I'm sorry, what? You're saying that women NATURALLY 'play games' with men? (Even if we 'don't mean to' or whatever it is you think.) >_> Maybe it's just how I'm reading this, but that's pretty insulting to me. Some guys play games with girls, some girls play games with guys, but it's not fair or right to assume ALL guys or girls are that way. D:
I have to say, this hurts a little coming from someone I actually know. I'm grateful for your help in game, but I just can't see eye-to-eye with you on this, and if it's what I think it is, I don't want to.
I'm sorry you feel that way. That was not my intention.
I've taken a lot of flak for this recently, and I'd like to address it here:
1. It is my opinion, based on life experience and observation, that women think differently then men do.
2. The result of this is that women react to things differently then men, especially when it comes to a relationship. When a man sees a problem, generally he will confront it directly. When a woman sees a problem, she will generally deal with it indirectly.
3. Yes, there are exceptions to this, however, I
believe this is the rule.
4. This indirect method of dealing with issues will appear to men (at least, men like me) as
playing games. At least, that is what I call it. It can be benign, like playing hard to get, or it can be rather cruel, like flirting with another guy in order to get your attention, but no matter where it falls along the spectrum, it is still a game.
5. Are there men that do similar and/or much worse things? Yes. There are good and bad men, just as there are good and bad women. I wasn't referring to individual merit. I was referring to how some things women do appear to men.
That is my belief. I will not retract it, nor will I apologize for it. I don't believe it is sexist and I did not intend to convey that message. I was merely stating an observation about the opposite sex. My opinion will probably change over time, but that's where it stands right now.
If in return, you wanted to say that men are just too damned dense to understand most signals a woman gives in a relationship, you're more than welcome to, and you would be right. Just don't arbitrarily dismiss my entire point as 'sexist.' Being truly sexist would be if I said that women are
incapable of doing X, Y, or Z, because they are women.
EDIT: One other thing, I work with extremely capable women on a daily basis. My past two commanding officers have been woman. For years, I have been surrounded by women whose capabilities I respect and admire. I'm probably one of the least gender-biased people out there. That being said, I make try to make honest observations, and my post a few days ago was one of those.
In any case, I'll be asking for the thread to be closed. It's doing more harm than good.
