My first experience with him http://www.qcdn.org/ffxi/showthread.php?p=475681&highlight=lordgama#post475681

I was in a XP pt in CN where a group of up and coming GS and this kid were xping.

I saw him time to time and made fun of how gimp he was.

I XP'd with him a few months on my NIN and his WAR which is now 75...sporting a SH.

Well, tonight I XP with the kid again on his 61 SAM. Mofo is wearing the 50 RSE, but switches to Byrnie which is acceptable. We get to fighting and I have hate the whole way through pretty much, even though I didn't WS till the end of the fight since I had dumped TP at end of last fight.

I did a quick look up and saw a SATA, so I ask I not be SATA'd (yes, in a non threatening way). I get "i didnt sata u noob". This guy really types like a moron, I wish the chat was still in my log.

Well, of course I go straight for the neck, and call him a gimp for not having a Harby, but i do!!!!!:

(yes I'm proud of my photoshopping skills and will spam this picture like I did with this one:

)

Well, anyway, it goes on a bit, then it comes out that DRKs do 1200 Rampages everytime. I add "maybe with Souleater" and "DRKs with axes are idiots". The PLD, Threshould let's me know axes are cool on DRKs, and Lordgama replies "800+ without Souleater".

Well, I can tell you right fucking now, I plan on 800+ every time on WAR with an A- rating, alone on DRK.

Well, turns out this kid has a 60 DRK as well. Which leads to my next obvious question. "You have 75WAR, 61SAM, and 60DRK, but no Hauby?"

The answer is of course obvious as well: "I have full str merits noob"

Oh ya, of course, how could I be so dumb, I'm supposed to merit so I can use shitty gear.

Then he does a nice attack on me (bare with me, I'm trying to reproduce his sentence by memory) "ur in my dynamis ls jus wach wen"

I have no clue, and we continue to bicker some more.

"ur lucky i let u in my dynamis LS wach wen"

I explain to him that I am long time friends with the leaders of that LS, from before he even dreamed of being 75.

He tells me he's going to boot me, but I let him know I left that LS like 4 months ago, but he persists and tells me to "wach wen" which I finally figure out means "watch weds".

I try to explain again, but he tells me "u did sandy with us sat"

No, you fucking moron, I was in Xarcabard getting my Scouter's Jerkin.

My laughter is pretty uncontrolable at this point, and he doesn't say anything after that, so I drop it and continue to xp.

This kid is a real piece of work, I'd suggest stepping away from this dolt at all costs, thank you for your time, I will see you in my next flame.

Someone get the WAAAAAAAAAAMBALANCE 'cause poor mezzie poo had a gimpy in his party.

Aww that Meezie such a caring young man to have his feelings hurt by a gimpy boy and yet he still wants to warn us to stay away from him. What an unselfish young man he is.

:/ And to think Lordgama is in my Assault LS too.. Although, when we were running Salvage, he was with us then too, and he was the puller, and kept running into aggro which brought us unneeded mobs that had us wipe or barely living.

I didn't know Macs had such extravagant photo-editing programs such as MS Paint.

Blancho it's obvious you have a thing against Meeze - and myself as well but that's a tale for another day - but I'll take a legit whiner flame over a boring "I won't say who did this to me, but to everyone else please don't do this!" flame anyday.

This may be a short and largely juiceless thread but at least there's a point. 3 months down the road when your party is looking for a main tank and Lordgama is the only one seeking, you can at least recall this thread and take a hunch that his gear is less than perfect to hold hate from your DDs.

Threads like this aren't nearly as interesting as others but they have indubitably saved me from shitty pt's on a couple occasions. I've skipped over at least half a dozen potential invitees due to flames against them, that number sounds low but most of my jobs are static'd so I don't start/join many exp groups outside of merits. The flameboard can be useful, this is a prime example.

Don't let that get to your head Meeze. I'd much rather praise a flame someone else started.

I don't have anything against anyone. I just agree with some people less then others. If there was anyone I really didn't like it was peregrine but even then I asked that he not be banned. If it wasn't for people like Meeze here qcdn would be dull. None the less I never have liked whiners. But you do have a point. I will say this though Lordgama is a good player not everyone is rich and plays this game all the time to get rich. I don't know if Meeze would rather have him buy gil or be gimp to his standards of gear. As for the skill of the player Lordgama is a good player. As for what Chrono said I don't know how he is as a puller though lol.

It's obvious everyone is gimp compared to Meeze because if their gear is better then meeze then they didn't bring food so their gimp or if they bring food and have bad gear their gimp or if they sneeze their gimp or if they argue with meeze their gimp if anyone does anything that meeze doesn't like their gimp so GET ON HIS BANDWAGON OR BE GIMP!!!

Is it wrong that seeing this kids name "Lordgama" raised flags in my head?

Like, call me weird, but I won't party with anyone with "Lord" "Destruction" "God" "Doom" "Sephiroth (or any variation of that)" "Cloud" and various other names that sound like they came from 12 year olds.

That's just me though.

i dont know about this, i dont think getting a hauby is a stretch, or requires one to be "rich".

I understand how it could be pricey for some, but i think when your highly involved in a game that thrives on cooperation, you're automatically slated into a mutual obligation to have some sort of gear standards,

merits, gear, food, meds.... they dont just benefit you, sure your the only one that gets a sense of accomplishment from obtaining them, but all those things add to the success and effectiveness of those around you, and likewise their gear and play affects you also...

I really don't like the "not everyone is rich" argument, everyone started this game on an equal plane, and each player had equal opportunity to find a source of revenue. I spent an entire summer doing nothing but mining and skilling up smithing, gil in - gil out, and hey guess what, i earned a permanent flow of gil. Even if all you do is farm, better gear = better output, Better output = quicker farming, quicker farming = more gil, more gil = better gear. Its a never ending cycle.

I think most people know this stuff isnt a mystery, i'm sure some are even thinking "duh", but there seems to be a large contingent of player who have given up on making gil because it seems hard, its not hard, its just time consuming.

Like I said though not everyone plays that much to do that. You said you spent "a whole summer" to earn gil farming/smithing and also that it's not hard it's just time consuming. for someone who only plays 10-20hrs a week and that includes events like sky thats not much time left over and he's in BoL which is a pretty active shell.

Well this I can't deny.

Hauby is one of those must-have pieces though. I can understand not getting one until later in your 60s, but it's such a huge boost to so many critical stats that it really can't be overlooked. Especially if you have that many jobs that can use one. I suppose it's less of a screaming need for sam, but war & drk have no better options for the body slot until Berk or Adaberk (which are both just the same thing with added bonuses).

I've never been too good at making money, but our static stopped dead in it's tracks when we hit 60 since we had 3 people that need Hauby's and we refused to level further without them. I got lucky with a couple NMs and managed to afford mine in 3 weeks, but some people stop levelling for months just so they can afford that one l33t piece.

Haubergeon, and all it's variants, is probably the one piece of gear in the game (attainable before 70) that can replace a player's lack of skill. It's big, and to ignore it for that long is a bit of an indication how much LG cares about his char. I don't know him so I won't argue his skill or anything of the sort but devotion to a job can always be measured by anyone - friend or not - just by looking at how prepared a player is for their upcoming levels.

if you only play 10-20 hours a week then you need to budget that time more effectively, i think dedicating most of it to an endgame shell is a poor choice. Because unlike partying, endgame is extremely cooperative, everyone should be bringing their best to the table. And unless your shell is hard up for bodies, then taking a break and working on gear for a while would benefit the shell and the player more in the long run.
