yeah that's a typo >,>

"...stop stuff before it starts"

LOL seems like this flame has jumped from Jamal to.............what now? As for admins abusing their power, I really dont see any reason for that accusation. Seriously is bashing mods this years trend in flames?

Yeah, what's with this flame and how it keeps going on and on?

Oh.

LOL i just can't stop posting in this flame!!! And some other stuff I know nothing about!
Good job on mini-necroing this thread. It was dead for a week and would have stayed that way most likely.

And where was I bashing the mods/admins? I was just asking about a potential abuse of power, and Miros confirmed it would have been. He then gave what I thought were justifiable reasons why he would do it if he felt it was a needed course of action. I did not feel the need to inquiry further, so i didn't. He would have had my support had he pulled the trigger. I don't bash the mods/admins. I've been in their position in different and similar forms. I know what they go through. But all this is a mute point now considering the ban is over, and the other thread is locked.

Next time, try gathering more information before you make a post in which you have little-to-no knowledge of the original intention. But kudos on not abusing caps and smilies.

I don't understand how any person can be fucking opposed to a points system. How the fuck else is gear going to be distributed fairly in a brand new ls?

The way I run my shell is attendance based not points based. Way it works is we do 1 week T1/T2, next T2/T3 following T3/T4. Lotting rules are T1 YOYD T2-T3 you get one item + trophy (rest is free lot) and T4 is 1 item + 1 synth item (rest is free lot). ZNM's can drop multiple pieces of gear and T3 is virtually guaranteed one-two pieces armor and 1-2 grips. We do 6 specific T1/T2 NM's (Vulpangue, chigre, ob, anataboga, verdelet, + iriz ima) because those are the easiest ZNM and you can spam tons of them in not much time assuming you have around 10 or more people.

So basically the way my shell works is you get out of it what you put into it; we run 4 nights a week mon-thurs. People that miss runs miss trophy's and have to pray multiple items drop from other runs or basically just get to lot grips. I've been running it about 2 months and it's worked out splendidly; the people that have shown to znm consistently are already 3/5 on sets in less than 8 weeks, most with multiple sets on top of other random drops from the T1/T2 like capes, pigaches, money drops (i.e. Organics), what have you.

Heh, and again, this thread jumps to another subject. The thread not having been posted on for a week doesnt mean its dead, or that i necroed it. I mean shit, where does it say that one cant post on a thread just cuz its been a week since someone posted on it huh?. Heh, Im damn sure EVERYONE knew the intention of this thread, and that intention was carried out. Had it been an ACTUAL necro, a mod woulda locked the thread asap, and yet, didnt do it, so how about YOU get ur facts straight before jumping to conclusions?

Oh and jyak, way to PC +1 shows you had nothing creative to say. Hell, at least Pooky here tried to make a point and I commend him for that.

Your shell is centered around the lesser NMs. Ours is centered on the Tier IV. To effectively do this, YOYD won't work. You're not going to find many people concerned with drops of each tier III...so completing sets quickly and effectively becomes a concern. Why should someone spend their zeni on Nosferatu when they could be doing achamoth for example. Once the need for gear is gone from it, so is the need to kill the NM.

Also, suppose you do 2 achamoths. The person who actually wants the sword doesn't have it drop on his, but someone else who wants it to sell gets it on theirs. In a points system, assuming equal attendance, the person who would use the sword would get it in the above example. Like Auron said, there's no other way to do it without points.

The ONLY drawback to the points system is the drain and time commitment it puts on me.

You've been around 8 weeks, we've been around since February, killing 3 Tier IV's per week. Yes, your system works. But the focus of the shell is completely different.

First, you're the one that jumped this thread to this subject. You didn't even answer the body of what I was saying. Second, I called it a mini-necro, not a full necro. There is a big difference. Most of the time I would have let it be, but you decided to use some subtlety in calling me out (whether you realize it or not and was the focus of the body of my previous post, which you either agreed with or ignored). Also notice the bold part. Now look in the spoiler:
Spoiler:
So whats your move Hollie? Remember, YOU decide, not anyone else. And please folks, continued bashing isnt gonna get either party a resolution. This is now for Jamal and SnB to sort out with Hollie.

A whole lot of drama ensued here and IF an amicable resolution is reached (altho I doubt it) it would go a long way to show everyone involved in a better light.

Just leave it be, THIS is a dead horse thats been beaten way too much.

The ball is in YOUR court Hollie :) do what YOU feel is right.

