Maat uses "Tackle?"

So apparently maat uses an ability called "tackle." It was a WS that hit me for around 120. Is this a rare thing? I've fought him many times (trying to do it steal style, dumb idea) and he always uses a H2H ws of some kind. Dragon kick, asuran fists, combo, etc. But it was just "tackle."

Well, whatever. 15 hi-potions, 1 icarus wing, 1 jack-o-lantern. Amelie II sends maat to the doctor.

Funny thing. I watched a bunch of youtube thf maat fight vids, and a lot of people miss their initial SA. It's pretty funny. Yeah he stands slanted, but it's pretty obvious where his back is
 
Did you get a screen shot? Otherwise, I believe you probably just misread... "Shoulder Tackle" is a hand-to-hand weapon skill.

I'm on ps2, so no ss of the interface. But apparently I wasn't seeing things.
 
Maat likes to get you on the ground first before he has his way with you.
 
This can only mean that SE is working with Pokemon....
 
It's probably just Shoulder Tackle, accidentally renamed. Shoulder Tackle does have a stun effect to it.

When I fought him it had the proper name of "shoulder tackle" so it would have to be a recent glitch.
Also .. anyone that cant land sneak atack on maat during thier opening hit is a complete idiot. sneak attack+ hide silly.
 
i dont remember him using that on me. but then again he was asleep half the time.

Yeah it did stun me I think. My bet is that shoulder tackle was originally going to be named just tackle and maybe they just forgot to change his. Or something like that.

Does he even turn to face you before attacking him? Or does he keep facing forward? Since he doesnt attack first and all.
 
If memory serves me right, he keeps facing forward.
 
When I fought Maat as PLD he used "Maat bash" on me instead of Shield bash it had much the same effect they probably just alter the naming and have it fit maats crazy monk style better. Although shoulder tackle is a monk move, oh well how knows what goes on in the mind of maat.
 
A Maat Bash sounds like some kind of Ru'Lude Gardens Homecoming Dance.

The theme for the 2007 Maat Bash? Enchantment under the {sea}?
 
Maat's Bash is also one of his signature moves. Really pissed me off when I fought him on DRK, because he would always stun before and/or after...
 
I play using the Japanese client. For the H2H WS it is actually just "Tackle" in the JP version, while in the English version it is "Shoulder Tackle"

Maat does use this and it is probably just something SE just overlooked when translating.

Was just gonna say this. Maat seems to personalize some JAs and WS's.
