Okay, so I get to Xototl a little late today and all i see in /say is insults about ls hopping, pking, and gimp gear. Now why bother doing this?

What does it actually get done? Everytime i camp a NM or anything i'm there to have fun, i wish my CCer's luck(sadly even Gilsellers) and i hold no ill will towords them if they beat me to the claim.

So today at Xototl, i'm seeing things like "You pked me with ChainSpell and ____"(I forgot what spell was used)

then some Shit about ls Hopping, someone going on about gimp gear. I mean it's fucking stupid, what does this really do?

What if one day the ls's wanted to work together to get some NM done? I mean i'm all for insulting people but there has to be a line when to stop.

Today, i've seen sides of people i didn't think they had. it's fucking retarded. I was actually trying to stop this fighting too. "If you want to fight like retards then to talk to blazn". I like to use a little humor :p

But come on people instead of ripping eachother a new asshole how about we just say "hey nice claim" "Good kill" "Nice drops grats" why fight like little bitches. Most of us are adults, why fight like kids?

If you want i can call your house and say you smell like poo. Would that help?

Also i don't want this to turn into a "you did this to me one day so it made my Mpk okay"

I don't understand it either. It's hard for me to "hate" on a LS or even think of actively insulting one so childishly. Yes, I have a lot of friends and people I know on the server. Any arguements I may have had in the past with someone I usually work out. Most of the time if I get angry at something silly, I take a minute to sit back, look at the situation then talk to the person. I have yet to come accross a person on this server that I have talked to about an issue and it be resolved poorly or cause any stigma.

Honestly, this is one of the reasons I personally don't go to certain HNM camps anymore. I don't want to be thrown into the group of "MPKers" or the "assholes" just because I am there. I don't think it's fair to be labeled for something due to some immature actions of a few individuals.

I wish I could see our server progress on this topic. It's sad that it has to come down to childish arguements between Linkshell communities.

with spawn like that you going have bickering from most people. Because it hard enough to find tod get 12-18 people out to the middle of no where to camp a mob who drop rate odd are worse then winning the lottery; then after 3 hour of camping you get out claim. granted person should not throw puches, but whould you be happy if someone who most likely betraded your shell got claim.

disclaimer I have no idea of the event she talking about, but in since is wasting 4 hours to a person that switch ls on you make you just alittle mad.

im glad to have an ls that always congratulates people on claim and drops, unless its gil sellers, thats the only time i get to see their anger XD

Linkshells are always going to be competing with each other. The number of drops is always going to be less than the number of people that want those drops, that's what keeps people coming back, what keeps them playing.

Yelling at each other, MPKing, stealing is a pretty childish way of venting frustration, but as you've seen, there is no shortage of childishness around, and the internet makes everybody a tough guy. Most of the well established linkshells won't put up with it from their members though...

Yup, I definately agree. But in all honesty there was some backstory to the conflict that Myrrh was talking about.

Some people feel the need to defend themselves. But it always seems to degenerate into a pointless /say battle.

I know I just steer clear from it, and discourage it whenever possible.

Xolotl PK = priceless.

I wasn't there, but I've had people try to kill me for no reason @Xolotl before. /stare Necrosis.

What you talking 'bout, we always /joy Large!

Sadly, when people get a big group of people out to camp something for hours on end, and someone else gets it, most people tend to feel that their being there has now been a waste of time. This leads to them being pissed at the people who did get it, since if they hadn't shown up, the first group wouldn't have "wasted their time." So when other people show up and CC you on something, chances are you're gonna be kinda miffed. Name-calling in /say is kinda immature, but like Courtney said, most established shells don't put up with that from their members; they either take it to /tell or they just deal with the fact that shit happens.

Still, not everyone can be so mature as you claim to be, Myrrh. When you're working so hard to try and get something (especially when others are helping you), and someone else shows up and gets it instead, it's pretty hard for most people to just be happy for them. Kudos to those who can; you're better people than I am. :P Which isn't to say I go talking shit to people when stuff like that happens; I get pissed off at them, yes, but I keep it to myself.

Well there goes everything I felt like posting.

That made me laugh, I'm anything but mature. I just don't think people should act like that.

If someone else can get people together and CC you with hopes of outclaiming you then they deserve a thumbs up not a Pk or Mpk. Though there are times when people who just /sea whore you is a pain in the ass and i want to tell them to fuck off but i just do funny emotes and wish them luck. yelling at them and name calling will not make them go away, they will stay there just to piss you off.

All seems kinda pointless.

There aren't enough mob pops or rare items dropped to satisfy the "average" player.

Then again, the "average" player will NEVER get a shot at killing Fafnir, so {That's too bad.}, HNM are NOT for the Average player...

Eh its contagious and its hard to avoid, like when this respected person of one ls doesn't like another person I don't even know how to judge that person.

Should I give this person a chance considering my usual benifit of the doubt personality? Or should I take the respected person's bad experience with them to heart.

Sometimes it could be simple mistakes and misunderstandings, but it can be pretty clear sometimes.

When you meet this stuff its mob mentality, you do things in a group that you wouldn't normally do alone.

Its hard to avoid and can be discreet.

Thats why I laugh whenever i see a HNM LS say things like "Drama free"
If you do anything in the FFXI Endgame environment, you're going to have drama. Either from within or from others.

ah, yes. xoltl. fun.

honestly with competition, comes trash talking at times. people can be really immature.

the thing you have to remember is that.... one person can really reflect on a linkshell. one person that maybe used to mpk alot, or do any of the number of the things wrong, can cause alot of issues for that linkshell and is a really bad reflection. some people hold grudges and no matter what, wont show that person respect even if they have changed. sometimes this leads to incidents like that. (not saying you or anyone in your LS was that way, but ive seen it happen lots in different shells from the outside perspective).

Maybe these people would be more enticed by the experiance with a beer in their hand. See I love camping NMs. I look at it the same way as ballista and brenner, both of which I love. Only people I hate are the ones that obviously bot shit... shit. If someone claims over me though in a fair match 99% of the time I /hurray them, and silently hope they die, but who doesn't huh. Maybe I wouldn't look at it this way if more people went to brenner and ballista, but what ever PvP in a nonPvP way is fun too. There will always be haters though, mainly the ones that in no way shape or form could do any damage to you in real life because of the leash that their PC has around their balls, if you really get mad at people on the internet though let them know. Hell if I see you in real life and you piss me off I'm going to do the same thing. Most times though lolinternet doesn't get under my skin. My rig is better than yours, my life is better than yours and my work is more fulfilling to me than yours. Welcome to the Nternet, have a nice stay.

Wind's changing. Fafnir was a big deal when Dynamis Beaucedine was a big deal. With all the boosts now, Fafnir's not that big a deal honestly. There is really no such thing as an elite endgamer now. Average has caught up to the timeclockers to the point where you'd have to go to the minute parser to tell the difference.

With the average will come a better attitude I think. Anyone can do sky now. Anyone can honestly turn a social shell into a Faf contender. And that means the timeclocker asses who use their playtime as a lever to be "elite" are a dying breed.

Over time, the timespammers and business associates that dominated the early forms of the game will be caught up to and outcompeted by "the average." And that's a good thing. Their elitist mentality is what drives the current but DYING foul stench of endgaming that Myrrh hates.

But Pere If you're not 75 you don't matter. So therefore everyone the plays multiple jobs to 50 and 60 will never be as good as that 75 BLM that really matters to SE.

Anyone here ever read Aesop's fables? Yeah, that's all I have to say about people.
