Would like to thank everyone who contributed in this thread, your advice as well as the advice of in game friends helped me beat old man Maat!! (Also thanks to Sethidus for lending me your DD gear, +29 STR BOOYA!)Was a little nervous, and I suppose thats why I had a few mistakes but in the end I won and thats all that counts!!
So here's how it went to the best of my memory:
I went in, buffed, slept and used meat mithkabob/pear au lait/yagudo drink, flashed Maat right before he did me, I waited for it to wear off and then I used Vorpal Blade. Popped my icarus wing (shakes fist at the people who hiked the price from 10k to 40k -_-) and used Vorpal Blade again. I then popped another yagudo drink but forgot my other pear au lait. Started curing myself when needed, tried flashing him again while I used an x-potion. Then he used his 2hr, but stupid me didn't clue in for a second, and then finally I started kiting him but he managed to get in a few hits and a banish anyways. Then I went right back at him, stabbing him with my Gluttony lol. Then he used his One-Inch Punch which had me in red HP. I then went and did Invincible allowing me enough time to toss in a cure IV and another x-potion. It was only at that point I thought "hey, I have Rampart and Sentinel... DUH!!!" so I used Rampart but right as I was going to get ready to use Sentinel old man Maat had enough.
So needless to say, I was one of many guilty of letting myself get too nervous, which resulted in a less than good performance but I did well enough for me to pass on my first try. (Can't believe I forgot to unequip opo-opo necklace and put on my DD necklace I was lent -_-) Guess luck would have a bit to do with it too, because I didn't have any Asuran Fists (mwahahaha)
The best part about this is that when I exited, I went into Fei'yin and lo and behold... I see a chest. I had my key on me, and see thing is I had been trying to get a life belt for a looong time weeks before, and everytime i'd find the chest I'd get nothing. This last week, i've gone to Fei'yin at least 5 times looking for the chest but usually had to compete with others and would always have to leave at some point to help a LS member or for a party invite. So I go over to the chest... use my key... and VOILA! I get my life belt!! (for my WAR) I was definitely happy at the end.
So now all I have to do is kick Xean in the arse until he goes and fights Maat with his WHM (for those who don't know me, I party with my bf Xean's WHM and have never once partied without him. I find the best fun in the game is playing with him, and feel we make an awesome team knowing each other's moves so well that our cures etc are never wasted and our MP always nice and plentiful) Once he's beaten Maat, its off to 75 for me!! Can't wait to finally be able to play with some friends who will give me a challenge at keeping my hate... especially my DRK friends, mwahaha!
