitness. How can you honestly tell yourself that you are not addicted from the game if you can't even break free from it. You guys keep giving yourself excuses how you are not addicted to the game and yet your life revolves around it. I bet many of you schedule your lives around this game. ie. work out while you wait for a party. Just turn the damn thing off and go work out instead of just pretending your working out..You trashy nerds make me laugh.. You guys tell yourself you work out LOL.. you may not be fat but your asses are getting skinny, by that i mean muscle mass.... quit kidding yourselves..

In no way am I against video games all together, it is just that so many people become addicted, and live sad lives (AND DON'T EVEN REALIZE IT)

If you don't realize your life is sad, how does that make it sad? If you are enjoying your life, what is the problem? Who are you to tell anyone what they need to do with their lives? What makes your life so happy? Do you just always shit rainbows simply because you don't play a Japanese game? Is World of Warcraft any better since it's not Japanese?

as a result of these games, most of the blame can be put on japanese and koreans, not saying that the US doesn't produce them as well.

More Americans play American based online games than Japanese and Korean based online games.

I felt I had to plague this site

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

*breaths*

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

because it has claimed many friends...and they live sad lives now as a result...this is not a random selection of sites.

So your old friends found new friends that aren't so racist and judgemental, and now you're all butthurt about it. You coming here to troll this site makes you a borderline stalker. And you want to call someone else sad for playing a video game.

Ask yourself this....how many of you have a girlfriend/boyfriend off this stupid game? and how many of those people have met with this person in the real world after meeting them online? Now how else can that be described other than SAD. (Don't compare this to online dating either)

Sooooo... You meet someone on a video game, then in real life, and decide you love this person. That's somehow sad because you should have met them in real life first? I could write an essay on how stupid this statement is, but no one will read it because everyone already knows. Don't get me wrong, calling someone you've know exclusivly inside a video game your boyfriend or girlfriend is taking it a bit far. But if these people meet in real life and have a connection, what's wrong with that?

This will probably be my last post, but think about what you are doing.

You fuckin quitter. Don't have the balls to finish what you started?

Sure you could watch TV all day, but does it have to be alone? Sure you could "make babies" LOL as one suggested, but not because you can, find someone to give your time to, someone to love or something...why do I have to give suggestions??

Because you are the one saying it's sad and pathetic to play Japanese online games. Playing this game is just another hobby. It's no different than building Model cars, collecting stamps, playing a guitar, or any other hobby. Oh wait, yes it is, it requires you to interact with human beings (that thing you are trying to do but failing at.) where most hobbys can be done alone. Oh shit, I almost forgot, it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

this is what I am talking about. Grow up. This does not apply to all of course, but most it does.

Grow up? So growing up consists of not doing things you think are fun and find someone to have some babies with? No thanks, I think I'll continue to be a responsible child. I work, I pay my bills, I have a girlfriend and I enjoy life. Once again I ask you, who the fuck are you to tell me I'm doing it wrong?

Find something other than "socializing" in front of a pc, it's very impersonal, which is why one uses told us he likes to make fun of others. Would he do it in real life? I highly doubt it, at least not to their face. This game is not socializing. That is an unfair argument because socializing involves people...and on the other end of the pc the other person is missing SO much and you are also missing SO much.

Did you ever stop to think about how much you miss through face to face interaction? Do you think everyone really says what they think when you are talking face to face? Do you not realize you are interacting with that persons "representative" that they have chosen to present theirself?

You don't get that online. People say what they think and feel. You could live with someone for a year and not know as much about them as you would find out in a week of online interaction. There is no reason to hold anything back online. If you want to who a person really is, and not who they choose to appear to be, talk to them online.

Glad I got 7 pages of posts. Makes me feel it was worth wasting my time. Hopefully the people I am targeting see it.

You got 7 pages of people telling you how fucking stupid you are. Negative attention is just as good as positive attention though, right? You have all the self respect of a retarded wooly mammoth in a Nine Inch Nails t-shirt. I bet your mom is real proud of you.

Go ahead argue against it. Come up with lame excuses like it "socializing" or "develops teamwork"...thats a very long shot...and you know as well as I do that it is a sad attempt.

