lotting for looks = meh

I'm Guilty!!

Opaline, santa hats, trick staffs, swim gear... etc etc. Even a guide beret.

I didn't do the opo-opo crown because: Everyone else had a crown! And I got a zenith crown instead because it's a prety lil' tiara! It just so happens that the stats on it are really nice. O-hat was a pride item.

Even at lower levels I'd prance around proudly in my seer's gear... running up and down lower jeuno just so that everyone could see me in it. Boy did my ego swell in my lvl 29 gear-- cus it looked soooo good.

In RPG games we're largely effected by the way an item looks/ and the way that our character looks. This game simply does not offer us a cloak to place over the top of our mis-match gears. There was a time where I'd always wear my opaline in town-- (casual wear). Upon ariving to camp-- I'd switch into my "battle/exp" gear. After a while tho, with so much "battle" gear I didn't have enough room to carry the "casual" gear to switch into.

Yah, it would suck for some dragoon to get a opo-opo crown drop over the bard who obviously could put the crown to use-- but somethings should simply be shrugged off and taken lightly. I mean, another lucky egg will drop.

It used to suck for someone to open a coffer for the sake of a map when someone else might've needed the coffer for their Artifact gear. Though, some things need only be taken with a grain of salt.

Oh opo crown is a quest not a drop, it's really funny because the quest makes you smell bad to all the mithra in kazham and they say funny things until you do another quest to get the smell off.

lol I'm working on my ohat right now....that will make what... eight hats? ya know I think I may have a problem that needs professional help.
 
I must say, that everytime I pull up the game...I'm in opaline gear >.> then it's always some random person who /tell me saying

why do you have that crap? Just sell it for gil!

One time, I synthed myself the whole level 57 Scorpion set (the one SH is a part of), hoping the whole set would look all sexy and riveted and red.

It didn't, I was pretty disappointed.

I also own 3/5 pieces of HQ Dragon DRG JSE. They aren't expensive, so, eh.

I'm also working on getting full barone.. because there isn't much that's sexier than full barone.
 
Oh, lol.. I was meaning the "drops" err, items required for crown quest.

Like, say, the lucky egg or the salt or those other lil' items. Some of them are very rare and some are a little less common. I remember helping people with them back in the day and it taking hours, upon hours to get the drop. But, it was usually always pretty fun and time well spent.
 
I had someone synth me the Darksteel Armet I rock where ever I go. Except XP parties, then I wear my boring Coronet. Why? I dunno, I think it makes my PLD look a bit different then every other PLD running around in AF. Hurray for character customization!


But would I lot on something just because my character might look cool in it? Nah, especially if someone else in the party could benefit more from it.

I guess I'm just cool like that.

Id say that a BRD has just as much right as a RDM does, but DRG gets priority, then THF.
 
Arien take out the cock deep down ur throat first n then post shit.I have both nin and war at 70+ n i know that when i'm fuckin tanking something thats gonna two shot me i need haste and evasion... it saves ass.What is the point of crit and all that crap when you can't even hiting kirin...?Drknights are suppose to spam sata on you (On Gods) and in Kirin you run around (In most shells atleast besides the best ones where pretty much everyone got it) in circles and kite him.Now for that you need vit hp evasion and haste! Tada there we go.Str dex agi int ... won't help at all.
 
And we all know how many ninja-s get parties if they have "DD only" on their comment

I'd rather not see people lotting relic and only using it while AFK (Think it's be better that I not state names, because they can just as easily suddenly wear them outside town to "prove me wrong" :roll:)...and I'd rather not see some people camp stuff for certain jobs (Really, really rather Assault Jerkin goto a THF or DRG rather than yet another melee RDM who'd probably make better use off a SH ANYWAYS..).

But then again it's their choice to camp what they want, and I don't have too much of a problem with it as long as they put it to a practical use..and by practical use I don't mean bazaaring while in town. If you wanna look pretty while bazaaring, pop on some Opaline or a Nara. Vest or something, don't go screwing some job out of Relic or an Assault Jerkin that they'd actually use just so you can look pretty while trying to get people to buy your 900g fire crystals.

I get told Biast is up so I rush to it with a friend and we get to killing it. LS mate comes close to death and we kill.. I'm 75 war, buddy is upcoming war, ls mate is 75 drk.. I win lot thinking the drk is gonna pass and what does he do? gets Patroclus's Helm, which drk will never use cause they got wyvern helm.. oh well, it's been resolved now.
 
Out of all the different combos I've worn, nothing has ever made Assault Jerkin look good. ; ;

Im curious... what body piece would you suggest then at Lv75 for a NIN to wear that have those great stats you say NIN's need.

I have several body piece equips...

Koga Chainmail: TP Gain, if I didn't have this I would still have my SH+1
Kirin's Osode: WS's... if I didn't have this I would have Hauby +1
Arhat's Gi +1: Gods and higher Tier HNM's... I stack Enmity for kiting and Phys -% for when shadows go down to the big guys.
War Shinobi Gi: Regen is always nice when solo or downtime etc.

sorry wolffy you wrong you being both nin and war sould know better. What make you think a war would need osode over a nin. War are dd the only good stat would be the 10 str. There are way better equip out there for war and not so many for ninja. Also if anything rng and mnk would before war possibly brds to.



on diffent know what give you right say that a rdm dont deserve a assult jerkin. Red mage spend alot more soloing then most job and there only a few select gear that we can wear. SH give what acc eva while aj gives 18 att. As a mithra the one thing we dont have is str got plenty of dex but little str. So I can use every bet of str/attack i can get my hands on. If i wanted acc i just wear my chasable wich is only 5 less acc the sh and 17 mil cheaper.

9 Points for Ninja applicable uses for an Osode. I'm not going to count hate as a benefit, honestly, since it applies to all jobs


STR - Damage, And secondary WS Mod attribute (2 Pts)
DEX - Accuracy and Crit Rate (2 Pts)
VIT = Less Damage Taken, Secondary WS Mod Attribute, Chakra bonus if you're not using Temple Cyclas[I know some of you weird MNKs out there don't](3 Pts)
AGI - Parry/Guard, Evasion, Alleged boost to Counter(3 Pts)
INT - Nothing.(0)
MND - Chi Blast (1 Pt)


11 Applicable uses for Osode for MNK. Not to say a Ninja doesn't make great use out of it, they do. But saying that they get the most out of it is lol.
 
I'll even bite the bullet and remove points on Chakra boost and Counter boost, still tied though.

And if anyones wondering that drk was me. Yes i had friends tell me biast killed them. My best friend lost extra XP kiting it for me while i told my LS it was up, i tell them its up and they run to it. I run to it as well to help. I was told in the battle it was a war item only, so i assumed it would just say only war could equip so i said no i didnt want it.
Then it drops and i didnt even look at the stats, i just saw many other jobs could equip it including drk, so i asked if i should lot. And usually if its really important someone answers immediatley....and no one did. so i lotted and the instant i pressed lot he said he needed it. I admit i was hasty and lotted in the moment of excitement, i could have waited longer for the answer and was entirley wrong. It IS an item i do not need or never will use.
And lotting to look "leet" is far from anything i would do. I dont have the best gear and probly never will, i dont care what other people think of the gear i wear.
i wear what i can afford to the best it can be and play my job as well as i can with it. i dont care about status items.
and obviously a drk having this helmet makes you look like a moron when you have wyverns which is just as you said.
i was an idiot and made a huge mistake and have spent every moment since then regretting it.
i havent even played when im home from the hospital because it still makes me feel bad...im on a mini ffxi break because of it and im still very sorry for robbing you of a helmet i will never use.
i am a morn.