...this has gone on long enough and innocent parties almost got stuck in the crossfire (save for you Khidir). Both parties just let this issue go and let it serve as a lesson learned for everyone.

Finally, a wise and sensible decision on your part, altho I must say, a little late. BUT! Better late than never. This thread has played itself out, mods or admin, mind lockin it? :)
Don't go about calling for the end of a thread so many times only to start it back up again when it finally dies down. It's called saying one thing and doing another. Also your post that started this back up served no purpose to the thread. Don't call out people on PC+1 posts when a good majority of yours are the likewise.

I hope it was for his shitty playing style, and not his totally bullshit attitude here. Because ohhh man he might PC +1 you a new flame about puppies or some bullshit like that.

Yea...it was early. Overexaggerated, my bad

np blame the sch in me didn't like seeing dates toss around xD either way a lot of people have the lower tier items they want and they bid out for like 2-3 points or free lot it works fine for us.

Your shell is centered around the lesser NMs. Ours is centered on the Tier IV.

Have to kill the lessers to get to T4~ in the 8 odd weeks we've been doing it this way we've killed a handful of T4 and just this week completed another handful of final round T3 mobs so more have T4 pops. I wouldn't say we're focused on lessers at all.

Why should someone spend their zeni on Nosferatu when they could be doing achamoth for example.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Hachiryu_Haidate

Maybe that's one reason? :o
And they're not r/e so they can be sold in bazaar, which kind of nulls this idea that "Once the need for gear is gone from it, so is the need to kill the NM." Because it isn't unless they have what they want from T4. And even so in any T4 there's virtually one item if not more that is easily worth a mil or more.

You're not going to find many people concerned with drops of each tier III...so completing sets quickly and effectively becomes a concern.

This is true, which is why attendance determines what you are or are not eligible to pop, especially as we get further along to T3/T4. However I wouldn't say I'm concerned about completing sets quickly, we have a pretty standard schedule to complete sets in 2-3 weeks tops, all paths. That's pretty decent if you ask me, means it's entirely possible with a little luck to get 3/5 enkidu, oracle, or aurum in under a month if they attend all the events.

Also, suppose you do 2 achamoths. The person who actually wants the sword doesn't have it drop on his, but someone else who wants it to sell gets it on theirs. In a points system, assuming equal attendance, the person who would use the sword would get it in the above example.

I don't see why that's fair. Assuming they both have equal attendance why does one get more priority than the other? Because they can use it? That other person can't use the money? Gimme a break. In my opinion, that's where your system fails and mine shines. The person who popped it should get what they want not because they can use it more than the other but because they worked to get that pop by attending events and doing what they're supposed to and should be rewarded accordingly.

The ONLY drawback to the points system is the drain and time commitment it puts on me.

Is the same with us~ 4 nights a week, 2- 2 and a half hours a night.

Double post, apologies forgot to ask how is your shell centered on T4 mobs? You guys just focus on one path and zerg it?

Yeah pretty much we say at the beginning of the week(Monday) we want to have say 3 Sarameyas ready for sunday so then that monday night we do all the T1s then that wednesday we do all the T2s then that friday/saturday we do all the T3s then pop a bunch of the T4s on Sunday.

You've done a handful. We do a handful a week. My point exactly

That point was about gearing from tier III's. To get to your haidate, you need to kill all tier III's. Meaning, you can't just spam what people want from that path the most, achamoth. You need a balance. To get that balance, YPYD won't work. Find me some non-ra/ex gear with the exception of Organics (which shouldn't be this expensive) that sells consistently over a mil

And we're able to do 5/5 in 3 weeks.

You shouldn't really be talking about a shell 'failing' when we've been doing this more effectively than you, for longer than you, and writing half the strategies your shell is using to attempt tier IV's.

Is the same with us~ 4 nights a week, 2- 2 and a half hours a night.

Your shell puts in that time. So does mine. The points system drawback is on me keeping track of it. 8-10 hours a week of unrewarded work to keep everything in line. No, it is not the same as you.

Can't believe you said my shell fails, rofl. Fucking tool.

Can't believe you said my shell fails, rofl. Fucking tool.

I think he was just refering to the point system rather than the whole shell, that's clearly not the case where ZNMs are concerned. Why are you being so confrontational, as far as i'm aware there's not a whole lot of dedicated ZNM shells on our server, surely it would be more helpful to remain on good terms with one-another so we can help each other out if & when the need arises.
