looks like SE patched windower

Yup, I've the same problem as Cohen. Though it's a recent development, this blue screen upon zoning thing... Didn't have a problem until after the system message about Mhaura and to get the hell out of there. It was after that, when using the 'porter in Windurst Waters and again zoning into the Moghouse from Windurst Woods that I received the blue screen of complete frozenness. I'm not coming back for a few days, to see if they've fixed this problem.

Note: I may have dual screens on a laptop install, but I don't have Windower, so it's not that, at least.
 
I bet the emergency maintenence rapes that version too

Orginally, FFXI was made for PS2 only. It was first released in Japan as an online PS2 game then to PC. When the game came over to the United States it was released PC first then to PS2. The game wasn't orginially designed for a windower option since it was well.. PS2 :O!

Archbells has a fix already, he's just deciding how to release it because his site is getting hammered so bad. So stop panicing and give it a day.
 
According to what I found on the archbell site(forums), go back to windower 3.2, it's helped pretty much everyone (not all though)

And yeah, using 3.2 now... no alt-tab so I'm going nuts.. and no HP% nor TP stuff.. but! I can be here :D

I've tried all of the windower fixes, I've tried playing without the windower, nothing works, I log on and my game crashes before my character loads up. If there's not an actual fix sometime soon, I'm going to be forced to quit because I simply cannot get on at all.
 
well, I am logged in right now using my windower... v3.2

sorry to hear you guys are having troubles.
