I wanted to go ahead and throw my 2 gil in the mix seeing as I defeated Maat last night and that was my first attempt. I realize that its a different fight for everyone, and that some people dont stand a chance no matter how prepared you are (I.E. Spamming Asuran Fists). I just wanted to share this with everyone. So here is how I did it.
1. Entered BCNM naked.
2. Equiped all EXP DEF gear + Opo-opo Necklace and Blink Band.
(All PLD AF + Company Sword, Generals Shield, Warriors Belt +1, Hercules Ring, Chrysoberyl Ring, and Bibiki Seashell).
3. Protect IV + Shell III.
4. Used Yagudo Drink.
5. Slept to 100 TP.
6. Used Blink Band.
7. Equiped my AF Head and Shield Tourqe.
8. Popped a Pamama Au Lait.
9. Ran in and Flashed Maat.
(I have my WS macro set up for Swift Blade and I macro in a Haubergeon, Ahmement Mantle(sp), two Woodsmans Rings and my Life Belt).
10. At this point Maat Banish II'd me and I WS's. I went to pop my Icarus wing and accidentially Disnegaged =/ as he Flashed me. Got re-engaged and after flash wore I WS's again. At that point if was a matter of endurance as we PLD's are known for. Only used Cure IV. Popped one Hyper Ether towards the end. Didn't have to use my Vile Elixer, any High Potions, or any other MP/HP Regen Drinks.
I found the fight, although intense, rather easy. Clear time of 8:37 and the only WS Maat used on me was Spinning Attack.
Good luck to anyone who has yet to do this. I beleive the hardest part is getting the test lol.
