You should have a little hover text message telling you why a thread was locked when you point at thread_lock.gif on the thread list menu.

Or at least always leave a last post saying why a thread was locked.

I see most threads getting a post stating a reason. What ones in particular are you referring to?

That isn't really important, I don't care why the thread that spawned this got closed, butit got closed without a reason. Most threads get a last post stating why. Some don't.

Sorry I can't be of much help at this moment, but I don't have a reason to give you. It always seemed common procedure to leave a notice why anything like that was done. When Miros is back on, I'm sure that he can shine some light on the topic.
 
I locked the meeze one because the comments just weren't helpful anymore. Everything that needed to be said was said.

Not sure about the word association one however.
 
We usually have an explanation as to why a thread is locked. This one is going to be locked because...we have explained why some were locked and whatnot! lulz
