lol@my college (serious topic)

2 words, christian school. What really can you expect I mean cmon.

It's not just a christian school, it's a christian college. It's supposed to be a place of higher education, not a place for ignorance.

Blancho, where do you live? I want to come hit on you with malicious intent. Maybe you'll get lucky. <.< I'm not gay myself, but I have quite a number of gay friends... since gay people rock!

My biggest pet peeve in this world is the intolerance of certain people, and you sir, are one of them. What is you're problem, seriously? The worst part is, there's no reasoning with people like you. You're so blindly set in your belief that no amount of talking will help.

And Westyle... check out the rules at Pensacola Christian College. Hi-larious.

Bolded the words that may help clear up your confusion on the matter.

no, it doesn't you gotta be equal, if gays (as in men) like each other, its the same with women, its wrong. It doesn't make it a tiny bit more sense for them

No I think it's equally wrong.

Really? So what's up with this?

I want to make it clear I don't approve of gay woman either infact I like them in (in some ways) less but it makes a tiny bit more sense for them (in some ways also). None the less I don't like either.

You like them less? So you would severally beat up a gay woman too but worse? Wow, that's pretty low. Hurting women is an awful thing to do.
What I'm really curious about is what you mean it making a "tiny bit more sense." What are you implying by this? I want to see how your mind works.

forgive the poor example, hopefully it's crude enough that at least a couple people get my point (punny, HAH).

O <-> O = kinda...

- <-> O = no ?

I don't get it.

Way i figure it if no one's gettin a hole plugged no one's havin any fun .. or at least not as much as they should be.:spiteful:

Don't you guys get it? Blancho is just scared. This manly thug act he is putting on, saying he use to beat gay people up is just a cry for help. Blancho is just having trouble expressing his sexuality, he deep down knows that he just wants a little butt secks.

Blancho, you should go to a shrink and start figuring out how to let out all this pent up homosexuality. ;) I bet you raped the ones you beat up cause you thought it was cool!

Jerk. :(

Precisely: "Methinks thou doth protest too much."

I personally find his comments about how if a gay person tried anything on him... hilarious. There's nothing more of a turn on than an ignorant homophobe. Seriously, that kind of attitude is just pathetic.

I am gay and a Christian, I just ignore the self-righteous blowhards who think that God says they're better than we are. The same people who 30, 50 years ago (ooh, or maybe even today) would be saying "Well, he shouldn't drink from the same water fountain as me, he's not my equal, he's colored!"

I was blown away by this. Assuming a college that has a religious background is not accredited. There are TONS of colleges, from a small to large size universitys that have religious backgrounds, whether it be cathiloc/christian or whatever.

I will take Notre Dame for example, a prestegious university that is cathiloc, as well as one of the most known college football programs.

Well, I mean it's not like every school that calls itself a university is acreddited. Bob Jones University, for example, has been open since the 30's and only began to seek accredation in 2004.

I too was blown away when I found out you don't have to be accredited to have a "student" body of 5000 and call yourself a university. Not long afterward, I found out that this is common practice with many religous schools. It keeps them from having to teach things such as Evolution and other things creationists don't believe in.

The collages you speak of, like Notre Dame are accredited and do teach those things, reguardless of spiritual beliefs.

Meh, just got back from a church gathering thing. Wahoo for anti-gay protesters! Our church just allowed people to be openly gay in the church, and even hold gay & lesbian socials for them.

Ironic thing is, all the protesters are catholic, and are protesting against a catholic church. Hmmmm.

I could care less if people are gay, straight, bi, metro-sexual, whatever. I have gay friends, I have alot of straight friends, I have bi friends, and I have many metro-sexual friends. Doesn't make them any less human.

It is a common missconception organizations such as collages have that they are doing people a favor by disallowing gatherings such as a GSA. However, I can understand how such thoughts are concieved.

The first thing I thought about this topic was, "Wow, well they may have done them a favor since such a climate is perhaps not a safe place for people to make any kind of ruckus. This being even more the case when dealing with overly zealous college students attempting to go over the Dean's head about such a thing."

As I thought about it more though, I slowly came more to the idea that such thinking was perhaps a little backward and left no room for progress. People will eventually have to come to terms with sexual orientation and how little it actually affects them at their school, but the authorty has to acknowledge it first or it becomes increasingly difficult to not be called a riot as your numbers increase and conflicts arise. I deffinately think even the E-mail itself may proove to be a catalyst since seeing it get shot down the way it did may spur fires in enough students to try and force a change.

Changes like this don't happen in days, weeks, or even months. It will take years, long after the people originally attempting to make the change, for something really revolutionary to happen.

Okay didn't read teh whole thread, but holy shit Blancho... You're in the gayest Dynamis shell on the server and you're like this? WTF. And to think you demand men in the shell to have sex with you...

Interesting. I cant say I knew of a single religious school that wasnt accredited off the top of my head. I can name tons that are and are legit/good schools. I am probably just biased due to my own personal experience. I as well did not know you could call yourself a university and not be accredited. Good to know.

All in all my experiences have been different then most people. I went to a christian university(Anderson University, had chapel 2 days a week, had to take christian 2 education classes) that gave me a very good education and then I did my first internship for the organization(International Church of God offices) that helps fund the University. When it comes down to it, the religious organization pretty much has a say in every major rule the college enforces. Because if its a rule that the religious organiaztion doesnt agree with they can pull thier funding. Also in my particular case, the religious organization owned half the land the university was built on, so there was a lot more stake.

So I would say in the case of the OP its probably somthing to that degree, especially if the college/university is struggling for funds in the first place. Probably is somthing the college/university just cant go along with.