Yes, you know all about the socializing and teamwork that doesn't happen inside a game you have never played.

And for you people who answered back using lingo from this stupid game...YOU ARE IDIOTS.

I have to agree with you there. You people that brought game lingo to a message board themed on said game are ... oh wait.

BTW - I am not a soccer mom, nor am I going to discuss my religious views with you, I am someone trying to save a select few. You other people are just extra. (kill two birds with one stone) And as conforming to the government...my favorite music is 60's protest songs...so you decide about that. I'm not one of these people who believe you should do everything the government tells you, like join wars...

Whatever. People like you can keep on laughing and ridiculing because people like us are different. We'll keep laughing because people like you are all the same.

Some of you people remind me of cocky little teens that have way too much time.

You think that has something to do with the fact that some people that post here are teenagers? Surely teenagers wouldn't act like teenagers...

Seriously though, you should schedule an appointment to get that stick removed from your ass. If someone wants to live their life this way, that is their choice. If you've lost friends to this game, that is your fault and you need to quit blaming the game for being more interesting than you. Learn how to not be a "grown up" all the god damn time. Live a litttle. Try something new. Did you forget why you used to play when you were a kid? Have you forgotten what it is like to truely enjoy yourself? Does it bother you so bad that you want to make everyone as unhappy as you have become yourself?

If you want to know what is truely pathetic, you don't need to be looking at people having fun playing a video game. You need to be looking in the mirror.

You like 60's protest songs? Try listening to the words to some of them. You think John Lennon would criticize people for doing what they love? You think arlo guthrie would tell us to grow up? Do you think Richie Haven gives a damn about what we do with our free time? Do you think John Sebastion would have everyone live life just like he does?

No, it's people like that who want us to be free and do whatever we want as long as we aren't hurtin anyone else.

Why must every generation think they're folks are square?
And no matter where they're heads are, they know mom's aint there.
Cause' I swore when I was small, that I'd remember when,
I knew what's wrong with them, that I was smaller than.

Determined to remember all the cardinal rules.
Like, sunshowers are legal grounds, for cutting school.
I know I have forgotten maybe one or two.
And I hope that I recall them all before the baby's due.
And I'll know he'll have a question or two.

Like, hey pop. Can I go ride my zoom?
It goes twohundred miles an hour, suspended on baloons.
And can I put a droplet of this new stuff on my tounge?
And imagine puffing dragons, while you sit and wreck your'e lungs.
And I must me permissive, understanding of the younger generation.

And then I know that all I've learned, my kid assumes.
And all my deepest worries must be his cartoons.
And still I'll try to tell him all the things I've done,
relating to what he can do when he becomes a man.
And still he'll stick his fingers in the fan.

And hey pop, my girlfriend's only three.
She's got her own bitty phone,
and she's taking LSD.
And now that were best friends, she want's to give a bit to me.
But whats the matter daddy? How come your'e turning green?
Can it be that you can't live up to your dreams?

Just because your ass got fat while playing the game doesn't mean everyone's does.

I didn't get fat, I got out of shape, unhealthy. Our argument is beside the point anyway. I was talking about the relation between drugs and MMO's, not tips on how to stay healthy while playing an mmo.

And you're missing my point. Someone who takes care of themselves isn't going to suffer from playing an MMO. Someone who takes care of themselves is still at dire risk of physical complications doing drugs.

It depends on the drug and the user. Someone who takes care of themselves and uses responsibly will only be mildly physically affected by doing drugs.

It's not the drugs fault it's being abused either.

Uh, I'm not talking about addiction. Heroin can cause your heart to shit out. It doesn't matter how often or "responsibly" you use it.

No Videogame will ever cause any problems with you, unless there was something already wrong with you to begin with.

and X can kill you on the first pill if you're allergic to it(which many people are iirc). Not doing heroin ever would fall under the "being a responsible drug user" category.

Not a rolleyes big enough.

All drugs have health risks involved. Irregardless of how responsible you think you are with them. Despite what you read on some internet article written by a teen in his parents basement, things aren't made up about drugs by the government just to control you.

No

Swing and a miss.

All the right criteria, is: being fucked up in the first place.
