I'm at level 50 on my bard now and will be starting to farm to obtain various items...i.e Light Staff and Earth Staff. Are the Apollo and Terra Staff a must? Would I be best to just save for them rather then go for the light staff and earth staff first. I usually farm silks and chips near windy but kind of am bored with that is there anything else that I could farm effectively at my level that may bring me a little more money then silks and chips?

Also the the light damage effect and earth damage effect on the HQ vs NQ the same?

Get NQs first. The difference between NQ and HQ isnt noticable untill endgame.
And no, the add-effect damage on HQ vs NQ is the same.

it is 10%/15% but 5% isnt worth slaving away for an extra 1,000,000 at level 50.

Ok thanks...Anyone have any pointers on where else I can farm and what? I was thinking tree cutting in the Marshes

Like Mara said, if you're just leveling BRD for EXP, then NQ is fine. But if you want to take it to endgame, and if you're really serious about BRD, HQ staves is a must. But remember, that doesnt mean you need them now. You can get the NQ staves for now, and slowly save up for the HQs.

You can farm cuttings, which in turn you can garden them: turn them into saplings and more. It may take longer, and it ma not result in what you were aiming for...but htat's just an option. I mean, it's not really hard. You just have to take good care of the plants.

LOL. I should do that.

lmao your funny..

I know the drop rate on Tree Cuttings is Horrific, worse then Silk Threads... How is the drop rate on Raptor Skins in Meriphataud Mountains??

Raptor skins can be just as horrific. I say if you want, go with what seems to be worthwile for you...as in how much you can make at a time. Like even though beehive chips may not sell for millions of gil, it's a pretty steady income since it drops frequently. But in the end, it's really up to what you think is most efficient.

Since I usually Farm Silk Threads near Windy I'm probably gonna do Goobue and Crawlers in the Marshes...

Hey if you need help just ask....everyone likes to make money..

I'm gonna call you on the way home I have a business proposition for you lmao

wow, if i didn't know you I would have thought that was a gay remark, but instead ill take it as actual business, of making money....

You can try out rams in LTP or Kon Highlands. I used to farm the hell out of them, if you have 30+ leathercraft you can pull in 200k or so in 3 hours. It helps a ton to have a windy or jeuno mule to sell off the horns.

heh...pretty sucky on the gil myself these days...

lol this summer I was able to FISH my way into my snazzy corsair af...

But also, I would try farming slime oil, and slowly pick up some sort of craft.
