looks like SE patched windower

Sounds like a corrupted update. File checker would reveal that immidiately. Best bet though is just wait a day or two and see if any patches fix it or reinstall. I had that same problem a while back when SE did the last big update. Reinstall cleared it up.

Just an update for u all. I called SE and found out the blue window, which in my case shutdowns my whole fucking computer, is a known issue and they have no idea why its happening. Kinda figures -_-;

Makes me wonder if they implemnt some kind of test before releasing these updates..... w/e, they'll prolly have this fixed ina few days.

If u have the time i suggest calling them and having them run the Dxdiag thing on your computer and emailing them the information to help speed up the process.

Yeah, I'm going to try re-instaling and waiting for a patch to come out before I think about quitting. I'm going to wait untli after to 20th before I try a re-install though, just in case they finally fix this.
 
Just got done with the file checker, 162 files were corrupted with the update so now I have to completely re-install. Good fucking Going SE.
 
Son of a bitch, My CD drive is broken AGAIN. If i need to reinstall someone is going to pay.

Myrrh u on a NA FFXI if so i give u site for the .raw files of every FFXI NA COP and d1 d2 d3 and zilart its some where wrote it down pm me if u need it
 
New Update,
I tryed teh file checker on my FFXI and have no corrupted files so im @ a loss if its my computer fucking up.
 
I'm a FFXI player that uses a computer! and with all honestly I dont feel that FFXI should hog my entire PC. I havea good PC that can do many things and having the windower just makes me more efficent with my time

Seeing TP and MP of my entire alliance is pretty cool but i can Live without it.. But the main reason i got the windower casue on the PC we have things called background programs that pop up sometimes when we dont want them too Example( virus Sheilds, Pop up adds, Spyware removal Software) and when using the windower I'm not booted off line when those things pop up

Which i thinks help you just as much as it helps me Think about it this way... If im a WHM and Norton pops up to do its normal "Look at me ive poped up to tell you im here for no reason" type thing which disconects me leaving Our EXP party without a WHM and you all die.. then I think it benifits you that i have the windower :P casue that would have prevented that party wipe form happening.

I'm an honest man.. you can ask anyone who knows me in game that i would never use the windower to cheat... its simply a convience

Update,
FINALLY got it to work. Myrrh try uninstalling your graphics driver and reinstalling it using the creators website. I did this and now have no problem using FFXI or windower v3.2. Good thing too... all my plants were about to die ;p. Hope this helps neone else having problems. Many thanx to Bladj who posted this idea in another thread.

AH-HA!! That explains why I thought all you fuckers were nuts when I first read this thread! I didn't even know there was a newer version than 3.2. Of course I had no reason to look because the old one does what I needed it too (Windowed FF) and I'm not into all the TP pluggin crap. That stuff really does feel too much like cheating to me.
