So yeah ...
I've been accepted to college and that's all well and good. But there's something wrong ..

I should be excited but ... I'm not. I don't know why but ... I'm like ... empty lately. The only thing I have to look forward to is 4 more years of hell before my life can really start, and even then, I'll be paying off student loans my entire life. My parents had no college fund (You haven't the slightest idea how much that pissed me off .. it's like they think I'm stupid or something; and no, we're not poor) and so far I only have one year's college funded so far. Only .. three more to go... /sigh
It doesn't help that my love life is non-existent either. I haven't had that feeling in longer than I can remember, and it's killing me. I can rise so god damn much in no time at all ... but then I come crashing down and I feel so horrible. Some people say love stinks .... and I say, to whoever said that, FUCK. YOU. Because that statement is the biggest piece of horseshit since .. well .. ever.

Coupled with the fact that one of my really good friends is leaving for CA tomorrow, and is completely ignoring me when I asked to do something with her one last time , and also the fact that one of my best friends committed suicide earlier this month.

Shit. Stinks.

I hope things turn around and pick back up for you flag, I am sorry to hear about your Friends passing, and that your other friend is ignoring you, it might be because of the whole situation with your other friend passing away. You're going to college and yes Payment sucks, for me i have to pay double because I'm considered an International student still but meh.

Hopefully in college if you're living on campus and not at home, things will start to pick up like your love life ^^; you'll also make a ton of new friends too. Not saying you should forget your old friends either

Usually college starts off interesting, then it turns out to be an amazing experience. You'll make new friends who forever will be your colleagues. It's likely you'll find a girl you have chemistry with too, and girls like to see a man that works. Count your blessings cause they are there even though they are being outweighed right now.

For awhile you'll have less money in your pocket and life goes on. Do good, get that career, then wipe that debt clean how ever you please. Use your man powers.

Sorry about everything that's happing to ya >.< Yeah, Life sucks and that "Love stinks" comment, I completely agree with that. I have the same feelings as you about that.

Does it help I think you have the funniest sig evar?

College woes are tough ones. For most people, though they won't admit it, one of the biggest causes of depression is being away from home. No matter how "unhappy" you are when you're home, there's something comforting about the familiarity of it. Putting yourself in a whole new environment can be tough for anyone. I know that's not what you're going through right now but it's something you should prepare yourself for.

The best advice I have about getting out of your slump is to go out and do things. Don't worry so much about funding college, where there's effort and perseverance there's always a way to pay for it. Make sure that you make time for your work and your play. So many students (myself included) get burnt out in a short time because we took too much on trying to speed up the process. Join clubs, even if you only go to the first few meetings and find out it's not for you. They are a great way to meet new people and especially new relationships. Try things you haven't done before, you never know if you like them or not. Hell, I did a few months of ballroom dancing because it was different than anything I'd tried. It ended up with me meeting a few girls I probably never would have otherwise.

Don't approach college as a means to a career, it doesn't work that way for most people. Approach it as a way to discover who you really are and what you want to do with the rest of your life. Even if you think you already know what that is, you might surprise yourself what changes when you have experienced more. I started out in computer engineering and ended up in entrepreneurial management. Worlds apart.

Lastly, don't seek out love. Sure seek out companionship, seek out someone to spend time with. If love grows from there, so be it. Forcing yours or another persons feelings never ends in a healthy way. I've seen way too many people assume that their highschool/freshman romances are going to last forever and the truth is 99% of them don't. I say don't worry about it. The future is what happens while you're busy living your life. Don't worry about if it will last forever, just worry about enjoying today.

Don't link your happiness to a relationship either. Find other things that make you happy. I used to get depressed all the time because I was single. Something clicked one day where I realized that it's not who I'm with that defines me, it's who I am whether alone or with another. Depression is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Believe that you are happy, and oddly enough, you start to feel happy. You can trick yourself into enjoying life without any real reason needed.

She doesn't know him, so that's not it.
And that Int'l student thing is wicked non-homosexually gay.

Eh, idk. I hope so. I just hope I don't get stuck with some jackass in my dorm room.

God damn I hope so. Nothing can be more un-interesting than where I am now.

And lol ... "man powers" huh?

I came up with that on the spot, but at least someone else agrees with me. :p

And yes ... yes it does. >_>

(Edit since Taurothar is a ninja bastid)

I've been prepared to go for awhile now, as long as I have friends it's pretty much easy for me to be anywhere. That's the least of my worries right now.

I've been trying to do things, but sadly when no one else is 'round to do stuff with it gets pretty boring fast. I'm not one of those "go to the bar and meet people" kind of guy, and I never will be. I figure meeting people in everyday life is an easier way, and it usually fuels better friend/relationships since you're linked by how you met living your day-to-day lives.

As far as college goes, I know what I want to do and I'm going to a specialised college to do so. Ever since I started my Video Production class over at a tech school during high school, it basically clicked for me.

I guess you can say I'm one of those "I need other people around me to be happy. If no one is, shit stinks" kind of guys. So I can't help but seek out other people, romantically or otherwise. One of the main reasons I play FFXI you could say.

I've tried to believe if I think happy thoughts I'll feel happy, but that never really worked for me. I need a concrete thing to make me feel a concrete way.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I appreciate it.

And Seriously, first time I seen one of your posts with that sig, I cried, alot...

I like my recent addition as well. B)

Yeah lol'd at that earlier today too

I know what you mean with your statement on friends. I went through what your going through about 3 weeks ago. If you have some sort of breakdown for even 5 minutes, let it happen, can be the best thing for you.

You may be suffering from post graduation depression when your doing nothing for a while and waiting for the next big turning point in your life. (That being college.) That's what people have told me anyway. A whole new routine, a whole group of people are awaiting in September. I can't wait, I'm sure many others can't either.

I just need to try to keep my mind off it ... unfortunately, that doesn't always work, which sucks.
