Magus Sisters new summon?

Yeah, Myrrh. People said that before. Someone also mentioned on BG that they couldn't add the summon this patch due to graphical glitches with the terrain.
 
I am not expecting the Magus sisters if they are even going to be in FFXI to be (summonable) avatars.

I've been reading the same jabbering from SE regarding summons again and again and again since the release of ToAU, I have read so many fanboy threads about ZOMG Odin, Alexander w00t, PONY PONY PONY PONY!!
Every single thread I had to sadly point out I was right, there is no new avatar and there won't be for at least the next 6 months!

The only truth is when we get to see release notes from SE saying they are implementing <Summonable avatar> in x update taking place in xx-xx-20xx.
All the other is just dreaming and speculation which I stopped taking serious back in 2006, so unless you are Sage Sundi's next door neighbour or are getting this from tracable release notes from SE themselves...

There will not be a new avatar for at least the next 3 updates, mark my words.

My bets are on Ixion being one of the two. The fact that we're fighting "Dark Ixion" means there must be a "Light Ixion."

Possiblities:

Odin: Maybe a mini-version? But would AoE Death be effective enough to work for a SMN? Or would it be gimped to monsters rated "Too Weak" ?

Alexander: Only if they had him appear in the distance and doing a one-shot attack, Ala past FFs.

Ixion: I think a Light Ixion summon will be very possible.

Atomos: We won't even know what it's part in the storyline is yet.. Hmm..

Pheonix: Agreed with above - Won't see anything till we chase down Tenzen again. (And greet him with a kick to the groin and giving the ol' sword of his a new home.)

Magus Sisters sound more like a boss fight to me as well.


Myself, I don't care what avatars they bring; I'm more curious how they will work. They said at Fan Fest that they'd be like nothing we've seen yet. Something about current avatars being too ability based, and the new ones being completly different.

The only two things I can think of that could be different are Puppet like avatars, i.e. ones that can fill in for DD or a tank, and/or one-shot avatars ala older FFs.

Time will tell.. but how much more time?

Light Ixion is already in the game: Auroral Alicorn. Its a campaign NPC

not to mention that Ixion summon (at least in FFX) was very similar to Ramuh, especially since they are both thunder based.

Not to mention that Dark/Light ixion's in XI aren't spirits/whatevers that one would summon, but actual creatures.
